  1. your 24 cylinder kh250 derived monstrosity is worthless unless you start a new thread - it's in the rules now
  2. Can't you mask it with tape for the test and then take it off for asthetic reasons. That's what I'll be doing this summer
  3. That aussie V8 thingy? Edit - the drysdale - no but similar headlights
  4. My quiz was a genuine quiz also , it was a picture of a moto guzzi that had been posted/linked to this site and the anwsers to the questions could have all been found through that picture. It was coincidental that Bfg happened to be the photogropher and reconised his work I want people to look att my pictures because they could be worth a quiz point one day.
  5. I went to Wales, met some internet chums and had a great time but did get a tad chilly on the way home
  6. It was frosty first thing this morning (0645) but by the time I'd got to Wales it was cold but sunny, and almost warm in the sun on the coast, but by the time I left it was dark and cold again , after being at home for 2 hours i've reached normal body temperatures. But I had a great time!!!!!
  7. Back to Keiths for a cup of tea. Before I go he has a look at my exhausts and shims out the can to crossover junctions. Nice and firm now hope that will cure my snapping brackets. Back home at 2205hrs a total of 517 miles of which the waltzing was the best part of 200
  8. becareful that you don’t slip when about to throw snowballs We seem to have been joined by “the Doctor”
  9. New route decided over some single track roads and around lake Vyrnwy
  10. The route doesn’t last contact with the second junction after lunch. But we do go past one of this years RBR landmarks on the freestyle route. Do a little run down the side of a lake. Keith just buggers off into the distance. The V11 spins up a bit quicker but he corners that much harder than I so string a few together and I lose contact. At least he didn’t come past me on the outside waving this time. Keith and Will have a little swap
  11. Re-decide the route, keep to it till the fuel stop Check route and decide that we’re going to the seaside for fish & chips and to stop for a photo on route.
  12. Woke well before the alarm clock this morning so up and left at 0545. The dawn had broken but the cars and my Guzzi had a layer of Ice on them. As a concession to the cold I decided to wear my one piece "Aqua Pack" water proofs over my normal Fabric Two piece, and instead of just a t shirt I added a rugby top. I had to stop for fuel after 50 miles and then I needed to stop at Telford after a further 80. I took this opertunity for a coffee and warm aswell as topping up the fuel. I had time in hand as only just turned 0800 so took a 20 minute break. Arrived at the Ponderosa at 0930, more warming Coffee required. A touch of snow still on the ground. Decided not to swap out the exhaust brackets as was only rubbing against the swing arm a little Will arrived first and then Keith. First things first breakfast. Then poor over the map deciding where to go. Decide on a route but claim “it doesn’t really matter” Well at the first junction the route goes out the window and we retrace part of the Welsh Waltz I, it was a good route. Stop for a photo opportunity with Snowdon in the background
  13. Okay 10am at the Ponderossa for (2nd) Breakfast. If you're skipping breakfast that'll give you another 1/2 hour. ride at 1030-1045 or when we all get there is it only us 3?
  14. at least you should have enough tread on that rear. How's the front? Will you be logging on before I leave ?
  15. The left hand switch gear is twisted around 180 ?
  16. There you go Miss October 05
  17. I'll bring my spare set. Do you want to meet at the Witchurch Midway truck stop, and then make to the Ponderosa together or risk cold hands?
  18. May 13/14 Weekend on Skye - Sligachan Hotel and campsite, camping £4/person/night (no booking required), or for hotel and bunkhouse accommodation phone 01478 650204. I am promised this is too early for the midges... Problems with the scanner when I've sorted it I'll send you the full list of events
  19. Yeah, It's a bit depressing when I see all your super shiny well cared for bikes. I understand it will rain towards the end of the week. If it's heavy it should wash off some of the muck, if it's it light it add another layer. She'll probably get a wash down tomorrow before going to Welsh Waltz later in the week, but with freezing overnight temperatures they will salt the roads and she'll look like crap before I get there. I think the finish could have been a bit more resilient. I assume you noticed the missing paint under the dirt and oil. But Guy is right she gets used every day for commute to and fro work as well as whenever I need to pop out and don't need to take a car. That's what I tried last time because of the balance pipe issues I had as well. I had hoped that would do the trick
  20. I'm in I'll bring my string to keep the bike lashed together. Going away for next weekend wife wants to leave after school on Friday. I think she'll have the hump if I say see you there. But might be possible. The weather definitely looks best for Wednesday. I'm flexible as long as we decide by 10ish the night before. Meet at the Ponderosa as before? If you need to find out where I'm picking bits up from my mobile is O79743O3718
  21. Thank you for your kind offer Guy, but hopefully won't be needed. First thing this morning I fitted the Yoshi strap. It's for a round can but has bent enough to fit, and not crush the can. I haven't been able to fully close the strap and have one tang either side of the footrest hanger and tecno stay. The bolt is also the wrong way currently as was easier to force it on that way around and then wind it in. Once it's got used to being in that position I might turn the bolt around. There always has been some wobble in this can KB and BigJ both have commented in the past and tried to cinch the clamps up some more to no avail. What should I do to remove the cause or stop the replacement bracket doing the same. Should I try and put a pair of rubber blocks either side of the plate to allow it some movement? Just carry a spare? The last bracket probably did less than 3,000 miles as went at the end of October. On this rate equivalent of one per weekend trip around Scotland
  22. It's allright Ben's trying to get a bodge point Go into (click on) "your controls" and then "Edit your signature" In the text box put img inside of square brackets at the front and /img in square brakets after that text ending in .gif. The same way as posting a picture in the forum. If they are coming up too big will have to do the size box first and close all tags at the end
  23. Popped down to town first thing this morning, did what I had to do and as I left there was a strange but vaguely familiar noise from the right hand side exhaust and a rasp on entering the roundabout Quick look down showed the exhaust can sticking out. Pulled up and yes that exhaust mounting clamp had also failed across the bolt hole. I was out side the police station so popped in and initial tried to tie it up with several property bag seals (cable ties with serial numbers) but they were too brittle and just snapped so went for some sellotape. I didn't have my piece of string with me I initially thought it was the other side than happened last time. But I was wrong. Hopefully GB Spares can do their magic and find me one of a scrap can as they did last time the bracket is not available individually. I also picked up a can hanger from the bike spares place in the old town which I can fit (I hope) in the mean time. I don't want to meet Orson in Wales with my bike held together with sticky tape and string.
  24. Couldn't get enough steering lock to get them on the steam packet ferry with the dustbin so it had to go? or was there an observed trials section and was just too nadgery? or more sensibly brake cooling? too bumpy and would ground out?
  25. I dipped in there the other day the web site is progressing but the forum seemed to be still stuck from several weeks ago. She seems to making some progress but slowly. The strength with the owners club lies in Gambulunga and the events, if the web was too good it would reduce the impact of the magazine. Who would publish articles if they'd allready been shown on the web
