  2. I feel pretty confident the suede seat on my Tenni was real leather (also faded).
  3. I also searched for a while to find a Stucchi Rack. Also shipped from Australia when I found it. Way better looking IMHO.

  5. Congrats on the new ride! I have the same yr/ model and love it. I purchased my GRiSO October '15, soon after the unfortunate demise of my V11 LM Tenni. I have managed to get a great full year of riding in, without missing a single month. I don't think I will have the same luck this year though, as the snow is coming down as I post. Two consecutive years of open winter are unheard of in Massachusetts, I expect we will be buried this season.
  6. I belive the raw hide mallet in Scud's kit is actually a stonecutters mallet. While it will persuade any number of things, it is a little heavier than a mallet typically used in wood working.
  7. I loved my Tenni , but after crashing I bought a GRiSO. It is a different ride though I am quite happy with it. I missed the protection the fairing on the Tenni provided as well as the handling. I have since added the "large screen"(no longer available from Guzzi) but there are other aftermarket options out there. You may want to check this model out.
  8. This failure is known to occur on the 1200 4v pre-roller models. Best to buy a post 2012 or an earlier model that has been "rollerized". There is lots of info regarding this issue on Wild Goose & GRiSO Ghetto forums.
  9. I looked all over for this rack for my Tenni. I finally bought a used one from Gregg and paid shipping from Australia. $119. is an absolute bargain!
  10. There's a nice clean Rosa Corsa for sale on wild goose, it might be easier to buy a spare!
  11. If you can't wait for John to sell his Rosso Corsa; check out the one on eBay right now. The competition is already there however...
  12. After the demise of my Tenni I purchased an 8V GRiSO, I am very happy with it. The things I miss however, are the lower, shorter bars and the fairing. I also hope to get the suspension sorted to match the ride of the Tenni. My GRiSO came with a Termi pipe installed (which I like). I find the stock exhaust a little over stylized, though I will keep it boxed for the next owner. I didn't move forward expecting an upgrade but a newer model may help keep me ahead of wear items and repairs. I will say all indications are that you should buy a post '12 or "rollerized" low mileage unit. Read threads on GRiSO Ghetto to get a handle on this issue. You mention riding position as a reason for making a move. The change to the stock bike is not that dramatic, many GRiSO owners opt for higher bars and lower pegs. I suggest you test one at a dealer to see if you like it.
  13. Gregg Has A set of under-mount clip-ons for sale on this site, check them out.
  14. My current fleet includes a '95 GMC Sierra 3500 (new everything) , '03 Volvo XC70, '10 Mercedes C class and my wife's 'Subaru Outback. This setup covers most the bases. I tend to keep the cars & trucks I like. If you keep spending more than they are worth on them, you can keep them a good long time. All I can say is, I am happy to be past the mini-van stage, I hated it from day one.
  15. '03 XC 70 here, my 19 year old son is putting on most the miles now however.
  16. I have an Odyssey PC 545 Brand NEW IN BOX that I will sell for $100. I purchased it for my LM TENNI pre-accident and never installed it. Unfortunately it will not fit in my replacement cycle. (GRiSO) It is not the same but I love it none the less.
  17. Put them back up on eBay with a BIN price to cover costs. Somebody needs them and you probably didn't spend too much.
  18. I realized my damper needed replacement because it was weeping. In the end I replaced it with the OEM Bitubo. I left it backed off and found it to be perfectly acceptable. I never had undesirable effects with the steering in any of the road conditions I encountered. (Though in disclosure, my speed never exceeded 120 MPH on smooth roads)
  19. That poor thing makes my "totaled" Tenni look concourse ready. I hope the rider fared better than the bike.
  20. Footgoose - I will try to keep abreast of the chain of ownership if I can. I really would like to know what went wrong. I can say it was nothing as dramatic as the exploding flywheel on the Scura, that we have all seen! The fairing got a good scrub on the left side and will probably be the hardest part to replace without paint. I definitely believe it is fixable.... I have seen some real wreaks resurrected.
  21. The body work and assorted parts on the left side, though the bike didn't look that bad considering. The only impact contact was with terra firma. The cause of the crash was an undiagnosed rear wheel lock up while in the process of negotiating a turn. I chose not to fight for possession, as the process of finding out the cause of the mechanical problem could have proven to be quite expensive. I do not have the resources & skills to do the work myself. I thought about having it fixed at first, but when my mechanic told me he thought that it was most likely was the transmission; I got hold of my emotions and decided to let it go. I really loved the Tenni but I probably would have had a hard time getting over the betrayal. Sorry to hear about your mishap,I hope you are both well now!
  22. I sing the gospel of ATGATT! I came away from a lowside on the pavement with a very bruised knee. For better or worse I intend to stay with the marque, though I may stray from the model.
  23. I am sorry to report that Tenni # 117 is probably off to the knackers. I had a spill at the end of August and the insurance company has totaled it. I settled today and turned over the title. Japp, I guess you can remove me from the the list.
  24. There is someone with a WTB ad for a Coppa Italia in the classified pages of the NMGOC web site. This might be the time to sell and get that California!
  25. I have a little over 1000 miles on my new set or PR4s and I am very happy with them. They hold the road well in dry and wet conditions.
