RacerX Posted June 13, 2007 Posted June 13, 2007 My 'cooking' Brembos on the 2000 Sport lasted 48,000 miles of relentless use. Should I expect to replace 'race spec' rotors more often? Not normally, if you use spec'ed pads on the correct rotors, you should get just as many miles, if not more. The 5.0mm snowflake Brembos are the next step from the roundhole 4.0mm stockers. The 5.5mm FF SL's offer user replaceable friction disks, read you replace them, not the whole assy/carrier.
docc Posted June 13, 2007 Author Posted June 13, 2007 Interesting link... http://www.stoptech.com/tech_info/wp_warped_brakedisk.shtml Reading this makes me think it's a bad idea to change to different kinds of pads through the life of the rotor.
