I think forum opinion is not to over-tighten the filter dave (and to mind that the old wubber filter gasket has been removed too). Some folks, me included now, secure the filter with jubilee clips to prevent it loosening off. Not sure whether a bonding agent is necessary on the sump gaskets- i’ve never used it and, although i do have a bit o oil coming out from somewhere, it’s not from the pan.

So.. grinding material off the arms doesn’t affect the system tolerences at all? I ask because i do not know.

Stew, Worth getting a pair of cylinder protectors. Gutsibits do those that use all the bolts, not just those on the outer edge.Sent from my D5803 using Tapatalk Yes i had, and will have, protectors fitted. The bike slid down the road about 30 feet or so and ground the protector completely away. It did it’s job very well- the road just started to bite into the rocker cover. No damage to the fins thankfully.

There are covers available for earlier models that are much, much older than the v11

Anyone know whether the v11 covers are specific to the v11?
