Does any onyone know if these can be mounted in the same position (lower with less "tuck") as the stock cans so as to allow the use of side bags, probably HB Journeys?

Yes, you can do this. The inlet pipe is not welded to the muffler, so you can rotate the relative positions of the two to mount them with the lower stock brackets.

My opinion is NO. ....therefore you must sell them (TO ME).

Yes they can, I have the teckno bags on mine and run the pipes lower much like the stock set up.
