  1. "I think the exhaust hangers and the rear brake master cylinder cover should be black" and try it with black valve covers... since it's so cheap
  2. Very nice! I couldn't wait. Maybe a window will open for you for a fly-n-ride? It looks like the upper clamp is drilled for standard handlebar risers. That's a nice bonus.
  3. Is there enough meat there to tap for threads and an acorn nut? Also, it appears there is 3-4 mm more height on the monster peg? mmmmmm..... three bond
  4. Welcome Blight. Nice score on the Sport. Looks pretty stock, but the cans. Yer gonna like it! Can't wait to follow the progress. Pretty Honda too.
  5. I think those are hipsters. Millennial's would be taking a selfie.
  6. I wrote a line about the content of character but I thought it was in bad even worse taste. sorry, I don't get it
  7. looks Great uuu. welcome to the forum
  8. shouldn't a motorcycle be judged by the content of it's character, and not the color of it's frame? sorry
  9. It's on the calendar! It'll be down and back on Sunday for me though, and on the Strom. The goose is in pieces and I'm slow with sorting.
  10. front brake switch is notorious for sticking. careful when you pull it apart if you do. pieces will fall out. MGCycle has replacement switches reasonable.
  11. Wow! It's always great to have a tricky problem sorted out. Good job
  12. Done as advised. There was some kind of adhesive in there. It had hardened but removed with acetone/rag/scrub. Only a slight hang up going back in but still easy. 3 shims, no sealant, so the o ring must be the only "seal". Looks like a square o ring? so is the sealant in there factory, and/or is it a good idea to use some on reassembly?
  13. mine's bent. usable but bent. V11 Sport/LM probably any year. I'd look at maybe an aftermarket lowering or adjustable for both sides. thanks
  14. so docc, after reading much on the subject, I can't say with confidence that I know what to do. Left with a couple of questions. My timing sensor IS (tho not sure where) leaking and taking it loose, it does not want to pull out easily, as in, something is catching/dragging. It seems like I can if I pry or pull harder, I just don't know what to expect. Is anything going to fly across the room or am I disturbing timing when I do? Q2. what is the final story on the fix? #112 oil O ring still? While I have you... does the oil pressure switch tend to leak as well?
  15. When you go over the many posts covering the single plate clutch/flywheel, be aware the Ram 6 speed single plate "lightened" clutch is NLA, afaik. But.. the Ram 5 speed clutch will "most likely" work using the unique-to-6 speed parts that you already have in your bike. Note... I say "most likely" because I don't think anyone has actually done it. Research shows it's the same clutch except for the 'hub' and maybe the actuating rod.
  16. I'll have a glass of Champagne with an olive garnish (with pimento)!
  17. heck yeah. have a go at repair. finding one will be tough. finding one in your color, in good shape... you'll be very lucky... and may pay a lot for it. what have you got to lose?
  18. Do tell us about your led headlight experience swoosh. Some here have done led swaps and I'm still not sure which way to go.
  19. maybe just a muffler swap? I've not heard Neptune just watched youtube vids. on a Triumph triple they sound terrible. not good at low r's but nice as he gets into it on a 990KTM. I don't like the sound they make on the 675 either. The guzzi has to sound better than those!
  20. sorry man. me too, same deal tho no bodily injury. I'll be getting those ebay pegs too!
  21. looks like they do have one http://www.ebay.com/itm/1x-1157-High-Power-New-2835-Chip-LED-Red-Turn-Signal-Brake-Tail-Light-Bulb-/291562006120?hash=item43e2732668:g:9lIAAOSwLqFV8xyk
  22. I don't think I'd want one that flashed. Not sure why really. When I'm behind a car with them it's like being shouted at. Kinda like the people who drive with the flashers on. I'm sure that's the point, and is an extra step for safety. I just don't want to do it. I do like the super bright led idea though and will pursue that, along with some louder horns. If it's that bright, maybe that's enough? Modulating headlights bug me too.
  23. This is hard to get my head around. My pump (on an '02) is in front over the oil cooler. My filter is where your pump is. Your leak is coming from what would be the inlet end of my filter. Fuel goes to the rear to injectors. The leak coming from the front of your pump would indicate that being the outlet end. Is that the direction of fuel flow on this system? Maybe I'm not seeing it correctly, but what else would concern me is 1- whatever device that slows the pump whenever adequate pressure is met... ain't workin. and 2- fuel is being forced out the weakest point.. that be the hose coupling on the outlet. Maybe a small crack in the hose there.??
  24. well, I've always wondered about that thing. thanks for the explanation.
