wheelsucker Posted May 22, 2007 Posted May 22, 2007 The top triple tree clamp the the handlebars are screwed into, will anything happen if I loosen it up and take it off? I need to put on my convertibar clamps and just want to make sure I don't need to support the bike.
Paul Minnaert Posted May 22, 2007 Posted May 22, 2007 best to have the bike on a stand, and support the egine a bit so the front wheel has allmost no weight on it. That makes it easy to get it on again.
coz1100 Posted May 22, 2007 Posted May 22, 2007 When I did mine I didn't have a stand. It made for some fun times getting everything back together. Ciao Z
gargoyle Posted May 24, 2007 Posted May 24, 2007 Well I must have been lucky. When I installed my Convertabars I also didn't use a stand but I had no problems getting it all back togeather. Right now it is looking like a 50/50 shot. Once you do get them on and set up you are going to really like them.
slowkitty Posted May 24, 2007 Posted May 24, 2007 A block of wood under the oil sump to support it would do nicely. Cheers Cat
