Thanks guys. I am trying to simplify my life, so adding more motorcycle parts to my garage doesn't help that. I have taken the stock seat to a local guy to reshape etc. it wasn't that bad, but I think it could be better. Scud, don't you have a seat for Docc from that wreck you bought?

It's a reverse thread, so can't you just remove it if you want to pull the speedo again? I lost mine, so I have a spare not installed. I figure it will get lost too, and I don't really need to know miles driven. Not quite yet.

I had Todd re-valve and re-spring my '01 Marzocchis. Soooo much better. I added a Hyperpro 460 at the back and the thing feels like a new machine. Best $ spent so far. j.

Anybody have a Corbin on their V11? http://corbin.com/motoguzzi/v11gun.shtml I want a better seat for touring, and thought it might be something I could swap out for the stock seat and cowl as needed. I use a soft pannier style SW-Motech tailbag, and usually lose the cowl anyway when I have the bag on. The forward area looks a little, err, high, ergonomically speaking. Maybe not. Any reviews or thoughts?

A HUGE "Thank You" to all contributors on TB Sync and TPS Adj.

I know the relief when the bike finally runs like you imagined it would. At times it seemed hopeless. I tore my hair out for almost a year before really "getting it". Like Italian women, they need attention to run properly......but when "in tune", there is nothing like them. -
I finally got the H4 LED from Guzzitech. It is plug-n-play, all the wires and the little ballast fit fine in my 2001 V11 Sport headlight bucket, plenty of room in there, no squeezing or crushing needed. Nice bright headlamp now, even during the day. Much better. Also should be a lower draw on my original alternator, so thats a bonus....

I have had some harmonic high whine from the transmission at certain speeds in 5th or 6th. More whine than whistle. Not sure if we mean the same thing. That may be an issue of translation. But mine is intermittent. Does your do it all the time?

I carry a print of this under the seat, with the manual and registration. That way, I don't have to remember anything. My mind is full enough....

Thanks, my German is non-existent .... so can someone summarize what was required to fit the light and how well it worked out? Here's the model he used: http://www.truck-lite.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?storeId=10001&productId=92025 He says he added 2 relays ("double relay") to keep the power from running through the switchgear, "gedreht" or "turned" an adapter ring (no details on material) and used silicon to glue it in.

Kidding. But now that you're here, anybody ever had this happen, or know of it happening? I ask because when touring, I often load or unload my bags when still on the bike, and the sidestand wobbles and flexes a bit. It looks so flimsy. I don't have a centerstand, not sure if I can fit one with the Stucchi crossover I have. I do wish there was an side stand upgrade made of steel instead of the cast aluminum of the stock one. Anybody here ever found or fabbed one up? Or am I being paranoid?

I use the Becker Technik lifter which clamps onto the pork chop nuts. That way I can wrench away without fear that the bike slips off the stand. I lift the front using a floor jack, and have made a small wooden cradle out of 2x4's that distributes the load evenly over the sump. Due to the low stance of the sump, I have to hold the "U" shaped wood cradle in position while rolling the floor jack underneath. So, a little tricky, but is rock solid when lifted.

So, looking at these, you go: V11 Sport ECU 3 Pin (female) > 3 Pin (male) to 16 Pin OBD2 (male pins) > OBD2 (female pins) to USB (male) Diagnostic Cable > Laptop USB (female) Cool, thanks....

As the inlet is narrowed the pressure drops and it speeds up AKA the venturi effect. I would guess that the only time a larger inlet would make any difference is at idle or at the moment you crack the throttle. As the throttle is opened the only limitations at that point is the intake valve opening and speed. Those are my thoughts.

Docc: Since you and I have essentially the same bike (mine being slightly faster), and I assume the laptop is for working magic with Guzzidiag, can you share what exact cables etc that work with your bike and a Mac laptop....? If that is what you are doing.......? Muchas Gracias de California, Jésse

If you do the spring preemptively, you will learn that it is pretty easy, and a roadside repair is do-able. You will also feel better when riding, knowing you have repaired it, and if you need to do it again, you can. But get a set of "stubby" allen wrenches, you will need them. "Monkey paw trap"....funny, I knew exactly what you were referring to.

I might put blob of epoxy on those exposed wires. I think I asked before, but where did you get those reservoirs? Slick.

The day started hot. Then things got hotter. Start at City Hall, Pasadena, CA JB at the start, still looking fresh. That didn’t last long. Scud at the start, looking natty. This is after a 1.5 hour ride to get there. Seriously, he looked just like this even after the hot and sweaty event. How does he do it? Must be the Öhlins suspension. Scud hunted for other V11’s, and found this red & grey Sport, which kept stalling when we all pulled out. So embarrassing! I pretended I didn’t know him. During the ride, we fully explored the potential of first and second gear of the V11. A ton of Triumphs. A few two-strokes, zipping around like angry insects. Yahoos on Harleys. Some things never change. The end party, downtown L.A. . Parking was not thought-out very well. But, who cares? Everybody squeezed in. It was fun. I am expecting a better showing of Guzzis next time. In all black, like the Mob. -
The stock set-up is better to control vibrations. I only used the Manic ones because I installed aftermarket bars in order to clear the fairing. I can tell you the Manic Salamander weights won't work well with the stock bars, as they are slightly larger ID than standard 5/8" ID bars. One could machine down the stock bar weights to fit into 5/8". I almost did this. But the way they thread into the stock bars cannot be duplicated. So another problem to solve. Thats how I ended up using aftermarket bars and Manic Salamander bar-end weights. I think there are other throttle lock mechanisms out there, if that's a feature you are looking for. Hope that helps.

My weekend obligation went away, so I will do my best to make it on Sunday: http://www.gentlemansride.com/rider/jbbenson -
I wanted one, but it was difficult to find a vendor that not only had them in stock, but was willing to ship to the US. The Jofama comes in 42L and 52L. For comparison, my SW-Motech tabling is approx. 50L. I have heard the Jofama is a nice bag too.

http://www.manicsalamander.com/products/details-of-weights.aspx (This site doesn't work with Safari) I got the classic bar end weights as I am using Woodcraft clip ons. I got some cheap Chinese bar-end mirrors and put the spacer between the weight and the handlebar and clamped the mirror onto it. I did get the "outboard" mirror adapter, but they put the mirrors way too far out.

I have been looking for a good solution for panniers, or saddle bags, a tank bag, or a combination that fit and worked. I searched around, tried a few and returned most of them. Here's what I came up with: Chase Harper 1360BLK SR3 tank bag: It works with my SW-Motech Cargobag pictured here: I like the free form designs of both. I never liked the hard cases on the V11, I think they look too big and too "BMW"....soft panniers never seemed to fit right either......and the tank bag issue for the V11 was always a problem. I tried a few tank bags, including the SW-Motech, but it was too weird; the funny locking ring, the way it floats above the tank, the too-small or too-big size choices. Nah.

Got it. Done. Thanks.

Mine has disappeared. Since I am planning some road trips (starting with LA>SF) I sort of need it, if for nothing more than to time fill-ups. (Yes, I will be carrying a couple of MSR bottles of fuel just in case) Anyone know if I can get one, or what size the threads are inside (if any) so I can bodge something else?
