Ignore it, He's just jealous. His Italian V twin has a Japanese engine and is turned the wrong way around He probably was looking for genuine tips on how to wheelie. and paused the video to put his gear on only to restart it to find wasn't applicable to his machine type. He can be a bit of a wag himself - so I've no worries that he won't take offence at my previous paragraph. It did seem a bit out of character Humour doesn't always cross borders or oceans. and every one appreciates something different. Or his reply was meant to be humorous and didn't quite come off that way. or He might have taken that tone as no one else had replied and a negative sounding post would bring out replies from people who had liked it. There's nothing like starting a thread and getting no replies - is there Jim - I must go and watch that Spanish road racing clip you put up. The ribbing on here does seem to be in good humour and normally only with the people you know can take it

What time is it?
Martin Barrett replied to belfastguzzi's topic in Special place for banter and conversation
It's a busy time of year for him, if you really need to get hold of him he can be found under taking his civic duties. This will keep him busy untill the 7th of January. Yes he will be on top of the tree. You can expect to see an add in the wanted section for an Airhawk seat cushion then -
I enjoyed the video a nice little hook to it. You could even say cutting edge

The spamers who place links in the classified selection have to fill in the mandatory field "location" and their auto complete software imputs google as their location. So anything that comes from google is likly to be spam and or crap

Whilst looking for the picture with the girl hanging backwards over the front of the stoppie Honda I found this picture on the same site. I'd not seen it before. It's obviously quite dated Sport and "Hondastyle" leathers. Do you know where it comes from? some sort of advertising campaign? I posted it here rather than silly banter as at least it's got a Guzzi in it. Perhaps caption competition time again?

I'm sure one of our new members from the land of Google will be along to offer videos of her. But in the mean time here is a Red Molly & Pierre Have you read Douglas Adams' "Dirk Gently Holistic Detective Agency" he suffers a similar fate with a sofa on his stairs

Welcome She looks stock from here - what mods have been done? There are some who'd say quite fitting a Tenni in the Junkyard

Keeping to the nit picking that we've degenerated to Kaiser blade doesn't seem to be the same as a Scythe I hadn't noticed the significance of the original reference or to what it referred to. Following your post I at least had a idea and a quick Google did the rest. The way you described reminded me of the critically aclaimed Catcher in the Ryewhich we had to read at school. I hated it and didn't get it at all. I've recently decided to re read it and see if I get it second time around - I've yet to do this. It was interesting to see the film Sling Blade was inspired by a short fim Some Folks Call it a Sling Blade staring Molly Ringwald. I always used to have a bit of a soft spot (misnomer) for her As a spotty oik I used to watch the late night French films staring Catherine Deneuve in the hope that she'd get her kit off. Gerald Depardieu in Cyrano de Bergerac - One of my all time top ten films - story line premise used for Roxanne and Truth about Cats and Dogs which were reasonable in their own right. I'm not sure about the Somersby version of Le Retour de Martin Guerre. I think it's always worth seeing these foreign language films ( they have to have subtitles for me) as sometimes they are better than the English language remakes. They wouldn't remake them unless they were a good story. Moving back on to topic I'm looking at a move out of the control room on to Traffic. To this effect I spent 3 days last week on the motorways, unfortunately I only spent one day with someone who was weighbridge qualified and there was no opportunity to put this to use, though did some interesting process concerning operators licences revolving around the usage of a recovery truck

I'm looking for the right words here, but I'm getting a jumble of thoughts. With the exception of the 3 year old, they were all big enough to make their own choices in respect to getting in that car with that driver. The 3 year old survived and so does it seem her mother, obviously we don't know the relationship to the driver. So there are no totally innocent victims here - other than your neighbours whose property been damage in the accident. (not drawing comparison between life & property) They are not you or yours, they are nothing to you. Have empathy and sympathy for them by all means, discuss it once with your wife and family and your concerns should they end up in a similar situation. But don't dwell on it more than that. ( we do critical incident debriefs) I've tried to resuscitate an assault victim. I don't know for sure if I killed him or not with my attempts to save him. By the time I got to him he was unconscious, not breathing and I couldn't find a pulse. I still have doubts nearly 10 years on, it's only natural. But I don't dwell on it. Last year one of my colleagues was killed on duty on his motorcycle when a car pulled out in front of him. I can only dream of reaching his standard of proficiency in riding. The following day I was out on trip and found myself think of it. I had to drive it from my mind otherwise the distraction increased the likely hood of the same happening to me. I obviously can expect to have to deal with things like this, it's my job. I have to be emotionally detached or it will burn me up. The counterpoint is that I blub like a girl at films etc, because you develop an emotional attachment to the characters and also its a safe release. I also avoid gore/medical films/tv etc. You did what was necessary at the time, you got involved you went to the scene to help. You took measured and calculated steps. Only when there were others , who hadn't witnessed it first hand, there did you stand down and move away. You would have been in shock and also were victim of this accident. You did good

You were running open bell mouths and it just flopped in? in the manner of the person at A&E who was vacuum cleaning or accidentally sat on the coke bottle

Good bye licence and possibly hello a brief spell in prison? In UK people have gone to prisonfor purely excess speed (over 150mph) dangerous driving is this the same elsewhere. I know in Japan a ferrai driver was succesfully prosecuted following posting a high speed run on the internet. Here I think it's only been from video taken off the camera following a crash with the camera still at scene

Yeah, the 5th bike he went past at about 11:06 could well have been. Picture a bit blurry though so can't tell. His CBR1000RR? didn't want to go back into gear at the toll booth though Taking a few chances there, though not as bad as Ghostrider. I hope his wife doesn't see that. I wonder if she will go for flowers or donations to charity

I'm really sorry to hear this. I hope you mend well and fast though from what you say it's not going to be as simple as that.
