Guest davindav Posted February 10, 2007 Posted February 10, 2007 I've noticed a buzzzz/vibration between 3500-4000 rpms on my almost new 04 V-11 Sport. I checked/tightened all I could see on the flyscreen and speedo unit. I can't seem to find the noise, but it sounds like something near the headlight/speedo/flyscreen area. Any suggestions? David
Guest ratchethack Posted February 10, 2007 Posted February 10, 2007 David, many hereabouts (myself included) have posted with complaints of failing rubber bushings and support washers in the top triple clamp that support the two through-bolts securing the instrument bracket. The bushings and washers seem to shrink and compact with age and the cumulative effects of vibration. This allows the bracket to tilt forward, allowing the instrument housing to contact the flyscreen. The source of the vibration noise was difficult to find in my case for quite awhile. Once I found it, my solution was to beef up the collapsed support washers at the top of the stack under the instrument bracket with a set of large rubber washers I happened to have on hand and re-mount. Problem solved and hasn't been back since. Hope this helps.
mike wilson Posted February 11, 2007 Posted February 11, 2007 Didn't someone have a problem with the horn just touching something?
grossohc Posted February 11, 2007 Posted February 11, 2007 I had the same thing, it was the fairing vibrating against the headlamp, see if its that next time you are out on the bike by holding the fairing screen when you hear it. Some one posted a couple of pictures on here using thin rubber between the fairing/headlamp in 2 or 3 points, cured it for me Gary
