stewgnu, do you have the mistral cross over as well? My understanding as much performance and sound comes from the Xover as does the cans? Also, do you run a custom fuel map?
-
Nah IMA wimp just want a stock look with a little sound and would like to try a custom fuel map
-
I like the look of the MG mistrals just wonder if they have the deep base sound of the M4 oval carbons?
-
Are the m4 oval carbon mufflers available anywhere? Thanks PS if not what is the closest look and sound?
-
How do I adjust slack out of throttle cable? I don't see any cable adjuster Thanks

Scud, I chased tuning issues a long time until I finally got Guzzidag going and found the previous owner had been messing with the CO trim. I move it around a bit and eventually just put it back to zero. Also, the bike is extremely sensitive to exhaust leaks. I went with the machined metal bushings in the cross over to get everything sealed up. the 3000 rpm hiccup finally left after that. If I use ethanol gas it will pop once in a while. With premium non ethanol it runs perfect. How did you set your sag up on the suspension? I had my Sachs re built by race tech and haven't got around to adjusting it yet. Thanks and great work on that bike!
-
Hey thanks for the quick reply. So slight sag differential is all that is needed sounds like. I will measure mine this spring
-
Tom, did you have to mod those Rizoma pegs to go on there? Thanks
-
docc, tell me how you set up sag with forward bias please! Thanks. Sorry for the hijack. I will be lowering my pegs soon.
-
Steve S, can you post a quick pic with your Apex clip ons? Did you have get longer cables?
-
Mike over at wild guzzi runs mobil 1 in everything and over 40k on his v11 so I put it in mine and have done about 4000 miles. No leaks or burn so far. Even use mobil 1 grease on the drive line

wow that is a really cool spring idea. I will be on the lookout for a spring. I think my problems may have started from my foot inadvertently hitting the pedal. Havent heard of the intermittent pedal from heat only fade. I would get new fluid in there asap, check for rotor warpage, check master cylinder for return etc. The spring idea is the best Ive seen in a long time! kudos!
-
mine was a pain the but also. First I check the rotor with a dial guage set up on it. It was about .005 out. I marked it and massaged it with a large crescent wrench and got it within .002 (Do this at your own risk....I saw some youtube videos on this) Then I just took it off, cleaned it up really well. Lubricated the sides of the pistons with a tiny little bit of high temp brake pin grease from NAPA. Then I bent the keeper spring until it was almost flat so that it would impart more pressure on the pins/pads. (do this at your own risk..I have never read about this but had to try something). Then I put the same grease on the pins and the holes in the pads with a small paint brush. Then I replaced with DOT4 fluid which the manual calls for...I think its high temp. I wired the caliper up as high on the bike as I could so the nipple was facing up and bled it a lot with an old brake pad stuck in the caliper to clamp on. I used a vacuum bleeder then finished it off with the pedal. So far so good. I have always had problems with the rear pads dragging and heating up the rotor.

ANSWERED cleaning headlight from inside?
dl.allen replied to st. augustine's topic in Technical Topics
thanks for posting I assume the lemans is the same one I get the bottom faring piece removed -
Great thread keep up the good work! I will be referring back to it in the future. What is the story of the exhaust cans? They were cut, shortened and welded back up? Are you considering aftermarket? I have been considering a cross over and cans for mine
-
anyone have a pic of the 1/4 inch hole drill hole in the tach mod? Having a hard time understanding where to drill. I have a lemans so maybe different
