  3. 80CX100, Yes to the cable light. Interestingly enough, there was a paper sticker on the face of my ecu which was shot. Faded, fuzzy, and unreadable. It seemed odd that an ID sticker would be made of a material that degraded like that. Especially on a something that's spent its life garaged. I scraped it to see what was under it, and there was a ecu ID sticker . Why it was covered, and with what, will remain a mystery. 15M now. Recently I also found a cleverly hidden cable with a plug connection. Probably for the lambda. When I purchased the machine I had a local shop that had a dyno install the bits and pieces and program the Power Commander. Dynoed in at 103 hp. It's run perfect until recently. Doubt that they did anything with the lambda. I'm back to cracking the G/D and getting into the ecu. Took a bit of a digger hiking the other day, saved my face but didn't do much good for my arm. It will be a few more days before getting my arm moving again. I can at least pound away the computer . Thanks for your suggestions.

  5. Pops under neutral to extremely light acceleration/deceleration throttle around 2800 to 3800 rpm. Below 3k it seems hesitant to the idea of acceleration. Will also hick-up idling, occasionally stopping the motor. Especially cold. None of this happens all the time. Seems to backfire at speed more once it warms up, but idles better. Going to check the valves and tps this evening just to be redundant. I will be trying to get the GD to connect also. Thanks

  7. No noticeable difference in the way it runs . Just ain't right, and still pops, farts, backfires. Ticks me off ! Takes all the fun out of it. The up side is it blows all the dust out of the air filter every time it backfires !!! That's a mighty clean air filter ya' got there Son ! I've tried loading the reader more than 50, less than a 100 times. AND will continue trying because I'm a glutton for punishment. Probably go through the tune up and air leak routines again. Hoping it is something mechanical (much easier to deal with than the flow of electrons). Guzzler you are correct about the PClll's back in the day and Tomchri I'd like to know what fine tuning you use the 5 lb sledge hammer in the lower left of the first pic for ? Did you threaten your electronics ? Please let me know if it works. I'm starting to get the urge myself.
  8. I do not have a Lambda sensor on the crossover which as memory serves me is F by F. W/Mistral cans and K&N filter. So ,I am Ditching the PClll and I'll continue without it. Starting over. I don't understand "closed loop" or much else about the mapping and am going to seek info on it to understand it better so I don't F#*&! anything up. Thank you all for helping. Will post progress. Lost the PCommander. Checked the cable download. Good. Still only getting to the point where the drop down asks "Ignition off for 10 sec, hit ok, turn on ignition, if you hear the fuel pump, close the program and try again. Again and again, many times. Well I continually hear the fuel pump each time. (Does the program normally keep the fuel pump switched off?) If I continue and hit ok, a timer starts on the bottom of the drop down (15 sec) for switching the ignition on. If I proceed and turn on the bike on I'll get a notification box stating ,"Switch ignition off." So its either not connecting to, or not "seeing" the ecu for some reason. I've tried mznyc's suggestion of trying over and over to no avail. At a loss as to the issue. Perhaps I'll borrow a laptop w/windows to eliminate a problem with the laptop I'm using. Doubt its that, but grasping at straws. Think I'll take it for a spin and see what's changed in the way it runs with the stock map.

  10. Thanks. I have done the decent tune up 3 times, and will preform it again, just to make sure again its correct. And sprayed everything down seeking air leaks. I've just seen a list of the ecu's used by the various Guzzi models. It stated the 15M was used on the V11 until 2002. 2002 on, the 15RC was used. My scoot was built in 2004. So I'm-a gonna try to pick a bike from the dropdown that uses the 15RC. Perhaps that is what the issue is. Wrong ecu.

  13. Finally got around to trying to get into the ecu with guzzidiag to see if the neutral/light throttle backfiring around 3k rpm was due to the c/o setting as suggested. Being a great, big, computer troglodyte, I had to have my little sister help me so I wouldn't get lost. 1st issue. The drop down for choosing the bike model doesn't show anything for a Coppa. (Of course) Seeing that all of the V11's except 2 use the 15M ecu I assumed (dangerous) that this is installed on my bike. Got to where you are asked to turn the ignition on and it wouldn't recognize the ignition being on. Tried several times to no avail . Might anyone have an idea as to this problem ? When I first got this machine I installed a PClll along with new, go faster bits and pieces. And then had it set up on a dyno. Out of curiosity, could the problem with the popping be due to an issue in the PClll set up and not in the direction I am heading? FYI , The problem did not exist when it went into hibernation last fall. It seemed to crop up after this spring's tune up which has been performed several times now trying to stop the pop.

  15. Well, (wasn't that quick) went to the Lonelec site again and WAS able to find the single cable. YAY ! Not sure as to why I could only find the cable set (2) before. No one should hear from me now until I probably get confused with the guzzidiag. Thanks to all again.
  16. Well, OBD2cables.com was kind enough to respond within a day. They are a no-go. "Due to Chinese tariffs they are winding down their cable business and no longer make custom cables, and do not have the cable in stock." Still wondering if anyone has a designation of the style of 3 prong plug that connects to the tps. I still haven't returned the incorrect one and am not above preforming a little cable surgery. This IS turning out to be a little more difficult than anticipated.

  19. Sorry, l didn't thank 80CX100. Thank you also sir. In reference to the tps I was able to get a smoother number transition after another go. To get it to move through the thousandths and hundredths of a volt slowly takes an extremely light hand. Especially for a heavy handed fellow like me who never learned how to twist a throttle slowly. With my new touch I may now be qualified for brain surgery. I am considering the tps as okay.

  21. I've been trying to find a 3 pin to obd2 cable everywhere. The one I purchased for Fiat which I thought would work has an incorrect 3 pin plug on it. Larger, and with "ridged guides" inside than the one on the bike which has no ridges. Every one that I look at seems to look like the one I purchased with the larger plug. I'm at a loss without a name for my style plug although no one seems to list what style plug is on the cable they're selling anyway. Anyone know where I might find this cable? My bike is popping/mildly backfiring under neutral/very slight deceleration throttle. Been through tune up 3 times, sprayed intake and smoke checked exhaust for leaks twice. Read CO setting may cause this so I'm trying to get into ecu. Still not sure of throttle position sensor. In tune up post by docc it mentions "smooth" transition of the readings. Still not sure of exactly what smooth translates to. I'll look for more info on that $350 part diagnosis. Thanks
  22. Hello jami, When I purchased the Coppa yesterday in 2005 I remember looking at an aftermarket set of pegs that would moved your feet forward for taller riders. I've no idea if other mods were needed for brake and shifter. MY geriatric mind can't recall who or where unfortunately. But they did exist. Also, the Coppa came through with not quite upright bars, higher than clip ons , but not quite tall enough to sit upright unless your holding on with one hand. With two hands you have to lean a little. IN GOLD . Not sure if other models used similar bars in an easier color. They are also longer than clip ons but still narrower than standard bars. Hope this helps.

  24. I've been trying to research what Odyssey battery will fit. Of course no one shows that a Coppa exists in any of their fitment guides. I will usually go with a late model Sport in situations such as this. The Odyssey website showed a PC925L as a fit for a 2001 Sport. 6.65 x 7.05 x 5.04 dimensions. Any idea if this is correct information and the correct size for a fit? Seems large by my measurements.
  25. Well, Mr gstallons was kind enough to contact me and suggested I also check the battery under load. (Genius ! Yes I said it. And I'm embarrassed for not thinking to check it.) Having 12.69 v at rest I ASSUMED the battery was okay. It turns out it was registering 5 to 7 v with the ignition on. Lesson 1 here; never ASSUME. Cover all the bases. Lesson 2; There's a great group of helpful people here in the V11 world. Thank you all. Lesson 3; gstallons is just plain, old, smarter than me. Damn him ! Hats of to you gstallons, and thank you again !
