Value when new

I don't know what these stupid insurance companies are up to here in Canada, but they are basing the cost of insurance on the PRICE WHEN NEW, for motorcycles.

 

I imported my USED 2000 V-11 Sport from the USA, so I have NO IDEA what the Price WHEN NEW might have been.

 

Anyone know the answer to this?

I believe most of the stealerships were selling them for about $11,500 but you could probably get away with saying 11k.

This is true but leftovers may have sold for half that just after Aprilia took control in 2002.

Here in BC you state the value of your bike and that is what it is insured for but the premium is also based on that as well.

 

I know Alberta has changed a lot (it used to be great for insurance) but I didn't know it was that bad. Do they think everyone has their own oil well?
