The entry list is available on line. 6 Guzzis out of 435 entrys. I'm no 182. I couldn't see YOUR name on it.

Nice little Video for those who like to play in the mud with their 4X4s. I wonder how much effort it took to get it started after the aborted river crossing. Can you get a one way valve/flap for your snorkel? Switch to battery power Top Gear once did silly things with a Toyota pick up, washed out to sea, threw it off a cliff and it it kept running.

Nice little trip report. I know how you felt, when you just have to go. You can only take so much of an imposed artifically low limit. Unfortuneatly I normally have to let rip at some point. Even if it only is hitting the gap and exit ramp of the motorway and then going round the outside of the curve on the exit of the traffic light controlled roundabout and blast down the small stretch of dual carriageway less than 1/2 mile, before braking down hard for roundabout and start of a 40 limit and 1/4 mile of observance before turning into work. By the way "who has the Guzzi" I've got one not too dissimilar. They're great aren't they

On one hand I think it would be a nice gesture. He certainly had done more to his Guzzi than most: X-Gen cans high level rear pipes Stucchi x-over K&N pods (no airbox - now I can actually adjust my rear suspension !!) PC III usb RT billet levers and master cyclinders Rizoma billet reservoirs Billet footbrake lever Gorgeous irridescent green paint job (under 5 layers of dark laquer) techno footpegs front & rear sawn-off rear mud guard Bodged mini-cam + digi-recorder wiring into the loom Those high level exhaust I think are unique on this forum. On the other hand there may be friends or family who may blame his motorcyle or his love of motorcycling, but there again they might again take some comfort that it was doing something that he loved. Overall I'd second the recommendation.

I'm not sure if the link is still live but here's the original post Perhaps Jason can comment as the original source and leading art expert.

My throttle started to stick. When rolled off it wouldn't fully return. I took the twist grip apart and lubed it and the cable with WD40. In the motorway service station No further problems. I know now that WD40 will dry out and go sticky. When I next service it I'm going to redo it with a light oil.

No idea to the question posed. But if it doesn't have to be Hard look at the Ventura Bike Pack A bit pricey, but seems good. A bit better than my tail pack bungeed to the rear seat, won't move and scuff the tail piece. The rails should fit with the Teknos in place. With the rails on there are several interchangeable quick release options - Grab rail, sports rack, full rack. With the big pack it can go on either way round to bring the weight forward if you've not got a pillion, and you can zip two together so ones forward of the frame loop and the other rear of it. Several members have them I'm sure they will sing their virtues. It's my most wanted accessory for my V11

But when we look at it with our rose coloured Guzzi spectacles the grass becomes green. Really needs someone with a better art metaphor glossary than me to do it justice. Getting in to this art thing perhaps its time to have another look at the jello earthquake city Arty photograph expressing the reality of Moto Guzzi ownership or just a nice piccy take your pick.

Keith has a rather tastefully colour matched old oil bottle as a catch tank. perhaps he can fill the exact details. I've blown the picture up a bit to get some detail -
I didn't know Christian. I had seen his pictures on the Gallery and his posts when he joined us in March. With his very distinctive, and I think unique on this forum, exhaust. He seemed to have a sense of humour and would have made a good contributor to this forum. It is always a loss when someone loses their life. It is of little consolation that it was doing something that he loved. My condolences to his friends and family, and thank you John for letting us know.

I'm sure you could find a "readers wife" photo from some where and pass that off as your own, I don't think anyone has met or you've posted your good lady. It's just at what standard you pitch Otherwise to prevent such shenanigans would have to prove provenance. IE be sat back wards on your V11 so that the number plate could be seen. Otherwise you'd try and say that one on the green V11 was yours.

In the UK the flash of the head light is legally a visual warning of your presence the equivalent of a beep on the horn. But in common usage it means Here I am, I've seen you, pull out/join the traffic flow/cross the traffic which is in fact the opposite of its sanctioned use. Emergency service vehicle use headlight modulators in addition to blue lights. I don't think they're actually illegal under the 1981 road vehicle lighting regulations I'll have to check next week whilst on nights. I saw one on a Jota many years ago and saw it coming from a fair way off and thought wow ( It was a very long time ago) I'm not sure now that the general advantage makes up for the one chance that it'll be misinterpreted because that will be very painful indeed. One of my big bugbears is the inconsiderate/anti social use of lights. This comes from years of peering through foggy/misted up/scratched visors. Leaving rear fogs on or just using main beam instead of dip headlights. There are a lot of bikes that do this to aid visibility. I'm sure there are those who are less mellow than me who because of this would still do the lane change where if the light was dipped would still have seen you and perhaps might have let them through. If I was working I'd give them a pull (fogs left on/main beams), on its self I wouldn't ticket but it would mean anything else is a second offence and you're then on thin ice. I hate rear fog lights there just no need unless you're the last vehicle in very slow or stationary traffic in very dense fog

When Baldini and Orson swaped bikes on the Welsh Wife Swap he commented on how effective the Lemans screen was. Okay he had just got of his naked Tonti cafe racer and his Scura was at home awaiting new fork seals so its not quite a dirrect comparison. So you probably get a quite good hole punched by a flyscreen but a bigger one by a Lemans fairing. It just depends on what you want/can live with. I would be lothe to change to much on a greenie, I'd go with a fly screen, I've got used to 1/2 fairings FJ/Lemans but before never had problems before, but it's so long ago I can't remember. So it depends on how often they come up and the condition/price of the V11. remember there are no more there is a finite number now.

I went out that way last year didn't go over the pass to Applecross but skirted it, very nice roads even the main road from Spean Bridge towards Skye and off through Loch Carron to Torridon (where you'd turn off) on the smaller roads. I didn't take any other pictures too busy But I think I'm preaching to the converted. Come on you other swine these are pearls of roads.

My planned routes Feel free to join me if you want, but I think it will be along day, Last year on the Saturday I was out 0630-2030hrs and covered 630 miles. Did have an hour for lunch though. The Autoroute says 19 hours 13 minutes and 1100km for this years. There will be some lovely roads but I've got to hit the landmarks so I have to take some major roads as well and go to some of the bigger towns/cities

That's where I went wrong when my headers cracked. I relied on my multi franchise dealer(4 months) and I bet they didn't take the cylinders off to replace the headers From the ride out on Jaap's International V11 Meeting September 04 I only bought a T shirt then. I could do with another so must go back. I'm not sure they're on my direct route to the German bash FbF I know

Thanks Aaron, mine arrived today

I'm ticking along nicely just turned 20,000miles (32K km) yesterday (2 9/12ths years). Nothing untoward engine wise.

If I ever can get back into my leathers I must do a trackday. When my headers cracked the dealer welded them up due to the delay in waiting for the correct replacements. They were seamless. I don't know if welded from the inside or if external and ground. I could have been tempted to leave them like that but the replacements arrived the next week on warranty. So theres no real need to be off the road for long. I take it that you're fully recovered now and no problems arrising from a day on the bike? My wife uses putfile.com as a free host for movies. If you want to host the videos so we all can enjoy the sights of a V11 going up the inside in a safe controlled enviroment . Did he wave to the Kawasaki rider, or is it only me he does that to as he goes around the outside

April 22nd Return to Parkfield Lunch Meet
Martin Barrett replied to Mark in Hollister's topic in Meetings, Clubs & Events
Tim, I think you were a week early extra points for being keen though -
Glad to here that you got through it unscathed. Have noticed over here that there seems to have been more spring tornadoes reported this year
