Karl Von Posted April 26, 2007 Posted April 26, 2007 Does anyone know if it possible to take the ring & pinion from a V11 Sport rear end and install it into a Tonti frame rear end box (t3-convert, etc..)
pete roper Posted April 26, 2007 Posted April 26, 2007 No. The pinion head is far too large for starters. The gearing would be absurdly high on a five speed too. What are you trying to achieve? Pete
Guest Nogbad Posted April 26, 2007 Posted April 26, 2007 Could you use the entire V11 driveline, gearbox, shaft and bevel box? Dunno, maybe Pete will answer that one.
pete roper Posted April 26, 2007 Posted April 26, 2007 Not in a Tonti. The shaft offset is too great. Pete
Paul Minnaert Posted April 26, 2007 Posted April 26, 2007 well you could, but when you are done, not much tonti is left.
Karl Von Posted April 27, 2007 Author Posted April 27, 2007 We have built a diesel powered ambassador with a 1225 3cyl motor. We are currently running a convert rear end and like some taller gearing. A 11/32 vs a 9/34 rear end might be better. but if the pinion is to large, I guess we need to stick with what we have.

I have heard of people using the 3 cyl Daihatsu 998cc diesel in special bikes.
