I've penciled it in pending weather. If we go, I'll have to put the luggage rack and hard bags on again. :D

Hey Guys if anyone is around next Saturday be great to see you :

4th Annual Autumnal Mt. Equinox VT. Dead Engine Race

This Saturday 9-29-07. This is an awesome fall foliage ride that started with Moto Guzzi’s and goes from points south of Great Barrington, MA. to Manchester, VT. A great time of year to be in these incredible mountains. Mt Equinox is a private (No Cops!) mountain and its only road, the Skyline Drive climbs 3,248 feet in 5.2 miles and is the longest private mountain paved road in the country! At the toll house/visitor center you pay $6.00.

After a free form :bike: spirited ride to the top, we take a nice break for foliage oohs and ahs, etc. Then we line up all willing participants at the crest; with motorcycles in neutral and engines off, for the Dead Engine Race down the mountain. We push off and the rider who makes it the farthest without putting a foot to pavement (disqualified) or an engine start (unbelievably disqualified) wins. A real blast. Lots of “Silent Passing”. After a few miles the road runs up, so everyone eventually comes to some type of conclusion. We then head to Manchester for lunch and to figure out how the winner cheated. The all points return ride includes Vermont Rt. 100 past the Ski areas.

*Very important-Do not mention “RACE” at toll house.

This ride is so unique folk songs have been written about it!

Looks great!

I have both rallies on my calendar.

Mapquest says it's a 2 hour 40 minute trip from Manchester to Monson, probably longer on the back roads. Looks tight, but possible, to take it all in and arrive at Monson before sundown.

Sounds like a good time so I will plan on it. That Dunkin Dounuts in Hoosick is practically in my backyard so i'll meet you all there at 10.

Sorry I missed you guys at Mt. Equinox. It was a tough choice, either get on the road at 6:00 AM to catch up with you at Great Barrington, or a couple hours later and head directly to the NEMG annual campout in Monson by the scenic route.

The NEMG was a blast, with about 30-40 bikes and a beautiful campground. Great food, raffled off good stuff, 50-50 and door prizes, even singing and music by a blazing campfire!

I got there late, and hadn't seen a motel for over an hour and a half on the route I took. Agnes and Joe were kind enough to put me up in their luxurious camper.

A great time, great weather, and great people.

Glad to hear Guzzi's took first and second. Congrats.
