Engine Balancing

Is there any value to the process of balancing the MG engine in the way that automobile engine builders balance hi perf engines?

 

From what I understand, the process involves weighing and equalizing piston and con-rod weights, and dynamic balancing of the rotating mass.

Brian, Ed Milich at GuzziTech is well experienced at balancing and blueprinting Guzzi big blocks. Over the years he's provided a lot of direction to guys doing this, as well as actual machine shop work. Of course, as with anything you do to a stock motor, there are a whole heap of trade-off considerations, depending on objectives and budget.
