jenslh Posted February 16, 2007 Posted February 16, 2007 Hi, Inspired by the recent project where Harold in Germany started a small production run of Daytona/Centauro valvecovers, I'll try to start a similar project based on my own expertise. My project is quite simply a high quality wrist watch like this: with a dial like this: For the project to start, I need 50 preorders. Plenty of details on http://www.guzzitech.dk/wristwatch What do you think ? /Jens http://www.guzzitech.dk/english

Alex-Corsa Posted February 16, 2007 Posted February 16, 2007 Hi, Inspired by the recent project where Harold in Germany started a small production run of Daytona/Centauro valvecovers, I'll try to start a similar project based on my own expertise. /Jens http://www.guzzitech.dk/english I think the Guzzi eagle could be the more modern graph.perhaps some other design.IMO eaagle and logo shold be all under and let the upper side with the watch's brand to be displayied Can help with other design if you wish, free of charge of cource...
KiloSjon Posted February 16, 2007 Posted February 16, 2007 you have my attention, how much $$$$ aprox? and would it be painted on or possibly metal type decals I'd really like to see a prototype Approx 350 USD... See: If enough people are interested, this could be an unique chance to purchase an unique, high quality timepiece of very limited production. It would be an outstanding way to display your favorite motorcycle brand, even when the dress code dos'nt allow printed t-shirts and brass belt buckle.... Nope - it aint cheap (quality items seldom are), but with the nessecary quantity of 50 pieces, I'm able to offer this watch below usual street price, despite of the higher cost caused by the special dial. Price is USD 350,- (aprox. EUR 268,-), and includes shipping world wide. Please do an internet search to se the price level of a plain JUNKERS 6256-2, but please note that most are sold with mineral mineral glass, not sapphire. (There's a significant quality difference between mineral glass and sapphire) You could also do a search on other watches that features the ETA 2824-2 movement - you'll hardly find anything below USD 500,- I'm not asking prepayment from anybody, till we know if we can collect 50 preorders or not. Please send me an e-mail with your name and adress if you want to pre-order the Moto Guzzi watch. I'll use this site to let you know of the pre-order progress. Please spread the word........

jenslh Posted February 16, 2007 Author Posted February 16, 2007 Wow - a truly amazing interest in the project. Thanks. After less than 24 hours from launching the idea, I have 8 preorders, so if we continue at this speed we could have the project to start in less than 1 week Reaching the redline of 50 units can only be done with your help, so please spread the word and don't forget to mention the project in French/German/Italian/Dutch/Spanish forums. Please read all details on the project here: http://www.guzzitech.dk/wristwatch, and please mail in your preorders at jenslh@guzzitech.dk This weekend, I'll include a preorder counter on the Wristwatch infopage, so everybody can see the number of preorders. I'd had a few comments on design and materials, but in generel, I can't change the watch design at this point. It's not likely that the entire Moto Guzzi community would ever agree on a design, and if I made any changes now, we would have to start the preorder proces all over. Here's the suggestions I've recieved: - Different design change proposals. - For the reasons mentioned avove I'll keep the current design for this project. - a suggestion to have both the JUNKERS logo and the Guzzi Logo on the dial. - The company behind the JUNKERS watches would not agree to this, they dont want to have their brand mixed with others. - a request for lower cost by using mineral glass, and cheaper movement. - Sorry, but this is not going to happen in this project. My basic idea was to offer the higest quality at a fair price and see if 50 people would be interested, I'll stick to that. But a quick thought occured to me: If this project is successful we may start a second one for a forum community watch, and let the members of the worldwide forums decide for materials and design. That could be fun, but I wonder if we would ever get to an agreement on the "right" watch /Jens http://www.guzzitech.dk/english
Guest drknow Posted February 16, 2007 Posted February 16, 2007 I'm in! How cool, a watch worthy of the logo. dk
badmotogoozer Posted February 16, 2007 Posted February 16, 2007 Very nice! If I wore watches, I'd buy one. Good luck with the endeavor. Rj

jenslh Posted February 16, 2007 Author Posted February 16, 2007 Just a small update - it's now excactly 24 hours from launch, and we have 14 preorders - not bad at all. And yes, the watch is basicly the same as the one from amazon.com as mentioned in a previous post, but with the sapphire glass as mentioned by Todd /Jens http://www.guzzitech.dk/english
callison Posted February 17, 2007 Posted February 17, 2007 I'm sort of partial to this factory authorized item - but it's no longer available. About 170 Euros when you could get them.

I really like that logo layout and hope that this junkers watch is similar and not just printed on the face. I just want the dial to look nice and the picture looks like a walmat timex, do they have examples of their work somewhere? I just want to sleep better that the dail will rock, too bad about not using the new logo but the old one is nice too.

They are available. EDIT: By pictured, I mean the red-dialed watch. Sorry!

callison Posted February 17, 2007 Posted February 17, 2007 Those the factory issued watch is shite, looks somewhat nice but a throw awayer You're dead wrong there mate. This is one of the nicest watches I've ever owned, nicer even than some of the Accutron watches I've had in the distant past. It has a massive polished stainless steel case with the Moto Guzzi eagle etched on the back as well as the raised eagle and lettering on the face. It's still a perfectly common electronic watch inside, but the case and band are first rate. When I say massive though, I'm not kidding. It must weigh nearly a half pound. And it's huge. I only wear it on special occasions like my anniversary which oddly enough, is today, which is why I even have it out of its fancy metal box with the Moto Guzzi logoed lid.
