  1. This picture is from Guy's European tour this summer taking in the Erin and moving on to the Boxmeer. I recon that they've been on the road for about a week at this point Have they just arrived in Holland and making the most of the more liberal attitudes there? or has Guy just lost a wager to Magnus? or just being comradely as they've been on the road so long? Perhaps you'd have a better understanding
  2. I'm diagonal up one and to the centre and right from Ben But there were a couple of questions that I think were loaded. I think I'd need to work on my PMDR (Personal Monitoring Development Review) to make me more Authoritarian
  3. I was very tempted but in the end went for this under £15GBP. It tells the time and that's it, in 20 years time it will be worth nothing, infact it's not worth much more now. I could ask how a watch could possibly be worth a year of my (work) time, but I know what some will say about my net contribution to the economy. I know about market forces and people getting their "worth" but sometime it seems obscene. I know they have to by things like this so it cascades back down etc I'm not bitter, if I wanted to make money I wouldn't have gone into a "public service" profession. That's my but you can only see it, I can't afford to part with it
  4. I thought you were alluding to this. I couldn't remember the bike but could the hair, which is more than I can say for mine
  5. Didn't you mean - You should come out more often...

  7. This is standard ordinary person jury service. When I last was previously selected (lucky dip off the electoral roll) I was exempt/disqualified as a Police Officer. The rules have changed and that exemption no longer qualifies. I was initially warned for a fortnight in August this year, given a months notice. It was when I'd booked time off work as school holiday and was no chance of rearranging our holiday. So I went for the deferral of service option, expecting to be called back in September. But no the fortnight commencing 14 May. There is no second deferral of service. I can't see being discharged from service in the first week unless too many people have been called and they all turn up. There is no selection of jurors as in America. When they do the listings of the trials they have a rough idea how long they each will last so try and keep the Crown Courts fully booked. Witnesses get told their case is in fortnight commencing and often only get told the night before that it's being heard the next day. The danger is that get put on a long winded trial that lasts months Civic duty - could be worse "The Draft"
  8. I liked the Noggers river analogy. Unfortunately I'm adrift on my lashed together raft made of oil drums and pallets The posts have got too verbose and confusing for me. I need more pictures and graphs. I think it's all down to the spin that is put on the data.
  9. Great clip Antonio. Reminds me of the best tackle of the day made at a Watford v Arsenal footy match several years ago. At another I was walking through one of the shops to deal with a problem and my shoulder had a couple of tugs down wards. The dog handler had followed me in and his dog was having a gentle chew on my cuff Very carefully took my arm away and followed the handler from that point. It's not surprising they're known as "land sharks" Here's one for Pete, perhaps he can find redemption in this dog's chuff Image not for Christians who are likely to take offence in the manner of the Islamic cartoons
  10. I went to work today and the first thing I did was pull up the duty list for next year so I could book leave for this. I knew my pattern would put me weekend off after nights so would need to book the Wednesday and Thursday night and Monday late shift off. So just check to make sure not too many people allready booked it off. Horror this is the weekend in the middle of two weeks Jury service I've got to do, so theres no chance of making it unless I get slung out. Perhaps if I make representations on day one that I don't need to hear the evidence that they must all be guilty. I hope we don't get a trial thats going to run beyond the fortnight as that could effect the Irish and German trips. So have a good time and take loads of photos Sorry Chris I think it will be just too far to do in a standard weekend
  11. I put a rolled pair of socks in my Speedos*. I know it's getting cold but I didn't know the snow had actually arrived I'm with in 200miles of 30K. Mine has never been lubed since it left the factory and you all know how mine is used. Will it be able to cope with the strain of turning over nine tumblers at once when it hits 30K (6 on odometer and 3 on trip) or should I zero the trip to make sure it's only got to turn the 1/10ths at the same time. and would I be better of passing this milestone flat out at 120 or a more sedate pace 85-95 Inquiring mind have got to kno ... never mind Looking forward to the depths of winter NB this is a humorous post and is not meant to be taken seriously at all
  12. Looked good ,( though my screen wasn't wide enough. )
  13. TLM (site sponsor) have agents in USA - Moto International ( Greg's place of employment) and in AUS - A1 - obviously I've never used either but options to consider - links on the TLM page accessed from the site sponsors bar (show/hide sponsors button) near the top of the page So worth checking out even if just for quotes
  14. I like the new classic sport. I think I'm be too tall and too fat. I know I'm too poor. Sticking with the Lemans fits like a glove (now that I'm broken in to it)
  15. Last night first Monday of the month so was local Guzzi owners club meeting I think at least 5 turned up on bikes eventualy, but when I got there only Reg's Sporti was there so a quick snap before heading into the pub.
  16. Heres the link to the cave story I couldn't find it yesterday. Plenty of room there to hide the Dutch mountains
  17. Loads more photos here including at least 5 Guzzi.
  18. [monty python]Don't forget the single plate clutch and the coated forks apart from that what else has Omboto Tenni done for us?[/monty python]
  19. a bit dark but with flash whited out the non rusty parts Picture is looking down from the left of bike. You can see the screwdriver access hole. You can't see the far end of the adjuster (9) hidden behind the subframe. Can see the spring (10) but not the washer (22) hiden behind the adjuster arm (24) and to finish it off the nut (30) In the past I've adjusted mine by pushing on the top of the headlight to remove the tension on the spring and reaching in the way the photo was taken and spining the end of the adjuster between my fingers. It's probably too coroded to do it that way now and might have to use a screwdriver through the hole. If you've got the parts fitted it should be obvious.
  20. Which just crys out for this even though it's not my sentiment at all it would be good to see them
  21. Whilst at the German v11sport.de treffen this year saw this It appears to be a short frame early V11 Sport with a Lemans fairing grafted on. Some here have taken their fairings off - Jaap and Guy spring to mind Greg has pulled the fairing back on his Ballabio/Coppa Jason has got a BMW R100S type on his Nige has mounted a 3 pice old Spada type There is the Coppa Lemans - Italian chap did it - there are pictures and he even popped over and posted some links I believe that the Ballabio bars will foul the Lemans fairing Motomecca (uk) used to sell the belly pan/chin fairing but I couldn't find it on their site last time I looked The V11 is no longer a current model so when looking for replacement parts it might be a matter of old stock or try the site sponsors to see what they carry There are lots of threads on the differences/merits of different crossovers and cans and foot peg conversions You'll need to get busy with the search button - esp try and find the bits on the coppa lemans, there's lots on here just wade through Having typed all that out I remembered Soren has do it to his Scura http://www.v11lemans.com/gallery/details.php?image_id=404 winters arrived so he may well be hibernating Good luck
  22. Yes But - the beauty of the Breva is that when the bags are off there's next to no frame left. Just attatchment lugs on the bits of frame that are allready there (peg hangers, seat rails etc) very unobtrusive. You'd have to make up bracket supports and mount them to suit. Could look a bit So unless you've got Breva bags that you want to transfer from bike to bike. I suspect you'd do better adapting a frame for Givi/Heppo Baker etc The Ventura tail pack system can be quite unobtrusive when off the bike and is always worth considering unless you must have hard (side) bags
  23. Well it's November and I've posted links to my photographs of each landmark at the end of each trip report. There are also a few videos (photo story) made up of various pictures and route maps. If you just want to see the photographs out of context they're here as a slide show
