ANSWERED 2003 V11 Sport Naked - serial number one?
Rox Lemans replied to chamberlin's topic in 24/7 V11
Heck, you're in Oro Valley? I'll be in Sabino Canyon come February... Maybe have a Goozi ride before you part with this gem. Heck, maybe I'll buy it...lol 3 V11s? I'd be as bad as Scud... ;-P -
How long until MG views spine frame bikes as "classics"
Rox Lemans replied to al_roethlisberger's topic in 24/7 V11
The V11s will be classics. Specifically unmolested ones. And Scud is right about them being pretty rare. Are they fetching premiums? They all kind of are. If you think about it a 2002 motorcycle that was $12-13k in 2002 are getting $5k-$7k? Not bad in my opinion. Also they're kinda the last of the "purist" Guzzis. As for Sport Classics?!! I remember when dealers could barely give them away and then the Hipsters started paying premiums 10 years later .. Cool but nothing special. And $25k+ for a Paul Smart? Riiiiiiiight...lol -
Which would you prefer?

NOS MG Titanium exhaust and ECU available on eBay
Rox Lemans replied to al_roethlisberger's topic in 24/7 V11
Pretty. Not $1200 pretty but pretty.. I wanted these for my Scura. But missed out that time last year. Wound up buying M4s and a Guzzitech tune.. Yep,made my Scura pretty damn mighty . ;-) -
I havent had issues with the dash lights just yet but have my taillight. Corrosion in the socket. I will likely have to buy a new one . Check for corrosion. Tends to be the culprit.

I did that . Cracked my nail . Hurt like a bizzo. Embrace the suck.

That's one sexy bike, Dave.

That's kinda what they went for with the Valkyrie. A naked Goldwing. They nailed it in the 90s and early 2000s but went flat with the one I got (love or hate styling) . However they're cruisers. Imagine if Honda put that motor in a sportier standard aimed at say the BMW RS or the K bikes... It would be a winner.

Im waiting for the Lemans . You know it's coming ..

10-15 more hp? Are they? I would say 5 if any . I would contantly ride my Scura and Lemans back to back to see ( mostly after reading your posts).. The Scura is slightly faster for sure but I wouldn't say 10-15... But I haven't dynoed them . And mine feels as snappy as yours did. That aluminum flywheel does help. Scuras rev A LOT quicker than a standard. -
I just bought this thing back in late July. It might make some here throw up in your mouth a little but I love it. The thing has about as much torque as my car. With the pipes it sounds like an 80s Porsche Turbo (even has that slight wind and airbox noise) . It even handles being 750lbs. It even has a single sided swing arm though being a cruiser. And no, it will not transform into a robot and kill you...

If this guy holds out till February Ill buy it... Ill be in Oro Valley too... That baby will sell though...

If Guzzi is listening.....Imagine if you will.... A V85 Lemans.. Nuff said...

I hate to be reduntant but the v11 and the 1200 Sport/Naked Norge/Ugly Griso (Im joking. Stand down..lol) are just that different . A show of evolution. Yep, Guzzi twins... Some parts shared. And then it ends. There are far more "quirks" on a v11 . Think about it. Guzzi AND Aprilia... Nuff said. However when the quirks are worked out? A bike to fall in love with. 1200 Sports along with the other CARCs are just refined and behave that much differently despite merely being the next generation Goose. To me it's matter of preference what's "better". The V11 is better.. :-D

I wonder if the Guzzi employee that came up with the lime green was drinking Mountain Dew when he decided to submit that color to the higher ups..... Hmmmmm

Sounds interesting, will have to check this out. jb I swear by it. Todd at Guzzitech managed some good alchemy with those maps. I did my Scura recently and by the butt meter an easy 10-12hp at the wheel. If you were close Id let you ride my Lemans and Scura back to back to show you. HUGE difference from stock and better than the ECU that came with the Titanium racing pipes by leaps and bounds. And I guarantee better than G&B only by the fact that Todd has done various maps with various bikes with diffent setups to assure you get a proper setup. He definitely has a map for a v11 with crossover and pipes and an open airbox, crossover and pipes... Just sayin,

To get back on the V11...... Finally reflashed my Scura. The Scura is offically mighty however like any Italian bike soon the electrics will need to be resorted ( meaning rip out the Italian "thatll do let's get lunch) electrics and fully modernize it. Right now it's the rear light fixture . Victim of the v twin vibes. Ill be going full LED soon . Right now it's just the head and tail lights. Then Ill start the Lemans. Mechanically theyre as solid as they'd ever been. The v11 has always been my bucket list bike and now I have 2. Between those and the Triumph t595 And t509 since I saw Mission Impossible 2....lol

I would recommend Guzzitech for a reflash . Call him up , tell him your setup , ship your ecu and he sends it back. I had it done to my Lemans. It completely changed the bike . Loved it so much I did it to my Scura. With the one time charge you can get as many maps you want . He also sells a kit where you can do it at home that comes with a tablet . Pricy but you'd basically have what he's got .

nope do a decent tune-up. repeat on time. https://www.v11lemans.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=19610 Actually you should remap. Of course it's debateable . But to my experience when I first got my Lemans and threw on Mistrals and noticed it ran okay but a little hot and lost a little top end. I was also told the ecu would adjust to a crossover (because getting a crosssover is what getting pipes will lead to) is total hogwash. I eventually brought my bike running like crap to Guzzitech for a custom map. It became a whole new bike. Bikes with early era FI should be remapped. Newer stuff is a case by case . But to get specific to the MM in the V11? Get it reflashed. Not doing it you're not just sacraficing power for tone you're doing your bike a disservice..

What you speak of is pretty common with the rims getting scuffed up with tire changes. Many just strip the paint off the edges and polish polish them. That was done with my Scura. The tire/wheel tolerances is so tight it happens quite easily. You can repaint them but it'll be likely theyll scuff again.
-
That there , my friend looks like a Ghezzi-Brian with a shitty paint . If I had room in the garage Id be all over that. A good repaint and that thing would be gorgeous.Just not for a starting bid of $35k. That dude is smoking crack... $10k-$12k you can build your own.

GPS speedos are good. They have their shortcomings but theyre good. When I rode Scud's I remember some small things on it. They are accurate (at least way more accurate than OEM). However there is a delay. In stop and go traffic theyre worthless. They need a second or 2 to kick in. But they do work. I have a set put aside for when one of my bike's speedo or tach takes a doo doo.
