BrianG Posted June 29, 2007 Posted June 29, 2007 Is there any value to the process of balancing the MG engine in the way that automobile engine builders balance hi perf engines? From what I understand, the process involves weighing and equalizing piston and con-rod weights, and dynamic balancing of the rotating mass.
Guest ratchethack Posted June 29, 2007 Posted June 29, 2007 Brian, Ed Milich at GuzziTech is well experienced at balancing and blueprinting Guzzi big blocks. Over the years he's provided a lot of direction to guys doing this, as well as actual machine shop work. Of course, as with anything you do to a stock motor, there are a whole heap of trade-off considerations, depending on objectives and budget. You might give Ed a shout, I'm sure he'd be glad to field a couple of questions.
