belfastguzzi Posted April 11, 2007 Posted April 11, 2007 Just thought I´d say hello from Brazil as I found the perfect place for banter and silly business. There´s a street corner here where you can sit all night, drink caipirinhas and from the passing cast of characters, one unbelievable story unfolds after another, in front of your eyes. Cool. I need a Film Council grant to come back with a camera and a bodyguard. BTW I haven´t seen one motorcyclist wear any protective clothing at all, apart from a helmet. In the constant sunny hotness, it´s all bare hands, bare shoulders, bare legs; little bike or sports bike. Be back sometime. Wish you were here etc.... BFG Salvador
Guzzirider Posted April 12, 2007 Posted April 12, 2007 Remember they can't extradite you from Brazil to face justice back home if you father a child to a Brazilian mother! It worked for Ronnie Biggs! Enjoy your stay! Guy
g.forrest Posted April 12, 2007 Posted April 12, 2007 Remember they can't extradite you from Brazil to face justice back home if you father a child to a Brazilian mother! It worked for Ronnie Biggs! Enjoy your stay! Guy ''is BFG on the run?
ferguzzi Posted April 12, 2007 Posted April 12, 2007 Well, if he eats all the beef they feed him down there, he may get the runs!
stormsedge Posted April 12, 2007 Posted April 12, 2007 Name that street corner and establishment...I may have need of it.
belfastguzzi Posted April 23, 2007 Author Posted April 23, 2007 Name that street corner and establishment...I may have need of it. Well, this is the corner / bar / establishment. I think you had to be there... The streets in daylight were more obviously attractive. This is not Belfast This is a fish This is another Caipirinha sampling session with some friends
Martin Barrett Posted April 23, 2007 Posted April 23, 2007 How long are you out there for? The limitations of 6 months for road traffic offences doesn't count if you flee the country so a summons can't be served.
belfastguzzi Posted April 23, 2007 Author Posted April 23, 2007 This is electricity This is white sand This is work, clearly This is 'superstar' Carlinhos Brown These are kids in the street smiling, is good How long are you out there for? Define 'out there'. Are you casting nasturiums?
dlaing Posted April 24, 2007 Posted April 24, 2007 This is 'superstar' Carlinhos Brown Hey Bahia Fast Guzzi, thanks for keeping us posted. Cool website and music http://carlinhosbrown.uol.com.br/ So, when are you getting your bikes and stuff shipped there? Have you figured out a way to stay and make a living? I'd offer to be your body guard but you would not live long under my protection Martin Barrett could be your man
Guzzirider Posted April 24, 2007 Posted April 24, 2007 Great pics BFG- looks like you are having a good time. Are you out there to find out how the Brazilians do it when it comes to carnivals? Guy
belfastguzzi Posted April 24, 2007 Author Posted April 24, 2007 Cool website and music http://carlinhosbrown.uol.com.br/ Oh yeah, I haven't seen that actually. It's a good site. Thanks One of the great things about Carlinhos is that he still lives and works in the very poor neighbourhood where he was born. He has created a very impressive music school and education project for the young people, developed the squalid housing and put in drainage and sewage, built music studios in the area etc... This intimate involvement with the people/communiy in his urban environment is in contrast to many who become 'superstars', whether music, football or whatever. see also: http://www.elmilagrodecandeal.com/
Martin Barrett Posted April 24, 2007 Posted April 24, 2007 Define 'out there'. Are you casting nasturiums? I think from that shirt and your riding pumps. We've already defined "out" (dam reverts to homophobic stereotype) I wouldn't cast nasturtiums as they're edible
dlaing Posted April 25, 2007 Posted April 25, 2007 I wouldn't cast nasturtiums as they're edible Is that a fact!?! We have plenty in our backyard This intimate involvement with the people/communiy in his urban environment is in contrast to many who become 'superstars', whether music, football or whatever. see also: http://www.elmilagrodecandeal.com/ and the website freely serve up a taste of the music, unlike many other superstars who nickel and dime you just for a taste of what they are selling. Bloody pimps and whoes!
