docc Posted July 22, 2007 Posted July 22, 2007 Have any of u guys altered/improved the battery ground connection by the way (compared to the original design)? Norman, Relay Failures is a good thread to read about the wiring of the v11. I have added a ground strap from the frame to the timing chest, moved the terminal stack from the battery to a junction block ( also called a 'bus'), grounded the horns and headlamps to the frame, and anchored the grounds inside the instruments. Have a look at this Accessory Fuse Box thread. Also, consider cleaning, tightening and applying copper anti-seize paste to any connectors you run across. Over time the electrics get better and better!
Garsdad Posted July 23, 2007 Posted July 23, 2007 Thanks for all the tips and help by the way Anybody got any tips on how to prepare the the injection fuel system, for winter storage (to avoid further problems of similar type)? Is it draining or to put something in the fuel the last autumn run? Every dry day over 40 degrees, ride it. I run through 3-4 tanks a winter. Granted, Oregon generally has mild winters, but unless you are snow-bound for 5 months straight, you should be able to clear a tank every six weeks or so.
