  1. That is lovely. But what is the red "cable/pipe/tube" It appears to go into the bottom of the sump. is it an oil line. I thought it might have been a fire control device
  2. Isn't the 850 a sleaved down 1100 as opposed to a bored/stroked 750. Therefore has the size/weight penalty for a person of smaller inside leg ie Jane. Chris has previously dismissed my suggestion of riding ahead with a mounting block/step ladder
  3. Alex when you said in the soviet racer thread that you didn't work with web pages I was looking forward to one of your paintings being the medium of the quiz subject
  4. My pedal spindle seized up slowly. I initialy thought it was a usual build up of dust etc around the pistons and pins the pads slide on, and despite cleaning those no significant improvement, and poor return of the pedal. My sidestand pivot was also dry as well. two more places to grease.
  5. Stud extractors (eazee out) tools of the devil - good luck
  6. I think Jaaps Leader is at the (clicky picture link) Oh look Heskeths on the front page, just for BFG Well worth a visit if not been. I know many of you have
  7. Ben, your bait's a bit stinky perhaps you'd like to borrow this smilie as well But seriously can I recommend (clicky picture link if I've done it right) Comedy is such a personal thing again one mans meat anothers poison. Another one I caught on tv last week was I'm not sure if you can get this one your side of the pond. Also available as a book and may still be doing the live shows.
  8. I'd imagine radial, I'd bet a rotary would be awsome, certainly favour left handers saw this piccy the other day
  9. sorry the devils finding time for idle hands - perhaps I should go for a ride EDIT:- At this time Guy's Avtar was this chimp
  10. Nice to hear that you had a good evening. I'm working, directing my collegues, using municipal cctv. Calls from drunken persons. So far a couple of fights. All my cars have ended up arresting people. The cells across the county are approaching full. A few fights and domestics, just about keeping a lid on it - that was the kiss of death - now spiraling out of control
  11. Can't you move to where the time zone fits your current sleep pattern?
  12. Lifted from some where else http://www.adriatica-grifo.it/Sax/norge.mov (6.2mb mov )
  13. Sorry shouldn't that be a "monkey" carrier just keeping the theme from my earlier reply
  14. Ape hangers must be from Hartlepool
  15. That Galloping goose would make a nice avtar
  16. Not wishing to appear nit picking but I think it's the 1100 in the video as it has the oil cooler where the 850 doesn't. But thank you for the links. I don't know what he was trying to demonstrate, but did notice his feet went down very early.
  17. It's not quite the same as live, and I thought I'd catch one of the re runs, but the tennis or what ever it was over run and by the time I flicked back it was back to the finish. Life is a learning experiance and I know know what to do for next time.
  18. You've got a female flasher unit. It takes time to warm up.

    It's WET

From the right angle with the shadows etc she still looks gorgeous. A bit tatty around the edges, but "every old sock needs an old shoe" We've had some grand times and there's also been times when it's not been plain sailing. The only times I won't ride her this winter is when theres snow or a hard frost on the ground or it's my lift sharing shift. I'd take her over the car even when raining and I know the water will get in. Yours if a different dilema. I don't have a choice of motorcycles. If you moth balled the Buell for the six months over winter You won't save a great deal on the insurance. The road tax isn't a great deal on a motorcycle anyway. There will be nice days when you'd want to ride it. Keep it ready to ride and if it gets wet thats okay, but try not to put it away wet and dirty*. Use the Guzzi daily they like frequent use and that will help keep the water out, and you've got the Buell should she want a day off. *There do as I say not as I do.
  20. Yes, but Forest had posted, the qualifying positions, prior to the race. Nakano going for broke lost it all, but good effort trying. A very tense/exciting climax for the season. I got up at 5am watched the start 1/3 of the race live and rushed (my Sgt didn't complain but did pass comment having been passed) to work. Out of my gear and in to the rest area just able to catch the last 1/2 lap before I had to actually go to work. Perhaps I should have gone straight to work earlier and watched it all there.
  21. I found I got very good mileage on a long haul across Germany on the Autobahns. Despite 85mph I think it's the lack of changes in throttle position. I did 154miles and the light hadn't come on where normally I'd only get 115-125 normal usage. I find slab work much more uncomfortable, due to the lack of body position change than when on minor roads, complete with photo stops. Is that an Air Hawk pad? 725miles putting that into perspective Lands End to John O'Groats which is the furthest two points apart mainland UK is 874miles. Just reminds me how big the US is. I normaly go in circles. Good luck with the weather
  22. I think the whole ethos of gloves has changed from over to under the cuff The length of the gloves cuff seems to be shorter these days. I must admit I'm an over the cuff man. I think some might run down the sleave inside the glove. But I say go faster and the wind will push it up and away. Conversley if worn cuff over, doesn't the rain get pushed up the inside of the sleave? I will have oportunity to try this out this afternoon on the way to work. I know I will get a wet mid section I will be looking at new gear at the bike show in October.
