Sending them a report that they are showing a Sport instead of a Naked. Nice site Butt everyone has a big butt - Pee Wee Herman I have short shanks call it the Gorilla Build that works for a Construction Laborer so the leg angle is really off. 30 years ago I found out if I had normal shanks I'd be 4 inches taller --- just call me "stumpy" Also I see the site has some errors. By the site my V11 his 2" higher in seating than my Griso 1100 where I know the opposite is true. Mark

Before I look at weight distribution and "sag" of my Lemans I need to deal with weight distribution and sag of the rider. 45 lbs overweight and to much weight in the "middle". Mark

The "hammer" I've spent many years using; We called them '90's for a reason. My favorite was a Chicago Pneumatic with a good diesel compressor.

Rather than lower the river how about raising the bridge? Long Hair Buttpads are long and shaggy (1.5" to 3" loft), and can give more comfort because of their thickness. They are also available in natural colors. It was just enough to take a little kink out of my knee and it's shag! it's a '70's thing that worked great decades ago with an Alfa Spider.

I also have a Rosso Corsa but it's the rider that's much heavier. The bike is fine.

Ride to Work Day in Phoenix
not-fishing replied to bbolesaz's topic in Special place for banter and conversation
Yeah well it's 108 with about 30% Humidity today in Sacramento so I decided not to ride all week. I'm an ATGATT sort of guy that get's a little "rummy" when I'm cooking in all the gear I wear. yes it's mesh but it's old mesh. I'm going to get a new set from Italy after I loose 10 kilos or so. The worst riding weather in Sacramento is the 20 mph tule fog. It's very cold, your visor fogs over and you can't see -- or be seen. -
I've put in a Safego lamp in my Lemans with good results. Because the fan is in front of the socket the whole assembly is shorter. Safego Motorcycle H4 LED Headlight Bulb H/L High Low Dual Beam 20W 2000lm Motorbike H4 LED Lights Kit M4-H4 https://www.amazon.com/Safego-Motorcycle-H4-Headlight-Motorbike/dp/B01C1AOSVS/ref=sr_1_1?s=automotive&ie=UTF8&qid=1496957775&sr=1-1&keywords=Safego+Motorcycle+H4+LED+Headlight+Bulb+H%2FL+High+Low+Dual+Beam+20W+2000lm+Motorbike+H4+LED+Lights+Kit+M4-H4 At $20 it's hard to beat and less than half the cost of the bulb I put in my G11 years ago. Recently I purchased a second Safego to put in a V50 III. No test yet it's still in the box. I have to finish installing the new AC compressor / drier in my wife's Durango and my daughter has me scheduled this weekend to install a new fuel filter in her 3rd Gen Toyota MR2. With four grown kids it seems like there's always weekend work for me at "Dad's" Garage or "Dad's" Plumbing or 'Dad's" Carpentry or "Dad's" tree falling..... Still my kids are great and well worth it -------- now their mothers are utterly worthless.

Well I did the injector clean only Dremel & Vicegrip took over an hour to destroyed one of those stupid flat head injector screws. I sent them off to Russ Collins. Precleaning report was: Injector #1 261.0 cc/min with good pattern, Injector #2 237.0 cc/min with dripping pattern. After cleaning report: Injector #1 270.0 cc/min with excellent pattern, Injector #2 269.0 cc/min with excellent pattern. I did have to clean about a 1/2 cup of oil blowby in the airbox and the bottom third of the throttle bodies were black with carbon/oil. On a short ride the Rosso Corsa ran amazingly better. This weekend I'll take it on a couple hour windy ride in the Gold Country to confirm the fix. I'm thinking the Injectors should be cleaned every 25-30,000 miles. Now that I've put regular allens in they'll be easy to take off.

Well I've done SuperbrightLED's conversion but I have to go back and wire in the incandescent fuel bulb in parallel. socket is coming from Superbright One other problem I'm having is the green neutral glows at the start of a shift into/out of neutral but doesn't stay on while in neutral. Does that sound like another "load" problem (meaning I solder in another original incandescent bulb or just go back to the incandescent)?

Good news you weren't hurt because it comes back to haunt you. I've broken both my collar bones. The right side was particularly nasty. Riding horses and bicycles. Mark

No, sorry I bought an old Stucchi Rack from Australia that cost about the same. It also uses 4 mounting bolts. http://www.v11lemans.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=19675

I'm at least the 3rd Owner so who knows how the original install was. The shifter instructions are to put the pivot arm at the 7 o'clock position - I'm probably at 6:45. I did move the shifter back a little. Yeah the sleeve bolt - that's the sloppy point that will need attention every 10,000 miles or so. Mark

My Rosso Corsa has been shifting progressively worse and worse. After a commute yesterday I realized it was time to see what is going wrong and how to fix it. Here's a stolen (Slug) pic of the shifter. Basically the shifter was loose so I took the footpeg and shifter assembly off the bike. It's really kind of Micky Mouse because it uses a sleeved bolt to move the linkage out from the actuating arm attached to the shifting shaft. This is mandated by adapting bracket, adjustable shifter and new footpeg assembly. I can see why Motobits designed the forward + drop footpeg assembly and it may be the best compromise. Still it's going to need maintenance and will not be a set and forget shifter. So my being basically a Construction worker, I put the shifter arm assembly in a vice I beat on it with a (very small for me) hammer and straighten out the arm offsets to 90 degrees. Then I reinstalled the arm so that it was as far out on the shaft as possible while keeping the 5mm cinch bolt in the output shaft slot. I attached the shifter arm at a slightly less than 7:00 position and put the rest of the assembly back keeping the offset bolt+sleeve portion fairly tight. This necessitated a back roads Bonzai ride last night to test out the new LED Headlight bulb and shifter everything works great! Mark

Since I'm one of the "Duck & Cover" generation and new to V11 LeMans I didn't pay heed to those who grouch about cramped knees. I did 13+ hrs in one day on my Griso. Well now I understand and suffer. So far my longest V11 ride is 3+ hrs. The clip-ons don't bother me, the reach/lean doesn't bother me but being of stouter build with thicker legs my knees bother me. My test solution is to go retro with a 70's approach. Rather than lower the pegs, raise the seat. To do this I found: Of course I have to get it in the longest shag possible for maximum height. My first short ride shows that it does help and if necessary I might add a 1/2" pad. Soon as the weather clears enough a 4+ hour ride should tell me if I'm going in the right direction.... Mark

I picked mine up from Guzzitech and added the LED post license plate lights along with the "back-off" flasher. California roads and freeways tend to be a little crowded with people on their cell phones or doing make-up so I'm happy with the flasher.

BREMBO 320MM BRAKE DISK, 1998-2015 [PART NUMBER: 01613330] $222.02 MG cycle. My local independent Duc/BMW/Guzzi guy warned me against using off-brand rotors with Brembo's. I had to replace my Griso's rotors at 45,000 miles because they were so "rattle-y" which I attributed to aggressive canyon braking. By others, I ride like an old man who doesn't like using brakes.

A new record for me, 4,000 travel to purchase a Lemans
not-fishing replied to not-fishing's topic in 24/7 V11
Weekend after labor day 2017??? Might be a plan but I'm going to limit myself to 800 miles per day on the Lemans. A man's got to know his limitations...... -

Where did you go to pick it up ? Folsom, Ca to Minneapolis, Mn and back again. I'm hoping to make a trip in the next couple of years to visit my Uncle in Tennessee on the Lemans. My longest time riding is 13 hours in a day on my Griso. It's not so much an Iron Butt but more an Iron Back. I have to get off every 90 minutes or so because my knees don't like being folded up all the time. https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=442659702571301&set=a.442660582571213.1073741827.100004818247685&type=3 The bike originally came from Seattle and one of the previous owners drilled the upper triple clamps for regular bars. The next owner reinstalled the stock clip-ons. At $400 for a new triple clamp I'm just going to plug the holes and ride it. -
Not bad for 63. 4,000 miles in 41/2 days, Jeep towing a U-haul box to purchase a Rosso Corsa. Rotten Jeep battery cost me half a day and many trips walking to / from Napa parts house. Still I am thankful that I wasn't 50 miles from nowhere. Also I had to come over the Sierras during a record rainfall. Maybe that's why I was the only one on the freeway over the summit. So that beg's the question that I've asked on the Wild Guzzi forum; "What's the furthest you've ever traveled for a Guzzi Purchase?" Mark
