I checked again with the guy who actually tried to setup the connection and Paul is right about the correct sequence. The disconnect happens when we start te bike not when you turn the key. I was already suspecting a poor battery as starting the bike on any given day seems like a "heavy" task for the starter. It kind off slowly turns over three times and then the bike fires up. After a 30 minute ride it starts much better. I already have several reasons for replacing the battery. This is another one.

Spit, Sputter, Hiccup, Cough at around 3,000 RPM

If I put my hands on both exhaust nozzles while the engine is running should it stall or start running bad in some way ? I tried this and it didn't seem to matter. The bike doesn't sound louder then normal though. -

I checked the TB sync two weeks ago and it was perfect. The intake boots are ok and I had a quick look at the exhaust and found nothing suspicious. In the comming weeks I hope to have some time to have a look at the TPS and valve clearance. -

Rhino, Did you manage to solve this yet ? It seems I have the same problems but between 2000 and 2500 rpm. Especially when the engine is all warmed up. In heavy traffic it's an unwilling monster to ride when changing rpm all the time. Walter -

This weekend we hooked up several Guzzi's (4 California's, a Sport 1200 and my V11 2003 Le Mans to GuzziDiag and my bike was the only one with connecting problems. The way (try) to get things working is to connect the cables to both the laptop and V11. Guzzidiag then gets some data from the bike (like the ECU id) and instructs me to turn on the ignition key. As soon as I do that GuzziDiag resets all values to zero as if the bike wasn't connected. I suspect that maybe a voltage drop is causing this but alas we forgot to measure this. Any ideas as to what may be causing the 'disconnect' ? Walter

Just found this Unpacking the cans topic in the How To section... (For some reaseon I can never find what I'm looking for with the Search box).

Well, guess who got fooled ? ............Again.......! I took off the outer sleeve and found out that everything is welded up inside.....! If I cut into the muffler now I won't know what I'll be cutting and maybe destroying. Any ideas as to what's inside ? Exactly ?

 Great video ! Took me back a while. Loved it !

Hi Ed, Would you please post a picture of how you mounted the sensor ? Thx !

I don't think it's from the fuel overflow in the tank because I just found out that it's clogged up !

Thanks for the links guys. Very helpfull. I now know what to drink when working on my bike... I replaced the packing of my Fireblade last year and the construction and the inside of the pipes look just the same so I should not have any problems (yeah, right!).

I'm thinking about shortening the pink ones for (hopefully) a better sound and then paint/anodize them. Someone on this forum shortened his pipes and posted that in here somewhere... I'll try to find that post...

Very nice ! Except for that typical German upward pointing tail piece. To me it seems very much out of place.

Because of the colour of the stains I assumed it had something to do with fuel. I'll do a better inspection when I get home.

I have noticed that stains are appearing on the spot where I park my bike every day. I checked underneath the bike and everything is dry except for a small drop hanging from a black tube just behind the engine case. Any ideas as to what is happening ? It looks like fuel is leaking onto the ground but why ? The stains don't appear after every ride though. Walter

Thanks everyone for the tips ! I'll look into them and see what can be done over here.

Last year I bought a 2003 Le Mans. It came with the original mufflers. I asked the guy why he bought the bike with pink mufflers. He said they were black originally but turned pink over time. Can this be true ? And is there a way to replace or get rid of the pink colour (without buying a new set) ? I bought the bike with 49000 km's (30000 miles) on it. Walter

Since mine is apart and the switch is easy-access, I decided to do a little preventative maintenance as suggested. But I'm stuck. I've been trying to release the white or black tabs and prying a bit at the seam near the bottom. But no release. IMG_3114.jpg Am I supposed to take the black Zadi switch apart? If so, how? The black tabs release the black rounded cap with the hole in it. Once open you pry the white tabs to release the white contacts plate.

How are the 3D printed stacks holding up with the vibrations and what sort of 3D filament did you use ?

I can't wait to hear how the GPR sounds. I also want to see more of the bike and make it look less 'heavy' in the rear.
-
Good job ! I'll remember the use of the oven instead of heating them with a flame.

Hey Guzzisti, It's been almost exact one year ago but I'm considering buying an exhaust system from GPR. How does your system sound ?
