Guilty, I'm just too lazy and I should/do know better. Probably because I ride nearly every day I forget when I last did it. I even keep a tyre pressure gauge in my jacket pocket. Though the rear hadn't lost any pressure since they were last checked, perhaps the Ultra seal prevents osmosis? (though isn't osmosis more to do with molecule transfer due things like difference in salinity, and it's not Brownian motion either, that just when you find you have 15 psi mid corner ) I will do better.

It was a nice morning today, For the trip to work. Flat out the whole way down the nine miles of motorway bar the couple of times there was a car in the lane in front. From the heat creaking and pinging noises when I parked her up it should have heated her up enough, despite the shortness of journey, to burn off the water and help de emulsify the oil. (not sure if that's a valid exemption in law) For the trip back heavy rain, got soaked. Bound to have rehydrated the oil Lift sharing the rest of the week in the car My bit for GW. But I'm night shift over next weekend so perhaps can dry the oil out on the way back Saturday or Sunday morning. Oh and good luck for Paul

Buy a cheep tent out of wallyworld. It's what I use on the bike. That way you can pitch your tent, but sleep in the van if you wish. Obviously I don't know what they'd charge you for the pitch

I'll do that when back from the Highland Fling The pan wire mesh filter was clear. I did give the pan a wipe out as well. I was thinking that the shorter journeys only during the winter was probably the cause.

Thanks for your comments. I don't recollect there being any when I did it at 15k last September. It had been run on Mobil 1 and obviously the ambient temperatures where warmer and I'd done lots of long days during the summer. Since then it's mostly been commuting over the winter apart form the Welsh Waltz 2 and a 100mile trip to Birmingham for the RBR presentation dinner

Sorry Ferg can't help you with the specifics you've asked for. Have a good time and post up some pictures, even if they've got that American iron horse in them. Will you/both be at the Erin this year?

I did a service on my V11Lemans today. I found some emulsification in the oil when draining it out and dropping the pan. And Horrors of horrors a coating of the rocker boxes when doing the tappets, I use 15w50 Fuchs Silkolene Comp a synthetic and went 5,000 miles since the last change and tappet adjust. Is this emulsification because; 1- It doesn't get hot enough on my 13 mile commute to work during the winter despite 85mph plus speeds 0n the 7 miles of motorway. 2- I've over stretched the length of the oil change period 3- Wrong grade of oil 4-should have used dino oil I've replaced like with like and obviously will report a difference at the next time I pull the rocker box off. I might do it just after been to Scotland will do 2.5 k over 5 days and have got 3k under the wheels by then would separate points 1 and 2 from 3 and 4

I have the Azaros fitted I started to notice at the beginning of the week on a couple of my commutes to work as I was pushing it a bit harder, better weather, around the roundabouts it was starting to push out as Antonio describes and have what perhaps could be described as a weave whilst cranked over. On Wednesday I'd blasted down the motorway and was sat at the lights at the top of the exit slip waiting for them to change when I went to move the bars. The stiction* was incredible. I know it's "sure grip" on the tarmac but this was unbelievable. It didn't feel too sure footed around the next two bends. I checked the tyre pressure - 15lbs It seems to be holding it's pressure now. But I'm a bit nervy. I can find any obvious puncture. I might ultra seal it to make it last the Highland fling and possibly the Erin. Up until now I haven't any complaints about the tyre, been using since December. The rear did pick up a puncture also. They coped okay around Wales. But as you can tell I'm not "Mr feedback" I just ride it. * Stiction - Sticking through friction. The reluctance to start to move, normally used in reference to fork sealsand sliders.

I think the failures have all been Scura not the RM or Tenni,. I don't know if they're the same part number or not, but it would appear to be a bad batch used on (some of) the Scura. I could be wrong of course. But the way Jim wheelies his RM, I would have thought, if it was inherently week it would have failed.

Yeah I know, trying to put too much in to the weekend. I managed it last year. Can't over do the social aspect. I need to hit the RBR points because of my compulsive obsessional disorder. But I will be more chilled in Ireland provided I hit the points in Wales on the way over

Any suggestions ? For my route , not which band of nomadic people that's accompanying Guy.

Yes, sorry I was totally fubar'd off my night shift I forgot to check on getting home. but don't forget the 0.002 for the moly. obviously don't need to add it if using the red line. so makes 0.372 I'm sure it will make a difference

Fill it up untill comes out of the middle hole/drain plug. But apparently it will splash out when poured in as hits crown wheel/pinion. so might want to put bung in add a bit and then remove bung. I'll look up volumes when I get home if no ones chimes in, but you could measure what comes out and then work from there.

The original V11 has clip ons and I think they're mounted below the triple clamp The subsequent naked I'm not sure but I think they went above The Lemans (all types) and Scura are clip ons mounted above the triple clamp The Cafe Sport, Bilabio, Copa Italia have the flat bars mounted on stems on the triple clamp. I don't know about the Rosso Mandello, I think clip ons below triple. That covers all options, there are a whole host of different after market riser kits, and also foot peg conversions. errors and omisions excepted

Direct lift off his http://www.pashnit.com/bikes/V11-Lemans.htm site At least he's only selling a manual, not trying to pass the bike off as his. Though a picture of the manual would have been more appropriate. Even if only a screen print of the opening page.

Indicates running too lean, burning too hot. Could lead to trouble. I'm sure some one more knowledgeable will advise shortly.

There's no camping on site. There are a couple of sites shown on the map about a mile away. The hotel has a range of rooms and even a bunk house option. I don't know how fully booked they are. It's not in to high season so I'd imagine there should be space. I haven't recieved written confirmation to my booking this year. I did get it confirmed on the phone back in November though. I trust you've booked the time for the Erin?
