The bike is a '96 sport. No cooler was provided by factory.

I dont have an oilcooler and the original sump in place.

As far as i know, oil should be too hot nor too cold. So, it depends on where you live also. I have an oiltemperature gauge and it always surprises me how long it takes before the 80-90 degrees Celsius is reached. On a hot summer day comming with city traffic it rises up to near 100. Using Eni full synthetic oil.

I remember a black and gold serie LM-2 made for the British market. Wonder about the blue-serie since they do not really fit in the brands line-up. But they shure are beautiful :-) -
I decided not to buy these carbon pieces from Japan and keep the original parts. Approximate 330 euro's might be worth it but it's to much for me now. Therefore i experimented with the original mirrors. The problem is that most plastics do expand over the years resulting in less grip on the metal knob of the stem. Fixing this is not easy, since you need adjusting mirrors over at least two axis. Besides, there is not much space nor material to attach whatever. Find enclosed some pictures from the final solution, costing me less than 20 euro's. That rubber ring is needed for three reasons: [a] to be sure the strap (Wolfcraft #2917.000) will be pressed to the most outer diametre and it will press to the plastic housing only, not to the metal knob of the stem (that wouldn't work as you can imagine) and [c] adds friction in the rotating movement. As you can see, the rubber slipcover still fits perfectly around the new situation. Please notice that the mirrors are in an upside-down position. This is to have them horizontal on the bike. I think its looks great and fits to the low profile of my bike. All feels solid now and readjusting my mirrors in a usable postion is acceptable. If you dont like this upside-down position, the stem needs some minor bending by forcing it the hard way (eg in a vice). Swapping left to right vice versa doesn't work btw, things get only worse. Does anyone know how these numbers compare to the colour they were made in? My best educated guess would be at least 50% are red coloured but how about the black (i love'em) and those rare blue and silver ones? Just curious to know. -

Still nothing found to replace the old ones. I agree with Docc: bar end mirrors for my 1100 sport are a "no-go". So i'll have to find something else: Anyone experienced with these? http://www.moto-works.jp/products/rr-mirrors.html

Thanks for your recommendation. This is one off the companies i came across as there are many. My guess is, you've never seen one attached on a 1100 sport?

Hello guys. I'm riding my bike without mirrors since those crappy FAR's won't hold their position anymore. But it doesn't feel very safe to be honest. So i'm thinking of bar end mirrors to replace the FAR's. Does anyone have any experiences? Having the original clip-ons fitted it looks to me that not all models are suitable. What's your opinion on the Rizoma Spy-R models? Suggestions on gettin' the original mirrors back in shape are also welcome. Regards, Jan
