czakky.. what is reflashing?
-
Hi Rob, MG Cycles is a great place to start for many aftermarket parts and maintenance items. http://www.mgcycle.com/ Harpers Moto Guzzi is a good beginning for OEM. They have a parts fiche as well. http://www.harpermoto.com/ Both are helpful folks. The Moto Guzzi Titanium exhaust and ecu kit is no longer available. They do come up for sale now and then through the various Guzzi forums and of course, ebay. Some great aftermarket cans are available and a Power Commander will work well. There is a LOT of info on this forum. Ask away... show us photos... and welcome.

I believe relays can sometimes go bad a bit at a time. As evidence, my bike, early ownership days, before I was fully aware of the relay problems. Condition: I shut off after normal run - fail to restart. Thinking it must be the vapor lock scenario, I let it cool. Restarted after 10 min. All ok till weeks later, same deal, same result. Then I shut it off at a stop 20 min later and no restart... for 1 hour. After that restart it shut down mid-ride after about 5 min. It would not restart, period. Then I remembered something about relays. I swapped #1 with #5 and bingo. Instant start. At some point I had read to carry extra relays, so I had them with me. Not a problem since. GEI btw. Seems to me this must have been the fuel pump relay failing gradually till finally giving up. Does this sound reasonable?

footgoose replied to Blueboarhound's topic in Meetings, Clubs & Events
hey Docc, what would you imagine that loop takes time wise? given eating, resting and such, and not racin'... well, not REally racin' Anyone else with a favorite road in the vicinity? I've been there but only passing through, and only following someone. And it's been awhile. I've done the Gap 3 times and that's plenty. Seemed like anyway we went was great but some were heavenly. -
oh, and 2 more Sport? and some rain? finally

gee, now I'm asking myself that too. No mufflers sparks curiosity. Side shots please. Buell mirrors? Convertibars?

How to prevent boiling out your rear brake....
footgoose replied to Rox Lemans's topic in Technical Topics
thanks for bringing this up. I was wondering why mfg's thought it so important to link brakes or add abs. My '01 K1200RS had partially linked abs. I thought it kind of a gimmick till it saved my butt. My '00 R1100S had a version of that too. My understanding was, when applying the front, it added some degree of rear on it's own. -
Possibly a contact rattle, with the rpm's providing just the right vibe. Check the head pipes where they join the crossover. They can get very close to the case. Anything else that's been removed/attached. Scud.. that be LeMens

Help needed figuring out fuel level electrics
footgoose replied to stewgnu's topic in Technical Topics
KRoy, what is the day/night controller for this? When the old lamp 'for load' burns out, will the led will brighten or go out too? Do you use the holder for this lamp and is polarity a concern for it? What is the primordial ooze you use to encapsulate everything? My soldering set up is much too bulky and temperamental to do this. What do you use for this delicate stuff? -
How to prevent boiling out your rear brake....

ROX.... Now that I'm hyper aware of my use of the rear brake, I'd welcome your opinion on corner braking. Hell, if I knew it all, what do I need the forum for? It could be that all I need is a road like the one you and scud speak of, to reassess and develop my own style. -
Yes, my O ring expanded in the half hour it was off. Got it squeezed back in tho.. pita. And I had the same problem with the oil filter. Dropped the pan and stuck a screwdriver through it to remove. I now own every possible filter wrench! Docc posted I THINK '1&1/4 turns past finger tight' for the filter. Don't quote me. There is an explanation with that post. Once the Goose trains you how it wants to be cared for, you'll get along quite nicely.

Bellissimo! more pics please

docc, just to follow on that point for a sec... does that mean the sidestand switch can, if one want's it gone, just be disconnected/removed and that leaves 3rd relay with nothing to do? Would that also mean if you just removed the 3r, the switch is bypassed and the bike runs or will that shut it down?

Last 2 posters: I've been watching out for a K75s locally. Interest is piqued. Reviews are positive. Owners are attached similar to Guzzi owners. Guzzi owners own 'em. Smaller and lighter brick. (former K12RS owner) Seemingly in a low spot value wise. Whats not to love? -

As you noted in a previous post, Phil, it comes down to riding style. In my 50 years of motorcycling, I've owned a few variants as well. Never ridden on a track though. My first self inflicted crash was a result of an emergency stop at a wet and loose pot hole, using the front brake only. I was quite young and really only had a helmet on because it was raining. Landed right on my head and only twisted an arm. Ever since, I've been a fan of the rear brake, and not just in the wet. It gets roughly 10 to 25% of combined pressure at all my normal stops. And just short of skid on wet or gravel. My V11's and the DR650 seem to eat rear pads faster than others I've had. About every tire change. The V11 oem rear is sufficient for my use, but I will use it. I don't believe I'd be as 'lucky' as you only using the front. -
welcome Jake. I love me some Franklin TN. Is that lovely 50's burger doodle-ice cream place still there?
-
that IS amazing. not so much the weight of the new one, but of the oem! it looks gorgeous. cost is probably prohibitive for me as I'm not racin'. I think it might make you yearn for the front.

I received a V11 Sport manual with my '02 LM p/n 01 90 00 30 no print date, but pictures a 2000 model. I should have received, and want a V11 LM, V11 Sport p/n 01 90 00 60 - 09/2001. I'll buy or trade. I also have a V11 LM, V11 Rosso, V11 Sport p/n 01 90 00 90 -10/2002 for trade or until I get the correct one. I have pictures of all 3. The 3rd one is what I'm after. thanks
