  1. Started work on replacing the seat with a classic style cafe racer type seat. I'll be using bits of the old subframe.
  2. I mean I removed mine.
  3. So did I. I never have a need for it.
  4. Nice project ! I'm working on creating a new subframe myself and I was wondering where to put the electronis. Where are you going to put the fuses and relais ? Won't the ECU get to hot under the tank (nearer to the engine) ?
  5. After taking out the lower bolt of the spring and turning the ui joint to an upward position I was able to use a flexible hose. I didn't take the wheel out.
  6. I fitted a pair of MASS Tromb Titan mufflers and they look great. They are a bit louder and have a bit darker/gruntier sound. No adjustments were needed. Without the DB killers they are much louder and adjustments are definitely required.
  7. Hey I made it home without any issues ! Of course the right side of the bike and my boot were completely covered in oil when I got home but ther was still enough oil in the pan. I probably could use a helping hand fixing the gaskets so I'll go down and get some more beer.
  8. I'll do that Kiwi_Roy. Now on my way to home....
  9. Thanks for your prompt reply gstallons. I cleaned everything this morning and I will check the oil later today. If the level is somewhere above mid-dipstick I'll carefully ride it home. I intend to replace the gasket with a new one.
  10. When I got to work this morning I discovered the righthand valvecover gasket was leaking. At the moment there is enough oil in the pan but I'm not sure if I should ride it home for repairs. It's about 23 km (14 miles). What do you think ?
  11. Waiting for something......
  12. Yeah....I've seen those Mivv's but I think they are a bit to small. I assume they are very loud as well. Stewgnu, Do you have any pictures off the Mistrals you have ?
  13. I agree about the welds but I'm looking for pipes that are shorter than the originals. I do like the shape of them.
  14. Hi everyone, I'm looking round for some new mufflers and was thinking about the below MASS slip-on muffler. Has anyone had any experience with this model ? Thanks, Walter
  15. Enjoy the ride ! That's why I sold my Honda Fireblade for the V11.
  16. Thanks for the advice MartyNZ. I've been riding the bike all year round and it stood outside a lot. The contacts didn't look very clean so I'll check all the electrics and see what else needs to done.
  17. This morning I turned the ignition key on, pushed the starter button ..... and nothing happened. I took out the relays under the seat, had an intelligent look at them, put them back in and after pushing the starter button again the bike fired right up ! Not a big thing but I was happy it was easily solved in a few minutes. You gotta love these bikes !
  18. Thanks Stewgnu. It all makes sence now
  19. Sorry guys but what does "cca" stand for ?
  20. I'm no expert on this but maybe you could mount the spindle on a piece of plywood to make it more stable and make it just the right size so that it sits against the front of the paddock stand. If the stand roles foreward it'l push the plywood forward thus moving the spindle forward. Maybe something like this ?

    Parts Bike

I'm thinking about modifying my subframe or getting another one and change that so I'll still have my original subframe for safe keepings. Do you still have the subframe ?
  22. Like some of you said. Stick your knee out further and shift your body to the side like a friend of mine is doing here on his California. The bike is hardly under an angle but he's having loads of fun !

    Gone Guzzi

What a bummer ! It happened to me once with an old Suzuki. I can still feel the pain sometimes.... Don't forget to post a picture once you get a new bike.
  24. Hi Martin, How are you progressing with your seat ? I see your'e in Vlaardingen so maybe ftr-classic-motorsports in Krimpen aan den IJssel or Westland Customs in Honselersdijk can help you. www.ftr-classic-motorsports.nl www.westlandcustoms.com Walter
  25. I found that my right sparkplug cap didn't quite fit snug enough so just to be sure I took a bit of solder, flatted that with a hammer and fitted it inside the cap. (I read that somewhere). The engine runs much smoother now and definitely has more power again (not more than when I bought it). Up to now I haven't found any cracks or other leaks in my exhaust. But I keep my eyes open.
