  1. The new cans look good on yer bike Dave. Crossover is next. Did Jim's bike have the crossover as well? That'll make it a tad quicker.
  2. very nice job. thanks for a good look into the carc unit. makes me want .. want.. ..
  3. plus 1 on welcome, Emmy Lou, and Imgzeit V11 Sport prototype
  4. Some folks are enthusiasts. Some are hobbyists. Still others, image is the priority. The latter group I would suggest, just doesn’t take motorcycling seriously. They don’t know their limits. Whatever machine this lot rides, they will likely fall down at some point
  5. it's a stand alone question. in general. you've got a bolt in with thread loc and you want to re torque or check for tightness. if you move it at all, you break the bond, right?
  6. and I was just wondering why the foot is angled upwards and does not sit flat on a flat surface? for uneven surfaces? is this science or just fup duck?
  7. mine are still there. thanks for the replacement Tim.
  8. a slight diversion please.... when checking for tightness, or re- torquing a bolt you've previously used loc-tite/threadlock on, haven't you "broken" the lock?
  9. That one was discussed on WG recently. Consensus is that it's a 2002 Red-Grey LeMans that somehow got a Nero Corsa tank and tail. another possibility is it being an '03 "carryover" with some Corsa bodywork. the hints are 1. the rectifier is under the oil cooler (reversed on '02), and 2. the one (poor) photo of the engine looks to be the non-bubbling paint. the white gauges would still be correct for an early '03 but I'd guess those are not the originals, speedo at least. The title could say '02 if it were crashed or stolen, and the DMV went by the build date on the frame. anyway you look at it, wait for better. forgot to mention the decade old hydro fluids
  10. here's another https://bikescreen.com/products/moto-guzzi-v-11-sport-2001-2005
  11. beautiful bike voycie.
  12. Coarse yes, sorry I don’t have a gauge
  13. 35mm M12? Not too sure about the M but it measures about 11.6mm with calipers. I guess that’s a 12. Full thread Allen. Shnoor washer
  14. Dave, when I did my clutch swap, I noticed mine gone in the same spot. No idea how long I went without but there was no problems I could tell. The hole was perfectly lined up. scary tho. PM your add and I'll send you one. (if you can wait that long:)
  15. yes, and stay away from a seller calling it a Gucci
  16. another one bites the dust
  17. Going out on a limb here but... there's a short somewhere. go to the auto parts store and get a reset fuse (?). I did that when I had a short. saves you a bunch of fuses
  18. Some folks enjoy the analysis. I get it. I rely on passion for passionate pursuits. I got it wrong a couple times. No more than yourself. Knowing a little about MG history and zero about the V11 Sport/LM (didn't know of them) , it was love at first sight in '02. "yup, that's me" I was right.
  19. are you happy with your choice of charger? is that the 6 or 12a?
  20. Swooshdave's suggestion is perfect from my perspective. With a collection of such great bikes in your garage, the notion that you're looking at a Guzzi hints something may be lacking with the others. BTDT, and what the others lack, the V11 has in spades. Welcome.
  21. 14 K I ask because mine from new was a bit sticky between 1 and 2. Until the mileage got up to around 8k. I also "learned" how she liked to be shifted. Positively, and with the rpm's a bit higher than with my other bikes. (other advantages associated with high rpm shifts) She's around 14k now and very happy. I've done all the stuff Docc has suggested, and use Red Line Shock Proof heavy as lube.
  22. Mileage?
  23. I don't disagree with this. It should be noted that the bike can also be tuned to a very good state using the PC. Mine has been, and has functioned flawlessly and untouched for the last 6 - 7 years. I wouldn't add it now I'm more familiar with tuning, but I won't remove it while it runs this great. The bike also has intake and crossover mods (and now cans) and was dyno'd at Erico in Denver.
  24. I don’t see how they could have positioned the required sized air filter any other place. I have a Suzuki and have had two BMWs that require a lot more than just removing the tank. Worst thing about tank removal is the fuel line. And be prepared for tank “stretch” by watching what happens when the rear bolt comes out.
  25. I stripped a set, one each from 2 different bikes. One stripped clean with 1 coat. The other was so hard it still is not clean after 8 coats of stripper. I gave up. A powder coater will sand blast, and the finish will be hard and beautiful. If you want the polish look, they can powder very close to that too. Welcome rich, let us know how you get on.
