  1. I have had enough instance of 'no brake light' that I have taken to checking it before every ride. The micro-switch at the front lever can be troublesome. It has tiny spade posts that break off if messed (bent) with much... moving wires, etc. The connectors can be hard to remove and re-install. The switch has a tiny actuating ball in front that can get dirty, and is easily lost when cleaning. The switch is quite sensitive to mounting position. It can be moved slightly when tightening the 2 bolts, toward the steering stem, or away from, causing it to either work or not work. The light bulb socket is another point of trouble. Loose-weak springs at the wires, and corrosion. Remove - clean - replace - Done. Anyway, The front is the business end, but a working rear is a handy back-up.
  2. have you documented this project Roy, here or elsewhere?
  3. easy peezy Pc. welcome to the forum.
  4. following with interest...... nice hammer Tom
  5. these guys make it I believe Docc. the DAS logo is engraved on mine. https://shop.daes-mototec.com/de/Fahrwerk-7/Fussrasten/DAeS-Fussbremshebel-fuer--V11--1100-Sport--DayRS.html Harpers has a billet one too. I have their shift lever and the finish (blasted) is nice. but the DAS is a very nice piece. https://www.harpermoto.com/harper-coes-6061-billet-aluminum-v11-lemans-rear-brake-lever.html
  6. do show us your method and how it turns out.
  7. is it possible your tank has had something "coating" added prior? It should be just a thin clear coat. My clear coat is easily removed with a light grit polishing compound. You can just see the edges as it comes off. I'd be afraid to wrap it considering the possibility of ethanol blistering. Something you may not be concerned with in Holland. Get an experienced painter to have a look at it.
  8. since I don't have the bike to look at, I pulled up some random photos. It looks like some owners have moved the spring to the front side of the stand somehow, or procured another stand. the v11 stand should be fine, and has a kill switch!
  9. you lost a whole toe?
  10. That's it, buddy! Thank you! Dang it. That thread ended without conclusion. I'll follow this to see how Drews turns out.
  11. "First one's free" is good marketing for consumables, not durable goods. Sounds like a great event, despite the mechanical challenges. SoCAL Not a Rally coming up soon here in San Diego. SoCAL Not a Rally coming up soon here in San Diego. Do tell....
  12. nice. can you see what 'it' sees in real time?
  13. what volt meter are you using Dave? sounds like a handy accessory.
  14. Scud's advise is spot on. Beyond that, at some point you'll have to pick a number and advertise. Good luck. Great bike.
  15. well said Chuck. Maybe these are the good ole days. there's a great joke in the background of that photo.. but I'll leave it..
  16. nice I'm liking how these folks are thinking. there are a few versions-searching guzzi 1400 lemans. Design Corner - Moto Guzzi Le Mans 1400 by Marcocarbon. Homage to Guzzi design heritage makes my heart beat a little faster. I may be ready for a set of suspenders.
  17. Gorgeous
  18. if this is really a 125 https://youtu.be/WYzcrdBf7OM then clearly 'less weight' is a Big plus. well,... that and talent, balls, etc.
  19. thanks for the updates Rich. I enjoy following Gina's escapades. mmmmmmm... Gina
  20. It's a good thing we're not there this weekend. The Lodge at Tellico looks well situated for LOTS of water from the sky. I hope all in the path stay well. Bill and Kathi in VA will get some full rain barrels. We've been quite lucky, at least the last 3 I've attended, to get in and out between hurricanes.
  21. A beautiful piece of work Josh,.... and Italian! Thanks for bringing her.
  22. depending on how much it gets used it could be condensation in the fuel tank. every "old" bike I acquire gets the tank washed out.
  23. I've ridden some Hawgs, and they ain't fun. The HD's I've owned were all fun to ride, except the Sportster over 55 mph. I loved the torque. There is nothing like the feel of being on a big twin. That said, they are over priced, under powered, heavy, low rev, and poor handling. They just are what they are... large. My Goose was welcomed into the garage 16 years ago, and found a home.
  24. Is that a V85 LeMans? Is that for real? [edit: I can't copy and paste that picture or find it on the web.] It looks like a V7 parts bin combobulation with fairing and paint to me. Could be an 850. I guess retro is a way to make money these days... appeal to a younger bunch, generate some new blood interest. I get it. The company flagship is a cruiser... for Batman. I get that too. And no shade to cast from me. What IS bothersome is the lack of a LeMans. 13 years since? The Griso is the perfect format. That is... without a load of r&d. It so wants to be a LeMans.
  25. 20% less weight. oops, sorry.... more power please
