Both my '02 and previous '02 were angle drives. Murphy's may be an "upgrade" after angle drive failure.?? Does the "bent tube" cable just swap out with the older one?

I'll head that way on my own on Sunday, and just not cross the river. Southern Indiana is lookin pretty fine right now. Guess I'll have to wait till SR17 to see ya'll. Not too far off now, is it. I just got over a bad cold/bronchitis/maybe somekindof pneumonia... 2 months it took me. So take care Bill.

I wouldn't recommend removing the spring, at least switch it out with the seat release one first. With the clutch lever pulled in you should hear rattles (twin plate). It should be quieter when in neutral with lever released. true... twin plate clutch rattles when disengaged. single plate quiet when disengaged. (lever pulled in)

hmmmm ..I like the sound of this Scud. Maybe a combo of this idea and Chucks. Like him, I'd like to see the corresponding push rod surface to that rocker. I watched the vid several times (maybe a poor recording), but tho it is def louder on the right, it ain't That much louder.

2002 v11 Scura electrical issues....need help

I would worry about the battery. From experience I can attest to a battery that's been recently charged, can be faulty. Especially after being "maintained"on a trickle charger. An easy test is to use another battery. If you can't do that, take yours to a reputable battery store and have it checked. It's free, and you can go home with a new one if it's bad. Whatever you learn, wondering about the battery will be ended. -
You haven't ruffled any feathers here Blight. We're all just excited for you to get what you've been missing. A lovely 6spd, spine frame Guzzi. A fly n ride is the ideal way to retrieve her in in an ideal world. Reality sets in and well, that's the rub. On one hand I'm cheap enough to wait for it (but would still slip my buddy a few bucks for the favor) and on the other, impatient enough to rationalize the ship cost into the bike price, and go for it. The decision can be somewhat agonizing... I know. At least she awaits you If your buddy rides her, you may never see either one of them again.

makes me shiver a bit looking at that. I do wish you well.

Did the Scura fairing come with something on the lip of the fairing from the factory? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk It probably did come with the tubing. The LeMans did. Some makes have an "edge" molded into the screen. It would be cool to see wind tunnel results from various screen designs. I had a HD Road Glide once with a full fixed fairing. It was not at all noisy behind that. Very little wind, but still some turbulence at the top of the head. I cut the windscreen down a few inches and it was just right. A bit more wind, but less buffeting.
-
I have found that of the many ways to divert air with a windscreen or fairing, most usually create more turbulence than I like. That's what wears me out...buffeting. Truthfully, I'd rather have full direct wind than buffeting. The LeMans is a rare one in that, it's just right. I still get direct wind on the upper helmet, so there's no turbulence. The main body of the fairing carries away the rest. I'd recommend further experimenting with "lips" and the like. It doesn't take much to get a sweet spot. I had the MRA adjustable on my BMW and it was better when in the low to mid position, and terrible on full up. Try just a small length of tubing, split at the side, and push it on so it fits round the edge of the stock screen. Noise-wise... If you use a modular helmet(?) it will be noisy.

mine said "wrong chassis number"

you don't need to change it if you carry a spare.. :oldgit:LOL.. I wouldn't want to but it can be changed out on the road. Riverside, the future birthplace of Captain Kirk.. assume you know Jim Figgins? he's expert in Guzzi's..and one of the nicest guys in Iowa! HaHa too true foto! I changed mine AND carried a spare. Double confidence. If one is "planning" to do the change roadside, be sure to carry a little pouch of "special" tools for the job, and be sure to read through the roadside spring repair thread. The rally looks like a nice one>

yup

Nice video's Dangerous, thanks.

Spare shift spring? Did the p/o say if it has been changed yet?

something I looked at last year and posted... It got me thinking about a color change. Researching the vin breakdown, every number or letter is accounted for except the 9th. KR is the model (Sport?) and AKR is the variant (LM?) The 9th is described as undefined, or free. It has a range of 0 to 9. Anyone have any idea what that is for? None of the rest are reserved for color. The vin on both my bikes are the same but for the 9th (the LM is a 4 and the Tenni is a 6) and the last five (serial) I would assume one could paint a red one champaign, change it on the title, and no one would be the wiser. A Tenni would be harder to fake but not impossible.

based on my 2 bikes, which no gauges were replaced, the tach fades faster than the spedo.

ok,I will be following this thread! -
if yer talking about the offset difference, that is the way it's supposed to be. Right side is set out a bit for the bevel box and shaft.
