How much are they? There're some nice looking mivv silencers on ebay at the moment for £380. A taxi driver reversed into my bike last week wrecking the lovely titanium mistral so i'll be needing new ones too. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2-EXHAUST-MIVV-X-CONE-ST-ST-M006LC2-MOTO-GUZZI-V11-2002-02-2003-03-2004-04-/111876652254?hash=item1a0c5e3cde:g:~dAAAOSwpRRWmjR0

Awesome. one day i'd love to visit the west coast parks. https://ci4.googleusercontent.com/proxy/m610q2zkDsbswk2dqQJwYT6Tg-E0vEXN-ChLCNqSlyJD_HdBUJ2xDsJQz-dpx-JBmYIqLBqNOf3QqL3r_S7z1HDpgaa6mey3-oy5u_TC5JJqSkaacxcc7jlpKLMN9RGsLWf5_jpGx1lfwFycxS7Kj__3xVmcSqv58KeOBi7qC3KvDkjro-PVVeRE5vTMTw=s0-d-e1-ft#http://www.slightlywarped.com/crapfactory/curiosities/2013/march/images/historical-photos-pt3-california-lumberjacks.jpg https://ci5.googleusercontent.com/proxy/MOuN7GRcRs_-trdDxKn-lVqa8ET_qzjs-NCwgw6NHWwY_G5PWMviEtLTzS2iJ4wfHqSUan2DUY9jsYRN-rhPqBFnBi-s0kY1OipO666hqXIFd6Vhk__GNoswu-AZi9JBSDJOGYlupiaqb0RcF3Ckl0rKKf-LRjVnzY8bvvmdKOSIO3H7RVMDbcsgbQhbQMo=s0-d-e1-ft#http://www.slightlywarped.com/crapfactory/curiosities/2013/march/images/historical-photos-pt3-california-lumberjacks2.jpg

Hey up jb, i checked my bike's tps today- it was reading low at 90Mv. Checked plugs too and they were bolloxed. Once sorted the snatchiness disappeared completely, now feels lovely at lower speeds.

Almost back on the road ... minor electrical glitch

Definitely not a crudded up neutral switch? -
Mine's got a little snatchy of late too. One easy way around it is to rotate the throttle from the elbow rather than the wrist. Kinda extending the lever effect and allowing more control over small throttle inputs. Free too and keeping me going till i get round to a proper tune-up. Throttle Tamer is an interesting idea but possibly a sticking plaster? ... Having had her running very well in the past, i don't think we should put up with crappy low speed performance.

These clips have been awkward to fit....... The old 'bars I was using: Tarozzis set in foremost position: Everything fitted perfectly in the forward position, but the stretch gave me wrists awful gip and alarming head-shakes... So I tried: Tarozzis set in rearward position: This position felt comfortable enough, but as the master cylinders fouled the top of the forks I had to lower them. This led to a vague feeling from the front end. Set any nearer and the risers would hit the tank when turning the bars. So compromise was: Finally got some measure of satisfaction here. Wrists quite happy, forks set just right in the yolks which gives a great feel thru the suspension and no head-shaking. Cables etc seem routed well. Only problem, and it'll need addressing, is that with the risers turned 'flat side forwards', the master cylinders rest up against them. This means they won't rotate down for comfort. I shimmed the brake lever forward 1mm, not ideal but it works. Can't shim the clutch lever forward due to the fast idle control so the clutch is a bit uncomfortable. I could take a file to the risers maybe and nitch out a groove to allow the master cylinders to rotate but I'd like to hear other opinions before doing this!

She's referenced a fair bit in a book i read recently titled 'Chasing the scream' by Johann Hari. It's concerned with the history, and failure, of the authorities to deal with various drug issues during the last century. Written well and froma journalistic perspective rather than overtly biased, I recommend it highly to those interested in facts and truths on this topic.

Interesting. I've just had a slightly low, grumpy idle manifest itself. She usually idles happily around 1100-1200 but lately she sometimes bimbles around 900. This along with some popping when decelerating to a stop and becoming more difficult to ride smoothly a low speeds. Only thing i've messed with recently are the 'bars so i wonder if the issue lies there, like JB mentions. I'd thought i had groomed the cables really well but possibly a re-check is in order. I too was thinking exhaust leak? Inlet wubbers??

Sincere apologies to All for bringing an unwelcome slice of the Real World into this superb forum. I shall henceforth stick to barked knuckles + confounding electrical issues!

Quote- 'Conventional wisdom, and this forum's guidelines, are "Don't discuss religion and politics."' I hear you Scudders, but i wasn't making any religious, nor political, assertions. Just don't like racists. Any racists on this forum: I don't like you neither. I agree with the rest of your post whole-heartedly. Docc- sweet music numbs the pain good buddy. Phil- Heh!

For better or for worse, the uk voted out of the eu. I think we all expected some backlash of sorts but my word..... How the jingoistic racists have crawled into the sunlight. Racism: A line of thinking long since identified as morally repugnant, ignorant, fatuous, counter-productive and downright ugly. Yet, like other residual crap dogging us as a species and preventing us from fully embracing a wiser future, it remains entrenched in the hearts of our lesser members. I read today that swastikas have been grafittied onto bus shelters in my local area. A belgian couple I know: Beautiful, kind, intellectual people, have been on the receiving end of various bigoted nonsense from gobshites both face-to-face and on social media. There was footage of a man claiming he voted 'out'- of the eu remember- because he didn't want any more 'african muslims' coming into the country... I was saddened by the result of the referendum, but feel somewhat desolate upon hearing of the above happening.

Would there be a, relatively, quick set of checks possible with a multimeter set to resistance??

Hmm, can't quite tell off'v that teeny photo, but they look similar to the guzzi soft panniers + rack that i have. Does your set-up not come with a separate bridging piece to connect the side frames? On mine it bolts to the rear reg plate assembly.

Also, as i've been piddling about with my new clip-on set up, which provides various configurations, i have been amazed (really!) at how the changes have affected the ride. First position, far forward, quite 'droopy' bars, and with the forks set to manual specs in the yolks resulted in beautiful feel thru the marzocchi suspension- best she's ever felt. Yet also had me experiencing my first bad shakes thru the front end when razzing about over rough road surfaces and wrecked my wrists after an hour... I brought the bar position back, meaning i had to raise the forks back up for master cylinder clearance, 'flattened' off the angle, and now my wrists are happy, the bike looks the tits, but it's taken the edge off the sublime feeling from the suspension. I think i'm fairly jaded with dis- and re-assembling it now.... And fed up riding about with 4,5,6 and 8mm allen keys jingle jangling about in my pocketses...

I've found that a 'cupped' front tyre can seem to give weavy-wallow in long fast corners...
-
Yeah, plus they look reet good. No WC 54mm clamps to be found, apart from second-hand buell ones thru 'merican ebay though (£50 postage plus whatever extra charges they see fit to impose). My original need for a solution was due to hamfistedly strippin two of the four threads on my ballabio handlebar risers.... I tasted one and it seems to be made of some delicious chocolate. Day off today! So i'm a-waitin in for my tarozzi's to be delivered. Then i'll need to decide whether to have them powdercoated all nice n black.
-
Ok, i dun took my own advice... I could not find any woodcraft 54mm clips for lurve nor beans. Even woodcraft themselves don't have any. So I have purchased some Tarozzi raised clips instead. UK stockist DiscoVolante sell them in our sizes for £138. I shall take some snaps when they arrive and when fitted in case anyone else is interested.

Ah. Erm, well it's a 'Koso Cafe Combined.' Try this link: http://www.moorespeedracing.co.uk/cafe-racer-guages/koso-combined-gauge-for-cafe-racer.html Currently building a teeny wee hood to shade my makeshift fuel lamp. -
Hi, looking for some Woodcraft clip ons, any going wanting out there? Stew

Help needed figuring out fuel level electrics

That's a great solution. This is the unit i have installed- all the idiot lights are set into the face itself, except the low fuel indictor as i don't think our sender system is compatible. Hence my routing to a separate bulb set into the back of the headlamp: https://www.google.co.uk/search?q=koso+cafe+combined&newwindow=1&client=safari&channel=ipad_bm&prmd=isvn&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwi7u8KN0Z_NAhVqDsAKHbVHBR8Q_AUIBygB&biw=1366&bih=928#imgrc=1U9i5xnR2Vt2IM%3A -
