TPS thread says to disconnect at the ball joint. Had a look, had a prod, cannot figure it out. Thought I'd best ask t'experts before grabbin the cold chisel+pein hammer.

There's the mistral crossover and titanuim cans on her at the mo. I've been suspecting air leaks ever since the left throttle body got blown off. I suppose next step is 2 safety pins and a look at the tps reading- which is what t'other chap (lugs) was about to sort. At least it aint stopping me riding it though!

Cheers folks! All back together, no leaks. Still getting slight rough patch around 2500 - 3000 revs though... kinda feels like a pulse backing up thru the system. I'm starting to ride around it but that part of the revs is exactly where I find myself when accelerating out of roundabouts/slow corners. Wonder how that other chap with the surging Ballabio got on.....

Hi All, Am I correct in thinking that the torque figure for the head cover bolts is 8 - 12NM? I'm buttonin her back up tomo after a valve check... Ta in advance, Stew.

How did it go? Have you done the tps etc tune-up? Did you check yer boots??

Hi up PDoz, The neutral light on my ballabio stopped lighting a couple of months back. I pulled the swich, soaked it, worked the mechanism against the bench for a while and replaced it (twice). Now it, mostly, seems to work fine... Someone suggested that there may have been a bit of crud in there preventing a clean contact. Whether this applies to your prob or not I don't know but it's a quick & simple bit of work. Just out of interest on the false neutrals: Are you getting that happening a lot?

I'm off up to visit my pal in Kilmarnock in a couple of weeks for a jaunt over to Skye- he says it's breathtakingly lovely. Also hoping to ride the A9 before they turn the speed cameras on!

There's various posts regarding airbox fettling to increasing flow. There's also comments that v11s run a tad lean (earlier on in the range anyway). Is it worth starting to chop away at the intake or does this lead to fueling tweaks being required, etc, etc to compensate? Ta, Stew

A productive morning! GM you were spot on- I felt it spit on my leg on start up just before the issue arose yesterday. In hindsight I'd been vaguely aware of slight pippin n poppin from the left side for a few days. So it must've been working it's way back. Easy fix to slacken jube clips and worked it back into place. Added bonus: The re-appearance of my neutral light following switch removal, soaking in wd and frantic tapping against the bench. Extra Super Bonus: A feck and a fiddle with some wiring brought the oil light back into play. More Bonus: Seat latch cable slack de-slacked, so can open seat sans bad language! Hey! The sun's out! I'm off out for a ride!

Hi All, Just limped home with the left side sputtering and engine cutting out at idle. At first inspection I thought the rubber had moved preventing a good seal to the injector but on comparison to the other side it looks like the entire housing has somehow shifted back into the side panel. Have I done this by accident with my leg/boot I wondered? Anyone had a similar prob? Bit late now for fettling so will hopefully sort tomo (whilst also tracking down eejit light issues). Hmmm, that's interesting... Aside from my dicky neutral light, I don't seem to have the charging or oil lights lit up either... Low fuel light still works though so I suppose I should be thankful ... ?

Usually they corrode, build up a lot of green insulating stuff inside (brass contacts). Hubert Hee hee! Out riding today, came to a stop to gaze out over toward Stanage Edge (Damn pretty!) Turned the bike on: Green neutral light! Had time to mumble "Hoorayy!!" and it went out again. My bike's got a frickin sense of humour! So I thrapped it around the hills some more. Just to show it who's in charge here. I guess you're right Hubert; the switch wants fettlin. Stew

I've noticed similar with mine: With hands off the bars, say tracking downhill on closed throttle, I can feel forces working in the bike to favour the right side. I kinda assumed it was the crank spinning. However, it's subtle and doesn't bother me when riding 'normally'. I like how I can do this on my W650 (chain drive) and she tracks nice and straight. Stew

Ay up Steve, yeah it won't earth thru the switch. I'll try cleaning it one more time and if no joy will have to buy a new one (£35 eek!) The main reason I posted was to find out if anyone knew why these switches fail as, to my inexperienced eye, they look like they should be fairly robust.
