dhansen Posted April 8, 2007 Posted April 8, 2007 I dunno. Damn thing looks british to me...........the tank/seat at least. Chain is on the offside of most bikes. And what is that car in the background? Looks 50's vintage to my USA eyes.
mike wilson Posted April 11, 2007 Author Posted April 11, 2007 One last clue. Somebody should get it from this. Not a one-off, although not many (single figures) were made. An almost direct copy of something else.
DeBenGuzzi Posted April 12, 2007 Posted April 12, 2007 that didn't help me for some reason, its been awhile too, if there's nothing by tonight at 10pm when I get home somebody is getting another stump, Those things are starting to fly out the door
g.forrest Posted April 12, 2007 Posted April 12, 2007 your hints are illusionary mr wilson. your welcome to your stump..i just want to know the answer.
mike wilson Posted April 12, 2007 Author Posted April 12, 2007 Looks like I will be telling you in the morning.
mike wilson Posted April 13, 2007 Author Posted April 13, 2007 1964 Vostok Grand Prix 350 USSR Apparently an almost identical copy of the MV of the time, four were made. I can't find any record of them ever racing. Vostock was the Soviet capsule that carried Yuri Gagarin into space.

I looked through the Russian stuff but somehow managed to miss Vostok. What is the connection to Bowie and Reed?
mike wilson Posted April 13, 2007 Author Posted April 13, 2007 Thank you. It suprised me when I found it, too. Would like to know more but there's little online. I have some (Russian) books on their motorcycles. I think I'll do some scanning over the weekend... On Lou's (produced by Bowie) Transformer album, there's a song called "Satellite of Love"
