  1. welcome back! For myself, a good xover and MG Ti cans do the trick. Basically a straight through glass pack. Loud when you're on the throttle and as loud as I want it. There is a beautiful depth of sound at idle and at rpm's consistent with average riding.
  2. the hands probably bounce
  3. No worries, no time wasted. I got to dig through my stuff too. My sense of purpose took a small hit though.
  4. ah yes, there is a plate with the Ti kit that does relocate the mount holes. I will dig that out. Gimme a minute
  5. I made this attachment for my shop jack to remove the motor for clutch work. It gets low enough, after raising the bike a bit with a stabilizing chock at the front and ratchet straps at the rear, to roll the disconnected motor out. Then squatting and with elbows on knees, I could just lift it onto the nearby Harbor Freight dolly. Went back the same way. Flat steel, vise, hammer, rubber/glue. Cradles the contour of the oil pan. Could be bolted instead of weld.
  6. yes. the high mount hangers from the V11 Ti kit ARE the very ones used on the early Sport 1100. I purchased the latter some years ago and have compared them to the ones from the Ti kit.
  7. Left side tire were is normal where we drive on the right side of the road. It also indicates a lot of city riding. So, with the wheels off for new rubber you'll have the opportunity to check/replace wheel bearings, replace if necessary, and lube the 'hard to get to' front u-joint. Could be an illusion but it looks like he didn't get around to brake fluid flush and fill either. If it's old fluid, our clutches respond noticeably well to new clean fluid. She looks great.. and happy ...like a good dog who's found her furever home
  8. Probably Mistral's http://www.mgcycle.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=26_336&products_id=4569 or Agostini's, they look the same, ... and actually 'might' be the same. It'll be worth your while to repair the damaged one
  9. Yes, get well very soon.
  10. Beauty..... what's he calling that finish? I've heard a similar paint called hammerite.
  11. love this one The LeMans is street art.
  12. looks like it is a little scratched on the left side. I'd be more worried about the graphics on the tank possibly having gas bubbles under.
  13. he painted the valve covers because the RC red covers are actually kind of orange and don't really match anything. The can is dented because it's Ti and dents VERY easily, and is just as easily fixed. Aftermarket fender, probably broke the original. "appearances" say this is a good deal.
  14. I just sold one that came with a bike I got a couple years ago. I could not find any info on it at all. Probably a short production run. May have to make one.
  15. value is established at the point of sale, so....
  16. Thanks Bob. Just ordered some 1" med firm and a piece of 1/2" pudgee to cover it. I'll see how that works for me on the smaller (and terrible) Yamaha FJ09 seat, before rebuilding my spare Guzzi seat.
  17. looks like a correct RC to me, and a very good price. aftermarket f fender
  18. If you are curious (as I would be) is it a real RC, there are the obvious exclusive parts, and this....http://static.piaggio.com/recall/form-piaggio_en.html Not all, but most of the time afaik, the response will show something to ID it. Like color, maybe model .. give it a shot. edit: I just tried mine again and it shows Tenni MY2002
  19. Bob, I see they sell in different thickness as well as firmness. What thickness did you use. I was thinking it might be good to top off the layers with 1/4" lighter firmness. I will try this out on my Yamaha seat first, as it very much needs it.
  20. the best of the best would be an early frame with the later frame supports and some kind of suspension (ok Ohlins) upgrade. Oh, ... and a zinc chromate primer fairing
  21. copied (stole) lowryter's post from another thread... hope this works and is ok. But she has another one just as sad. Gawd, that woman can make you cry 1 docc reacted to this Quote In the Emmy Lou video above along with Alison Krauss is Gillian Welsh. I had an affair with her music for years. Her guitar/vocal companion is David Rawlings. This is a Led Zep cover with Gillian and Led Zep's John Paul Jones. Tho this doesn't show Rawlings' tremendous guitar abilities, I thought it was a nice one mic performance. It was her music that re-invigorated my appreciation of Gram Parsons.
  22. another thread drift has got me thinkin about some country music. I wanted to post "Hickory Wind" by Gram Parsons as covered by BR549, but couldn't find a decent youtube vid. Here's the next best, expertly covered by Keith Richards. Gram Parsons and Richards were friends briefly as Parson's life was cut short, but he's known for having a huge influence on the Stones drift into American country.
  23. you could still convert your existing arm to a Lucky Phil extended arm. That's how Phil started it all. It's on the forum somewhere where he did the first one.
