  1. The post came today with a new front brake lever, a re-build kit for the rear caliper and also a fresh pin & spring. So that’ll be a nice 2/3 beer job 🙂.
  2. haha! reight gud, tha’ knows?
  3. i think we need to be careful, there’s a shed-load of mis-information doing the rounds: ‘sipping water can wash the virus down into your stomach and the acid will neutralise it’, ‘drinking hot brews will increase your immune system’, ‘laughter yoga is good for your chakras’ etc etc etc. bullshit piled upon bullshit unfortunately. I guess it’s best to stick to official guidelines at the mo. on a related note: i’m just back from a lovely ride all around derbyshire, came back thru matlock bath (traditional biker haunt) and it was absolutely packed. like rammed. apparently the coast in the uk is too, so as typical brits, it’ll take the police + military to be rolled out before people start treating this seriously 😐. my pal up in scotland said the authorities have been turning back folks in campervans who are scarpering oop norf to isolate... oh well, stay healthy guys. and no kissy kissy!
  4. ace cars. i ran a 940 for a few years, still one of my favourite cars. i remember the first time i used it on a freezing cold day- a most welcome heated seat and the de-mister cleared the windscreen in seconds! absolutely brill.
  5. we can go out for rides though can’t we? as long as you don’t bin it through the window of an old folks home..?
  6. Hard to fall out with a mean greenie!
  7. I like the different fonts! Haa!
  8. Ah good good, glad you got sorted.
  9. I have a couple of jobs coming up where i’ll be the sole person on site so, assuming I can purchase the materials I need, I may be able to crack on somewhat. We’ve our 17 month old spud, who’s 30% whingepig/70% delightful, at home so spending time with my family is a pleasure. Seeing society go thru phases of panic, madness and mis-information is weird though... What was that phrase: “Any society is only three missed meals away from chaos” (or something similar)? Makes sense, whereas “Any society is three sheets of bog roll away from chaos” has a different ring to it. Social media has made me realise that the world’s actually full of experts...
  10. Vic, so sorry, I missed this request. Yes I think I do have one of those, let me know whether you’re still hunting and we’ll take it from there. stew
  11. What’s the asking £££?
  12. Wow, that’s fairly alarming
  13. Oh man, sorry to hear that, you just got a few scrapes? Nothing too long term painful? I guess, depending on whether you want to, you could buy a fresh v11 and retain the old one for stripping and inspection. If it’s in a bad way you’ll have plenty of spares? I know that informed opinion is that v11s don’t crash well, but I’ve suffered 2 low-speed low sides and managed to fix her up fine.
  14. Ahh, I thought it looked like some damage.
  15. Oh dear god.... and the crackle paint finish.... urk
  16. Have to agree with footgoose here. I’ve had various suspensions, flyscreens and handlebar setups on mine- haven’t discerned any major differences beyond tailoring for my own comfort/preferences. They’re all the same bike- I think it really does come down to what colour do you like! Never used the larger fairing though and I bet there’s a real difference there (nicer at speed? Bit more mph?)
  17. I found that when I tied the latch cable to the subframe it altered the path so it now loops around well away from the relays. Good idea about cushioning with a scrap of squishy though!
  18. That’s a good one to know! All sneakily hidden away tsk!
  19. Excellent sauce. Cheers docc! I’ve not had a problem till now but I’m guessing that miles and miles of good vibes thru the latch cable may have stressed the relay base (or just that relay) causing consternation in the system.
  20. Hey up guys, A couple of instances of non-starting lead me to noticing that how the seat cable is routed results in it pressing up against the rearward relay. I’ve lashed it to the sub-frame now so that’s that, but might be something to check? What is that relay for again? Basically I had a starting failure where the bike was priming and cranking fine but not firing up. I did an amateur relay wiggle which did the job so am wondering if my diagnosis is correct? Docc- I remember seeing that you’ve labelled your relays, can you post a pic purlease?
  21. I would agree... but my blibblob is pretty much a sport now due to no fairing and clip-ons. Love the paint job on a tenni though- gorgeous shade of green
  22. I spend a few mins with 320 grit wet n dry to get them clean, then 1200 grit to finish. Don’t know whether that’s an acceptable way to do it, but it works alright.
  23. I have one going spare, in the ballabio grey.
  24. On another another note, I can recommend silkolene pink ‘racing’ grease: It’s the only stuff that is still present when I go to dismantle anything. The drive splines, axle, needle bearing, race + washer all get a good glob every time.
  25. It’s the bolts that actually hold the caliper halves together. Can be easy to start undoing them instead of the mounting bolts if you’re (I’m) not vigilant. And damned if I can’t find any torque figures for them. yeah, my pin and spring are a tad crusty looking. I’m putting fren sintered pads in this time, the last set were brembos which were fine but pricey and wore very quickly. Or the rubbers are knackered and not retracting the pads properly... On another note, the hangar is merrily shedding it’s paint, and the swingarm’s been beaten up by the naff hugger, so I should really get on a train to paintsville.
