  1. There's plenty here to read on the subject. search Tenni clutch or Scura clutch. here's one I had a link to http://www.v11lemans.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=19010&page=1
  2. I bought the Tenni new, so I wouldn't have known of the flywheel issue. I sold it and re- purchased it again and knew fully well what I was getting into. In my case, since I had sold it to a friend who treated it gently as I had, I felt comfortable enough to ride it (only had 11000 mi) for awhile till I could replace the clutch, which i have yet to do. Consensus here and other forums, I believe will indicate... 1. There is a good chance the alm flywheel will eventually break. and 2. The dual plate with steel flywheel is reliable. Conversions can and have been done, revealing both cracked, and undamaged alm flywheels. If the bike you're getting is "special" to you, and the price reflects the issue, AND you're willing to gamble and/or replace, then go for it. If not, there are plenty other sport/lemans out there with the dual plate clutch/steel flywheel. Keep in mind, the Alm flywheel is not guaranteed to break, but something you do not want to happen as you ride. My advice to a friend would be to replace the aluminum flywheel at some point. As far as I know the single plater is in the Tenni, Scura, and Rosso Mandello. Which one are you looking at? Miles, history, etc. Tell us more. Got a photo? Even the Griso?? welcome btw
  3. Any activity on this subject gents? Anybody get a RAM single yet or any word on getting one? The more I ride these 2 bikes back to back, the more I respect the difference. I don't want to give up on a replacement single for the Tenni. Another thought I had is regarding the aforementioned guy who does the lightened steel flywheel... If those work with a single plate system, could we not just replace the flywheel and use the rest of the oem single parts? sorry if this has been addressed and I've missed it.
  4. I have a heck of a time uploading files for some reason. heres a close up of the bag
  5. thanks JB, sorry to divert the topic. Here's my Watershed. 30L, sits on a home made curved fiberglass platform attached to the mg tail rack. A bit hard to see.
  6. Odd, I have Throttlemeister "heavy" units on my 02 LeMans, however I did buy them over 10 years ago so maybe they no longer make a model that fits? I also filled my bars with lead shot and silicone The told me they would work, but I must remove the stock internal bar and other bits, and their unit attaches in place of that. I still may do that. I can use the weights without the throttle lock on the oem set up, but I guess I want it ALL. I was impressed with the way MG did those bars. Don't want to lose it, just maybe make it a bit better. It's just possible I'm over thinking it. Does yours utilize the throttle lock? Do you remember the code/ designation/ or number for your TMeister set? (ha, I'm really pushin it)
  7. Lock up..... I wonder if the clutch went. Either way, I wouldn't have taken on that repair job, tho someone else may, given the rarity. I hope she comes back to life someday, and the new owner checks in.
  8. ahhhh... I plan on keeping the stock clipons, as they have a built-in anti vibe that works well. I just want a heavier/prettier end weight. Throttlemeister says i can't incorporate their system with the MG stock set up.
  9. looks good. I don't like the big hard bags either, tho they do have advantages. I went with a Watershed dry bag on the rear rack. So, what bar end weights are those?
  10. yup.... http://www.mgcycle.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=276&products_id=86
  11. the threads are reversed. the shaft is 25mm. the threaded hole is about 2mm. pretty much a specific part.
  12. well, then there's this.... http://wildguzzi.com/forum/index.php?topic=46890.0 I Really like this bike.
  13. if I lived in NC, I'd be right there with you Al. That state was made for motorcycles! I've done a few miles in and around the west end.
  14. tee shirts please..
  15. Thanks for the evaluation Low. Just the info I'm after. Great tip on the HB set up as well. Regarding "cruiser", note that I placed it in quotes. Just an easy word to use for description. IMO, I don't think of any bike as a cruiser, as they all purpose built. That said, they can all be used to "cruise" whatever that means. In my world (goin out on a limb here) "cruiser" loosely defines any bike that a mfg'r designed/altered to emulate, the HD Super Glide. One of, if not the first factory custom that was designed to emulate the west coast custom bike trend in the late 60's - 70's. High bars, low seat, bulbous tank. Supposedly a more comfortable riding position.?. I have always thought the MG "Cali" style fits in there somewhere. The 850T is clearly a standard in my mind. The Sport/LeMans..?? A Sport Tourer? IDK. I have described mine to friends as a gentleman's sport bike, but don't think it'll catch on
  16. that would be the right one it seems... but the price, ... being the cheap aaaa, I mean, Guzzisti that I am. thanks
  17. point to note, niether of those have tubeless rims.. and the 03 might be a Hydro motor, I wouldn't touch it unless the recall was performed before any miles acumulated. What's up with the Hydro motor? I'm trying to narrow down the best years. So far I'm guessing 98 - 01.... ??
  18. I'd do pods if I knew enough to make it right. I have the BMC system now and I'm really happy with it. Top of the air box goes away and a nice alm frame sits right on top of the stock intake box, with a large K&N style filter in it. It just sits open under the tank. It makes a beautiful noise! With the FBF Xover, and a dynotune, I am very pleased.
  19. I'm def going after the tubeless spoke wheels. I'll be after whichever Guzzi "California" style cruiser is the best for the money. They are all the same but for trim levels and names, right? 98-01 they seem like a deal at 3 to 4k jackalbob.. that Jackal is NICE thanks, gents
  20. here's my dream... Egli Vincent
  21. Great bike Kmac33! Great video. Thanks. For anyone not familiar ... here's the story A short, 5 part documentary on John and this amazing motorcycle. I can't get the link to post properly. Google John Britten. Select - Britten:Backyard Visionary NZ On Screen ... Great story
  22. HeY, no words! but since you're talking, I need a new , small, nice camera. So, I have to ask, cause the photo is great. So many others here are really nice as well. I'm using a pretty old Canon compact, Elf maybe. Bike is a beauty
  23. Cool. Roy, got a gauge on the spine? Where did/would you mount it? Inquiring minds ya know.
  24. thanks foto. takin' me back to iron mtn rd. love it. LOVED the video. Well done! the 'rider in the windscreen' shot --very cool. that Bassa is sweet. is 99-00 the years you'd look for if you were going to replace it? and, sorry but, what does "15m cpu bulletproof" mean?
  25. I'm leaning towards getting another "cruiser" ...standard style highway bike. First thought is a V11 Cali style. Not crazy about the low slung look but that's not a problem with the Tonti, is it. I know several LM owners here also have them. My question to you bunch is... what years are better, regarding fits and niggles. I'm somewhat up on the V11LM's "best and worst" vintage, but the cruisers, not so much. Did they ever make a 6 spd? Is the top gearing (5th) long enough? Do they share any of the LM's problems? I really like the EV rim spoke wheels (tubeless??) Recommendations, opinions appreciated. thanks, David
