Isn't that the same as a NIP* and a summons for due care No seriously, sorry to hear about this, glad that relatively minor and heres to a speedy recovery. *NIP- Notice of Intended Prosecution, required to be given within 14 days for various traffic offences, except after an accident that the driver was aware of. "You will be reported for consideration of the question of prosecution for the offence of...."

Now I can answer this as I have some experience. When I completed my RAF Officer training I held (waiting specialist secondary training) at Cranwell helping out on the officer training (instant expert) mainly driving the safety vehicles. I was confronted one day by a fallen pine tree, about 12-18" diameter fallen across the trail. Tackled it the same way I used to on my trials bike. Drive up to it. Ease off to get the weight transference forward compress the front suspension, big heap of throttle. Front comes up and over, ease off and momentum and weight transference carries the back over. Piece of piss. The next day confronted by a large trunk about 18-24". Full of confidence I can do excess of 3' on the trials bike. The problem is cant get at this one square on. Same methodology. Front comes up nicely get wheels on top and then it goes all horribly wrong the right goes over whilst the left doesn't and drops back. Falls on to the steering tie rod arm thingy (technical term) bending it. Couldn't go forward or back. In the end had to get it jacked up and pulled back by a load of officer cadets. I drove it back to the depot. Tyres squealing very difficult to go left and shot around right handers rather akin to a Sopwith Camel (torque reaction from large rotary engine) This cost me a case of beer for the mechanics to fix and ended up walking for the rest of the week. When I say walking I mean running about the mountainside with the Officer Cadets. And then there was the time I got stuck in mud up to its floor pan. Any one want to let me have a go in their 4X4

Some rambling thoughts. I really enjoyed the ERIN rally this year. The weather was good but the main thing was the company. We formed our own little V11lemans.com clique. The Celtic soul brothers, no not Dexy’s Midnight runners but BFG, J O’S, Ferg, Big J and non indigenous Celt Baldini with me as Englishman abroad (but not in a poncy Quentin Crisp manner) It’s difficult to take a long period away from the family. I have four children aged 3 to 14 including one who has learning difficulties and is developmentally delayed. It is selfish of me to take extended periods away from my family placing the burden solely on my wife. There seems to be some sort of conspiracy between them. When I went to Holland Michael put playdough in his ears. When I went to Wales he put sponge pieces up his nose. Both times I ended up taking him to the hospital the following day to have them removed; at least with the sponge it didn’t require anaesthetic to sedate him to remove it. Getting a good turn out. Chris’ last two events Spean Bridge and Dodford speak for themselves when you compare the numbers when you look at the difference in events, no camping, remote location. Four seemed like a good size of group to waltz around Wales and also south west Eire. But 20 plus V11s going across the tops of the dikes was a fantastic sight. I suppose it’s how you organise the group so it can fragment if needed. Guy can bring his “2006 freight train” and be Road Captain. What I’m trying to get at is I’m fairly game for anything day trips are easy I will travel to participate. The odd overnighter isn’t too much of a problem also. I can also do a couple of long weekends Thurs am to Mon pm or similar. The full Celtic run might be too much in one go. But could extend the Erin or do an Irish V11. BFG I will come and ride with you next year one way or another.

Roads look wet. Must have just stopped

Would we get a two day weather window? Would we need to book rooms in advance? or could we do like this time look for the gap in the weather. Causes difficulty if you can't get away at short notice. It would fall right at the start of my leave year so I could block book a week if not too many people allready off. Wouldn't preclude people joining for a single day if some notice of route/overnight/lunch stops etc or mobiles But yes I'm up for it.

This would seem to be the one

Unfortunately you are right about Richard Britton

thats ok then thank you really need to back page and start from there, it's all to do with being on the forum at work and time and bringing up previous posts. Was going to do the whole post as hyperlinks but got bored. Trying to reference this through the change of a singe letter but thought I'd better show how I'd got there

And regarding Guzzirider shouldn't that be Harleyrider or in the context of this thread Harveyrider

and I understand just the tails. Thiugh they're more eccologicaly sound than the bison tounge hunters and shark fin fishermen, they throw them back. I'm not sure if they expect them to grow back

You obviously haven't been reading all my posts on Jap's forum - I should have been going to the GMG. But stuck in Blighty doing decorating etc It's just like the telly - everything is connected and it all makes sense at the end. And its in colour so it must be true. I take full responsibility for my part in this sorry affair. I propose that we have an enquiry and that I take the findings forward and produce a developmental programe so that I can minimise the chances of a repetition. Or could go for a ride instead. "ah Time" You obviously haven't been reading all my posts on Jap's forum - I should have been going to the GMG. But stuck in Blighty doing decorating etc Deja a vu moment there Another week off work back to nights though Monday week so plenty of time to research for quiz points provided I don't have to control any pursuits or take calls about Baldini's bucket on the motorway

Is your nom de plume Lucrecia darling ? or is that only on saturdays? Looking forward to the case of the cored Guzzi where you fit the 1225 barrels

On line torygraph article on Griso

Thank you all becomes much clearer now, having eliminated the possible only the seemingly impossible remains. and a fitting story for the V11Lemans.com christmas panto.

Up right and fully screwed in, can't see it being any different from all the rest

Jason is making me some ointment. Tantalizing glimpses, the orangeness of the tank yesterday, and the questionable orientation of your footrest. What has happened to “the Stickleback” is it metamorphosing in to “the Perch” or should that be “Peach”. I’ve even been to your hosted photos but I’m none the wiser

Over here I think the lack of steering stop would be an MOT (yearly test for all vehicles over 3 years old) fail. I don't know if you have a simular set up over there. Prevents all sorts of unplesantness such as squashed thumbs

On the right its my toe, but I do ride like Charlie Chaplin and have big feet. On the left my side stand rubber fell off, I've not touched anything yet

I got both references the first time I've no intrest in the "glorious game" but its nice in a perverse way when they get their comeupance against a team that they "should beat easily" I did catch the last 10 minutes against France in the World Cup(?) when they threw it away. (what abunch of tossers). For some reason I used to play cricket mostly tedium interspaced with moments of terror hoping that the ball would bounce well before it reached you in the out field so you wouldn't get castigated for dropping a catch. But on to the more important ashes. I trust that you are safe and this isn't happening on your doorstep. I had some involvement in the Marsh Farm, Luton "riots" six years ago but by the time I got there on the Friday (day 3) once my normal role was dealt with it was virtually over. Those last photos are quiet worrying, being daylight, normally expect this to beocurring at night. It does go to show that some things are slow to change as far as NI goes. Best wishes and stay safe

This is looking rather orange for a matt black scura tank. Are the flashes of colour spreading on your bike?

I've never had one open, but even if both rods share the same throw of the crank the con rods have to sit next to each other, the piston will sit centrally on the rod. So there will be a fore and aft difference in center line of 2x 1/2 the thickness of the con rod pluss any shiming washer thingy between. The push rod tunnel is the more obvious as they are not driven off the same lobe.

There's nothing strapped to the crome luggage rack on the top box. Leaving your gloves on it whilst taking the picture doesn't count. Go back and try harder. Go get the kitchen sink
