Alex-Corsa Posted February 19, 2007 Posted February 19, 2007 gearboxes starting from CF011500 and CL011200 are helical cut. where should one look for this number to be?
Paul Minnaert Posted February 19, 2007 Posted February 19, 2007 somewhere on the gearbox, maybe behind starter engine, I don't know where they put it that years.
Alex-Corsa Posted February 19, 2007 Posted February 19, 2007 somewhere on the gearbox, maybe behind starter engine, I don't know where they put it that years. OK , so that's a seperrate number nothing to do with the frame number and the engine number. Thanks
raz Posted February 19, 2007 Posted February 19, 2007 OK , so that's a seperrate number nothing to do with the frame number and the engine number. Thanks Yup, it's right behind the upper rear engine mount. I was surprised to find it when I cleaned the engine thoroughly after a breather hose breakage. I'm in the straight-gear range but I suspect, and hope, that some PO has fixed it 'cause there is evidence of a dismount, there was no metal on the magnet and I hear absolutely no whining from the fifth gear Anyone know if there is a way to inspect the fifth gears through any of the available peep-holes in the box? Would be a nice thing to know without dismantling.
rocker59 Posted February 20, 2007 Posted February 20, 2007 here's a great '96 Sport 1100: http://phoenix.craigslist.org/mcy/269927088.html I test-rode it (nice owner!). Strong, powerful, and well-thought-out. It just didn't fit me, so I passed. But I thought it was a quite good deal. check it out.... Mine could be bought (I'm getting itchy for something different), and it has some very sexy goodies on it.... Just sayin'
Tom M Posted March 2, 2007 Posted March 2, 2007 Hey Turo, If you're still looking there's a local 96 Sport that's been hot rodded a bit for sale on the Guzzitech site: http://www.guzzitech.com/Classifieds.html No price there and I don't know the owner or the bike.
