Any clues

How do you pronounce "pizza" ??? Therein lies your answer...

"Peetsuh"

"Gootsee"

The two "Z"s make a "ts" sound...

I use to proudly pronounce it goootseee, and happilly correct people,

but then I got lazy and started letting people call it gooozeee,

and then it got worse and I also started calling it gooozeee,

and then I started riding my gooozeee around really slowly like it was a sow's ear on meds,

but then I read this thread and said, enough is enough!

It is time to get out and RIDE that Moto GoooTSeee!!! :bike:

....and call it by its proper name :mg:

Ah, time to break out the "English-Scots" dictionary then, and yes you do have to pay special attention to Glaswegian vs Edinbroughez, you'll know you have the right one if it contains a reference to the ancient and time honoured Scots marshall art of " fa-que"

as to the correct pronounciation of "Guzzi" it is as stated, and as told to me by a very serious Italian gentleman in his 80's who was admiring the sound of my :sun: Tenni  told me that..."Ahhh, THATS'a motorcycle, ....ahh thats'a sound .....magnifico"

"Goo-tze"...best said all rapped up in your best Italian accent, right shoulder slightly hunched, your right index and pointer fingers against your thumb with a slight up-down motion while saying ...

"Moe-toe Goo-tze" :P

Si,si . . . in a sing-song manner as Alice Agostini would . . . MO-tuh GOOT-zee :whistle::whistle:

or in the sing-song manner of the Knack's song MO-tuh GOOT-zee

Oo my little pretty one, pretty one

When you gonna give me some time, GOOT-zee?

Oo you make my motor run, my motor run

Gun it coming off of the line, GOOT-zee

Never gonna stop, give it up, such a dirty mind

I always get it up with a touch of the younger kind

My-ee ey-ee by-ee ahee ah woo!

Mo Mo MO-tuh GOOT-zee

Come a little closer, over here

Close enough to look in my eyes, GOOT-zee

Keep a little mystery, kissin' me

Runnin' down the length of my thigh, GOOT-zee

Never gonna stop, give it up, such a dirty mind

I always get it up from a touch of the younger kind

My-ee ey-ee by-ee ahee ah woo!

Mo Mo MO-tuh GOOT-zee

Mo Mo MO-tuh GOOT-zee

When ya gonna get to me, get to me

Is it just a matter of time, GOOT-zee

Is it a destiny, a destiny

Or is it just a game in my mind, GOOT-zee

Never gonna stop, give it up, such a dirty mind

I always get it up from a touch of the younger kind

My-ee ey-ee by-ee ahee ah woo!

Mo Mo MO-tuh Mo Mo MO-tuh

Myee ey-ee by-ee ahee ah woo!

Mo Mo MO-tuh GOOT-zee

Ooooh my GOOT-zee

But Docc, don't you find yourself often slipping into Tennessean, dropping the "T" to say "GOO-ZEE"? :mg: So much easier for the girl at Tractor Supply Company to understand. k

Right on the money Van. Doesn't hurt to have the Brando-like scratchy throat sound either. Although depending what region your family is from, any number of fingers can be pulled together with the thumb for proper visual aid. It is also note worthy that the more fingers that are joined, the more up & down motion is needed. Example: If you have all 4 fingers touching the thumb there should be four downward strokes in rhythm with the syllables 1) Mo 2) Toe 3) Goot 4) see. It there are only two fingers used, join them only on the last syllables, indicating that you feel the person is not a complete idiot and can pronounce "moto" on their own without any instruction. Also, just to fine tune, depending on how close you are to the individual, a slight fore & aft motion of the hand helps.

I'd like all of you to practice this in your spare time.
