  1. I can't see the map now that i'm at work See the pictures though
  2. Ben, I took the post as it was ment, and wasn't unduely offended. Unfortunately my wife was looking over my shoulder wasn't quite so understanding. But thats life. Likewise I could have PM'd you or gone crying to Jaap. But It's better to make you squirm. That's what a would do. Anyway you have a good new year I should have just made it home from work (on the Guzzi) as you toast the new year in. Martin
  3. I was thinking about something similar the other day but envisaged blobs on a bitmap. This is I think a bit too precise for me. I know they're not the most stealable bikes in the world and mine has sat outside my house for the best part of a year. If it had been a moped or dirt bike I'm sure it would have gone. But there again I don't hide my number plate on the net and in my sig it has a rough geographic location. I'm sure no one would steal a blistered and flaky painted V11, Edit - bitten the bullet - the locations aren't so precise for the UK
  4. I thought that was a fly or a smudge on your picture, but on full size I can see that its a broad winged raptor of some sort. Eagle, buzzard what do they have there? Last year going up the Wye valley I saw a buzzard and kites allways nice to see.
  5. Have you been watching Orson in the shower again!
  6. This me chasing my youngest son Michael (see link in sig for full story) at last years sports day at his "Special" school. Trying to get him to run, his hat would fall off and he would stop. So ended up with me running behind him with my hand on top of his head keeping his hat on. LOL We didn't win I think we got one second. They get stickers. The idea was then to place the stickers on your card and then laminate it. We had hysterics when it came to taking the stickers off his T shirt and stick on to the card. But the stickers were fast becoming unsticky as he would keep taking them off and repositioning them on his shirt so need to be moved to the card.
  7. Yesterday we recieved a weather warning of 80% chance of snow for today from the met office. We sprang in to "Operation Headless Chicken" trying to ensue we knew which staff who would come in early and where the usable 4x4s were. etc This morning the snow was about 1" FFS. Took it easy popping out to get a new battery for the car. Cranking power had deminished. But by the time I was going to work the rain started and was washing it away. Had I left 15 minutes later I could have safely taken the bike. If it stays like this I'll be on it for tomorrow, though working 1700-0300 so will have to watch the overnight temperature.
  8. Arh Flemmings Right Hand Rule Put your hand in the pistol grip position - Forefinger - direction of magnetic Field Index - current (I) thuMb - Motion can't remember if right hand rule was for motors and left hand rule for generators or vise a versa. But as you ride your Guzzi through the earths magnetic field it will generate a current that causes your ECU fuse to blow. There you go Carl solved it, when you braked your forks compressed causing the spine frame to be at the correct angle of dip in relation to the earths magnetic field the blow as you struck your neighbours car magnatised your frame. And your fuse blows because of Mr Flemmings rules, you can stop it by not riding through (east or west) the earth's magnetic field. You should be safe as long as you go north south (magnetic of course)
  9. Is that as in VW?
  10. Okay Jim, on yer heliocoptor, does it turn significantly faster with the direction of rotor rotation?
  11. Sounds great - Do you know what you'll be riding yet? There are a couple of rallies going on whilst you're over. I think you'd miss the Erin in Ireland as 9-11 June, Then there's the V11 one in Germany the following weekend 16-18 June. And the Boxmoor one in Holland the following week. These are all north of your route. If you have a look at Pexi.blogs.com he has various trip reports around the south of France including the route Napoleon on his Brevas Remember take lots of photos and post a trip report
  12. Great for dog fighting only if turning the right way. There are a whole lot of forces acting on your Guzzi. I haven't a clue about the magnatude and efffects of any in particular. We make all the nessecary calculations subconsiously. Otherwise it would be awkward taking ones gloves and boots off to to these calculations manualy. Next you'll be wanting to put lighter componets or shave your fly wheel
  13. The inline four - is across the frame so hence a gyroscopic effect. the guzzi is longatudenal so the rotating moment is around the crank axis and theoreticly will force you down in right handers and up in left handers (provided i've got the rotation the right way) but i dont think the effect is as great as that of the rotary engine on a sopwith camel
  14. using google in the new international version John only has 21 chapters not 31 but 21:17 ends "Lord, you know all things; you know that I love you." Which is what Jim was trying to tell Noggers
  15. When I get my new tyres the man always gives me warnings to take it easy even on warm days (he says they're worse). I had mine on for a couple of days, less than a 100miles and had the back end step out after just setting out. leaving my street on to the larger road through the estate. About 100yds travelled done a "s" bend and was just turning right out of the "T" The road was a bit damp and there is a building site in my street so there could have been a bit of additional grease/mud. coupled with perhaps a bit much go in order to make the gap in traffic. Felt like it stepped out into the next county shut the throttle, pick it up and steer in instictively, Heart dives into stomach. So it's easily done
  16. 109 inches or 278 cm was the length of the string that I found and was able to utalise. I could have made do with a shorter piece. But as far as string goes you can't have too much of a good thing. I would think there is a minimum length for a piece of string any shorter it wouldn't be string. It would need to double back on itself and be able to be tied to itself to have a minimal functionality.
  17. It's an old wives tale that your failing eyesight is down to too much "flute" playing
  18. I'm looking out the front window, and there's bits of snow lying on the grass. The road is mostly clear apart from a couple of patches in the road. I think I could negotiate past those and get to the main roads. Tempted to take the bike to work 1200-2200 shift today. But the BBC are posting Temps of -1 max and -4 as a min. I think it will have to be the car
  19. I think Ben means the Rosso Mandello. Like wot Jim's got. You can never tell with the American spin on English
  20. I saw the UK Press bike at Haywards of Cambridge. It bits with the engine apart on the bench after it blew up whilst on a group test They also had the Rosso Corsa ex Press Bike for sale.
  21. Leads nicely on to the Three Scurateers (tm - BFG, his picture is posed) Okay there's a Lemans rider obscured in the background
  22. As you asked so nicely
  23. Very dramatic Frankie. Don't you have to make sure you're always on the sunny side of the street, and back before the temperture starts to drop. There's a bit of melt water coming off there I'd hate to meet that when it starts to freeze. Here it's just grey and slushy Might clear enough to take her to work tomorrow
  24. Hey Guys it's Christmas! Please resurrect old threads at Easter
  25. I've been using mine this weekend. Been on nights over the weekend. 7-7 Fri and Sat and 11-7 for Christmas. The way in has been quite good with the roads mostly dry, but coming back they were very damp and on Christmas morning quite foggy. But today the snow has arrived. and she hasn't made it back into the garage yet
