  1. No Yes Right I could get in some serious sh1t. Last week I controlled an RTC in which 3 persons died driver , passenger and baby also a passenger in vehicle 1. lost control within the speed limit on a bend, ran wide into a much more substansial vehicle. In this weeks local theres an article which details a petion thats been signed by 1500 persons asking for for intervention ie speed limits and other road calming steps. As it stands is a national speed limit (60mph) single carriageway - one lane each directioon road and has been a number of accidents on this bend in last few years. The local authority have stated no remdial action at this time. http://herts-essex-news.co.uk/news/mercury...afer%20road.lpf FFS if its wet slow down, read the road assess the bend. Or are these 1500 going to drive past a school at kicking out time at 30mph on at cold wet dark Decenber afternoon because it's the speed limit! Take some responsiblity for your actions. I've added a post to their forum deriding their petition. Is the common person realy that much of a sheep
  2. I saw a set of staintunes at the 2004 V11 meeting at Dodford and was very impressed and if I was to change my cans they would be up the top of my replacement list.
  3. Sorry Martin had too many G&t's to find my V11.de log in and the other links not working, then your photobucket bandwidth seems to have been exceeded but i'll try again later. Are you anything to do with Malcolm Glaeser, any chance of swinging vists for my Man U crazy teenage son Why can't he be satisfied with Stevenage Borough? he could go to every home game! Welcome anyway.
  4. Do you actualy require the owner to submit pictures etc? Can't you actualy just raid posts/web sites? If thats it you're going to get bombarded with pictures of the ratty bike
  5. Mine seemed to be the regulator, Felix's altenator seems to have taken down down his regulator. Not much help I know but my regulator seemed to have suffered some sort of intermitant failure and allowed a surpless of charge. I wish things either work or fail comletely they'd be so much easier to trouble shoot. Sorry for the incoherantness - played tennis after work (made up numbers on an existing four) - first time in the last quarter of a centry ( I even won one of my service games and went to duece on a couple of others) and treating the aching musles with libral aplication of G&T.

  10. Tis a Norse dragon or serpent a devourer of corpses. whilst on about Norse and things that aren't fairies, my daughter Freya ( born on a friday ) couldn't be described as fairy like even when dressed up Okay this isn't her but her brother in her fairy dress
  11. Looking forward to a full trip report with pictures when you get back
  12. The Fairy Islands suffered a narrow defeat buy the Scots where as the English produced a crushing victory and the the two Irish teams showed solidarity along with the Welsh, in this weekends round of European Cup (2008) (football) qualifiers
  13. Nope it's still there in the Motha of all Forums section. It's just a bit of harmless pun based fun. based on expresions used by our favorite disposed dictator. I'm now off to the fairy thread.

  19. David Irving was a credited historian, but obviously went off the rails, he wrote books does that mean that the Holocaust didn't happen? Will the inside of an Austrian gaol change his mind? I don't think you will change anybody's mind. We're all big boys and the occasional girl, our views will be based on our experiances, circumstances and understandings which will differ greatly. The only thing we have in common is a basicly simular language though nuiances and tha occasional word will differ. The Nog has produced a valid viewpoint and a perception based on an unregulated culture, my last piece of "research" would have been "Black Hawk Down". If you target is disarmed it is easier to coerce and destroy if that is your aim. But it takes a mind set as well. Gandi effectively threw the British out of India through passive resistance. In our "civalised world" the days of the Peterloo massacre are over. We've had bloody Sunday since and you've had campus riots. But they're not put down so heavy handedly now days. You should bear heed to the lessons of extremisium from 30's Germany and not elect an extreme goverment. Appathy(amongst other things) at the polls will get you one. At least you have Supreme courts and legal process to suport your constutuitional rights. At what point would you suggest armed resistance to your elected goverment? My understanding is that Switzerland and Israel operate similar policies in compolsory armed service and than you've an armed citizen base to call upon later-I could be totaly wrong but I've never planned to invade either so not bothered to check. Switzerland not likely to be be invaded currently, Israel need I say more, but a host of people that would gladly wipe it from the face of the world given the chance. If states get ingauged in arms races we have seen WWI and the collapse of the Soviet Union, both have the arms race of the day as a significant factor. Good or a bad thing? You'll never eliminate guns from the criminal fraternity, just the same you'll never get rid of nuclear weapons. If you have one at home for point defence all well and good, just remembered that South African rugby player who shot dead his daughter thinking she was an intruder perhaps not so good after all. If I come knocking early one morning I bear that in mind, I hope we get you "contained" before you reach for your gun ( I know that as a Guzzi Road Geezer I won't need to be putting your door in and dragging you from your bed) Do you wake coherantly and instantly? I hate accidents. I've allready expressed my concerns where Joe Average has one in the public domain and just makes a couple of bad choices. I think you're playing on a different playing field and with a slightly different set of rules than a lot of us(Brits esp), and provided that everyone involved knows the rules all is well and good. We've seen several people shot by police with imitation guns or items that have been mistaken for guns. Perhaps they didn't fully understand the rules of the game have moved on. My big question remains at what point do you(not just Ratchet) take up armed resistance to your elected goverments? Sory about the spelling and grammar - 2pts of G&T
  20. My preference, though a bit too high for this context
  21. Comparing it to my ongoing exhaust hangers. 3rd failure (first time on the left) used duct tape to complete my journey some 200 miles not a bodge a get you home (200miles) fix, Once home can't get it welded due to being aluminum, so repair effected by bolting two washers either side of it, and packing out with other washers to allow for the little bolt heads. This is a bit bodgey and becomes more so the longer it's left on (only three weeks currently) The epoxy gluing above is a valid repair in my opion.
  22. No Prince Ranier and Princess Grace had Ferraris as did Lord Brocket
  23. As far as the plug goes if it's centre of the tyre and a proper proffesional plug should last the life of the tyre. I fitted a do it your self plug (rema) and it was supposed to be good for a couple of hundred miles and lowish speeds. I did a best part of a thousand miles on it (to get home tyre was shot then anyway) and allowed the speed to creep up straight away once I'd got it up to preasure. But had full guzzi paranoia on alert covering my rear though didn't notice the rear bearing go untill the noise . I did notice that the protusion of the cut off did seem to be longer when I'd got home. I'd suspect that your plug is a harder comound than the tyre so may not have worn down as much as the tyre. I'd supect if it got too long it could try and rip the plug out as opposed to just pulling it snug as it wouldn't be a radial pull but tangentaly. So I'd be tempted to trim it back, normally just proud. Just check it regularly. I had ultra seal inside mine as well but the hole was too big so had to plug as well. you may wish to consider a similar treatment. But whilst tyres are expensive they are cheaper than dropping you bike at anything other than a standstill whilst sitting on it ablbe to cussion the landing with your body and then you may not be lucky with fairings or injury. I put the ultra seal in after a puncture within 500miles of fitting a new tyre. Pay your money make your choice - but confidence comes into a big part with tyres depending on your riding style and location. Electrics - you seem to be on the right track.
  24. There seems to be a slight downwards arc of the cable before it goes to a higher plug so having a "drip loop" would seem to be relativly safe. If it a 4 gang extension wedged behind the cold and hot "taps" that would truely be a bodge
  25. I do try I have very little won't power, perhaps it's a good thing I can't have a gun. It's one of the reasons I went for the V11 instead of a Blackbird
