  1. Been talking with Bruno (Brian) on getting my lower chin spoiler and possibly the rear sets. Not a whole lot of options out there for pegs on a V11... I've asked for some more details and pricing on those. I think I may finally be DONE & DONE once the Ghezzi parts are installed! Regardless, I am glad that he's been receptive to our needs, and I hope he can be a regular source of parts for the N.A.market as he's been for Europe.
  2. Email sent off! Thanks for the good detective work...surprised he hasn't been around here before now. Too bad I already purchased that CF rear fender from TLM for almost twice the cost. So just a chin spoiler for me.
  3. Thanks guys, I will give it another go next weekend. I didn't get a chance to try again yesterday as I was busy tearing down an '03 Aprilia for restoration (i.e. no room to move the V11 out with Ape parts laying everywhere!) Now that I look at my own photo, it seems plainly obvious that it is a washer separating the two nuts.
  4. I do like the G&B solution better than the China solution.
  5. No, but it'd be sure nice to get back that storage space for a little while
  6. That's not a flange, it's a washer. Aha. Well I will try again! I thought it looked like a washer too, but it wouldn't come off... I will coax it off and see if I have a thin walled socket to fit. Thanks!
  7. So much for me making any adjustment today... can't loosen the jamb nut unless I remove the QUAT-D exhaust... Oh well. Maybe I'll look around further from the top later on and see if I can get access. Here's a shot of the acorn nut cover, and the actual eccentric adjust and (flanged!) jambnut.
  8. BTW I do have a couple spare pillion covers if anyone is interested in that part to be made in CF. I found one for sale in Germany a while ago (USA made part) but the guy wanted a million dollars to ship the damn thing so I passed. I have a spare CF front cowling too. I also have a spare tail piece and front/rear fenders in plastic, but those wouldn't be very fun to ship to China. Only reason I say this, is that this Chinese CF company seems to like to have all the major pieces available for each bike. We'd have to gather the two side covers, tail piece, pillion, front cowl, lower chin, front and rear fenders, and the starter cover. I've got a spare of that too. Bottom line, if somebody was willing to setup the deal and shipment to China, I've got 90% of the needed samples that I'm willing to temporarily donate to the cause (as well as my $ share for the chin piece etc.). Maybe they'd really really appreciate a full bike's worth of parts to replicate and have in their catalog....maybe not.
  9. Hey Nige! Glad to see you made it here to the forum! I guess you've been here for quite some time! I thought you were going to the electric bikes - did you decide to hang on to the RM afterall?
  10. Thanks! Will give this a shot tomorrow (with Paul and the boys playing in the background, if it helps). So no need to play with the other eccentric adjuster at this time?
  11. Here is the initial response we received from the Chinese outfit... Hi Sir We can not figure out the size of the chin spoiler, if you need us to make mould and CF parts for it, the mould fee maybe cost $100 more, and for the a carbon fiber part, it would cost $90. If you are interested, we will send you our address. Thanks Best regards Jacque In discussing with TwinAH, this price seems quite cheap as compared to their $300 Aprilia chin spoiler, which seems odd. Of course, we would have to send them a sample part as well, to which even plastic Acerbis ones are fairly hard to come by. I'll keep my eyes out for one. Bottom line, seems as if we could definitely get a batch made.
  12. No update from Harpers yet on the service bulletin.... but I think we've nailed down the two adjustment eccentrics - thanks for the drawings and info guys! It certainly looks as if #9 is easily adjustable from the outside (with flathead after unlocking the jamb-nut), but it isn't as clear for #32. If I can see a flathead screw tip on the #32 threaded rod, I will report back. After that, it's just a matter of figuring out a methodology!
  13. Email sent of some RM porn!
  14. Here is an example of their work: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Twill-Carbon-Fiber-Aprilia-RSV-Tuono-2003-2005-Belly-Pan-/321199938580?pt=Motorcycles_Parts_Accessories&hash=item4ac9021c14&vxp=mtr
  15. Wow this is great stuff guys, looking forward to playing around with this. I will take a close look at see if it is possible without removing the clockwork cover. Thanks for the info guys! P.s. Harpers called me today, and they are going to email me a copy of the service bulletin for the spring/cover kit. It sounds like my issue is not related to the pawl spring, but I will still post the bulletin here, just for completeness.
  16. I'll try to contact the outfit in China that makes the Aprilia pieces. Problem is, we would need a sample chin piece (plastic is fine I'm sure) sent to China, which may be a pain in the booty.
  17. Make that three...
  18. Really? You think it's just a matter of adjustments? That would be great if no new parts were needed. I had no idea there were two eccentrics in there to fine tune the shaft positions and ratchet. I guess you gotta be a Swiss watch maker to own a Guzzi too!
  19. Sounds good, thanks for the response. Just changed the gearbox oil 100 miles ago (page 8 of 16! http://www.v11lemans.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=18247&page=8) and I used the RedLine stuff, so I will either tilt the bike over far right, or drain and capture when it comes time to install the new parts. I am nearly certain that my 3rd gear shifting problems are related to these parts.
  20. Trying out a set of older Rizoma mirrors that I got when I bought back my '03 Aprilia Tuono last month. I remember when I first got the Ape, these mirrors were a shaky mess and I immediately ditched them for modern Aprilia mirrors. But on the V11, they are surprisingly stable, and I haven't even installed weighted bar ends yet. The mirror area is quite small though, and you are constantly dodging your head around trying to get a full picture of what's behind you. You probably can't tell in these photos, but the front turn signals have been moved back by about 1 inch. Before, they were rubbing on the carbon cowling, and making a helluva racket at certain RPMs. Now they are in the clear! Almost done here!
  21. Well, finally bit the bullet and installed a Power Commander. I found this one, brand new for $125. It is the older RS232 Serial version, but I've got plenty of laptops with serial ports laying around. I found a map for modified intake filters and the Quat-D exhaust. Only problem was that it was a newer .djm file format, so I had to manually convert it to the old .map format. But I will say, the bike has no fueling problems now, and I am very happy with bike's performance. It was so bloody easy to install, and for $125, it was worth a shot.
  22. Maybe some older repeats in here that have re-surfaced. Too bad about that low mileage blackie with the salt water pitting in New Orleans... http://sfbay.craigslist.org/nby/mcy/4760497702.html http://austin.craigslist.org/mcy/4761839724.html http://neworleans.craigslist.org/mcy/4745732782.html
  23. Does anyone see any reason to get the cover/arm/spring "kit" that Harpers sells? http://www.harpermoto.com/parts-by-motorcycle/2000-up-moto-guzzi-motorcycles/v-11-le-mans-sport-naked-1100-2001-2002/gear-box-selector-en-v11-lemans-sport-naked-2001-2002.html It is item #32 on the parts break down list. I am wondering if there are any design improvements on the cover as well? I am having problems getting into 3rd (but no other problems) and I was thinking of replacing the parts. Because my V11 is an early 2003 model year bike, I am thinking it should probably have this done.
  24. Congrats on the scura! I heard that the bike sold less than a day if being listed. Welcome to the V11 world!
  25. Nice fairing! Magni? http://losangeles.craigslist.org/wst/mcy/4742158924.html http://www.ebay.com/itm/Moto-Guzzi-V-11-SPORT-2000-moto-guzzi-v-11-sport-/251701532603?forcerrptr=true&hash=item3a9a9497bb&item=251701532603&pt=US_motorcycles
