from this '03 Rosso Corsa. Complete with headlight, frame mount, and all brackets- everything needed to mount to a sport (headlight clip ring is broken at hook) and no mirrors or windshield. It has been repainted without the ghost flag graphic. $400 INCLUDES shipping 48 states. It'll be a large box... I got a quote to Florida $80. I finally took some time and organized all the components for this fairing. This should be everything needed for complete install, except windscreen and mirrors. I "think" it will fit any spine frame. These photos show the worst of it, a few holes with cracking where panels were bolted together, possibly over tightened. None are broken all the way out and mostly will not be seen. Some pics are different views of the same spot. The last photo shows the bulb retainer spring hook that is broken off. Includes all brackets, mounting bolts, air dam, complete headlight, plus wind screen fasteners. I had to cut one fastener that was stuck. I can't be taking any more photos as everything is carefully wrapped and securely packed into the box for shipment. The box is 35x14x25 and weighs 23lb 13.4oz. for a diy cost check. The cracked spots can be repaired with 3M 04247 epoxy adhesive.

for sport/lemans, unsure of mfg. Stein Dense maybe? $75. Plus buyer pays shipping. * a note on shipping: lately I've found that getting a quote on larger packages may not hold up when it comes time to ship. the charge can vary by carrier and by day of the week.

yes, what Chuck says. that flywheel is a known potential disaster. it'll be worth it for the peace of mind.

yup, I bought the Harbor Freight lift on SALE of course. And added the HF trailering wheel chock and bolted it to the lift. this type (generic) is cheap, I mean frugal,,.. But needs some finessing or the bike will fall off it. (attach spools to swing arm) I made this attachment for my floor jack to cradle the oil pan for engine removal Just for raising the rear... one of these is very secure http://www.mgcycle.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=73&products_id=2995

Ha! I love the old Honda rider manuals. My dads friend had a '60's 160 dream, the manual said if you avoided proper maintenance, it would "chase you from riding further" Love dogs too and horns

this is the later offending shift pawl arm Phil referred to. It should measure 15mm at this point. I patiently filed mine down to 15mm/- ...doesn't have to be perfect. You'll see with the spring laid on there.

I did similar to my disc float connections, but used a drill to turn them. thanks

Yes, it's strange, you don't hear about the early bikes spring failures much if at all. I would chalk that up to a supplier change (ummm .. to save a few cents) after initial model production. "sensitive" That's a good description. It shows you're still smitten by her

I can certainly relate to frustration from a motorcycle that gives problems. These springs were fairly recently all sold I believe, BUT (and this is a bigg But) I'll bet one could be had. This is the long version, for the truly interested. The result is ... a good spring. However, are you sure the problem is the shift spring? How did the failure occur?
-
Sorry to hear this. The spring has been a problem for a while with these bikes. The "upgraded" springs of a few year back were no more reliable than the originals. Just a couple of years ago, on this forum, some members designed, tested, and built NEW upgraded springs, very upgraded springs. I haven't heard of any failures from these. Is there room in your heart for another try? (if there is one to be found) Otherwise, 1k is an awfully good deal on this bike
-
Was the problem a broken shift spring the first time you fixed it? Did you replace it with the new upgraded one?
-
Welcome Jetboy. Nice. Don't see many black ones. Those cans are aftermarket (this is good)

Sorry I can't answer your question but, if you still have the OEM aluminum flywheel installed, it would be a wise choice to replace it with a new steel one. In this case, either a complete standard dual plate clutch assembly, or a RAM lightened single plate like this http://www.mgcycle.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=193&products_id=1698 Note, this is for a 5 speed as the one for a 6 speed is no longer made. You'll need to be aware of a few changes. If you still have the Scura OEM clutch, you will have the critical piece... the clutch hub. The other difference is the actuating rod "cup" hole diameter. (easy fix) Read this thread if you have not already. There are other threads pertinent to the topic on the forum.

8k is not unreasonable for all that treasure imo. Buyers for V11, at any price, are certainly not plentiful.

The Guzzi will take you back no matter how often you cheat on her, or with what.

got any photos?

a good flush with new fluid may solve your problem.

The vapor lock issue is an interesting one, on it's own. I am not versed in it. I did however, have an issue similar to yours some time ago. I thought it was vapor lock. I would shut it off to get gas, and it would not restart. It would crank, no fire. Let cool, and it started. This happened 3 times, the last time no start at all. It was relay #5 and I'm fairly sure what I experienced was that it failed "gradually" .. similar to an incandescent light filament that will break and sometimes repair itself. It gets hot in Indiana, and I have a fuel filter between the jugs. I've never had any symptoms of what I might describe as vapor lock, other than what turned out to be a failed relay for the fuel pump. What were your vapor lock symptoms?

Here is a short (no pun intended) thread on my fuse 4 issue. Mine was an easy fix.

an early bike was either black, green, or silver. (01 maybe Rosso?) Check the serial number with Piaggio, find out what it was originally, and paint it that color. It may have been green. http://static.piaggio.com/recall/form-piaggio_en.html
