Hello, my scura is undersprung,at the front, and I just want to confirm that the standard springs are 8.5N/mm.

That being so I'm thinking 1.0N/mm would be ok good fix for my weight of 80kg.

What are the thoughts of the brains trust?

Cheers

Way to soft, even for my weight.

Well, duh. That's been known for like what.. 15 years, now?  :oldgit:  :)  They specd those springs for a 140 lb. Eyetalian guy.  :rasta:  Maybe that guy in the ads that was wearing pajamas, barefooted, with his hands on her jugs?  :D

I weigh 165lbs (75kg) barefoot in my jammies... and the stock springs work for me.

I admit to being "somewhat" heavier than Scud but I will tell ya that the Sport suspension is firm enough that sport riding on bumpy roads can get me in trouble.

I am going to play with air pressures when I haul my Jr  Bags up the interstate on Labor Day (I am thinking 42 lb rear and 28 front) to keep it from "weaaaavinnggggg".

4745-90 = 9.0 N/mm - way to soft

As far as I understand, there are only two options left upwards (I have now 10 N/mm).

Guzzi# (Öhlins-#)-XX:

04745 (08701)-80   /  8.0 N/mm

04745 (08701)-85   / 8.5 N/mm

04745 (08701)-90   / 9.0 N/mm   * from factory *

04745 (08701)-95   / 9.5 N/mm

04745 (08701)-10   / 10.0 N/mm

02 Scura: My OEM shock spring is 85 (it's marked 1091-26/85 L511). Can't confirm wt of OEM fork springs, but presumed also 85.

Stock springs F&R were way too soft for me. I'm 175-180lbs (UK - dunno is that same pounds as you have in Oz or USA?).

I replaced with 100 both ends, which were fine, but I'd probably've been better off w 110.

Here's an old thread on this: http://www.v11lemans.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=6534&hl=%2Bohlins+%2Bsprings+%2Bpart+%2Bnumbers+%2Bstiffer

I've discovered 2 heavier springs available than the 10.0N/mm while searching for replacement springs for my Cafe' Sport.

I don't see a distinction on internals for the Scura,  so please disregard this info if I am misinformed.

Here is a breakdown of the 04745 I found while scouring the interwebz.

04745-65 Ohlins Fork Spring 240/28.7/37.5/4.4/6.5/157

04745-70 Ohlins Fork Spring 240/28.5/37.5/4.5/7/155

04745-75 Ohlins Fork Spring 240/28.3/37.5/4.6/7.5/154

04745-80 Ohlins Fork Spring 240/28/37.5/4.75/8/145

04745-85 Ohlins Fork Spring 240/28/37.5/4.75/8.5/149

04745-90 Ohlins Fork Spring 240/27.7/37.5/4.9/9/140

04745-95 Ohlins Fork Spring 240/27.7/37.5/4.9/9.5/145

04745-10 Ohlins Fork Spring 240/27.5/37.5/5/10/139

04745-05 Ohlins Fork Spring 240/27.5/37.5/5/10.5/140

04745-11 Ohlins Fork Spring 240/27.5/37.5/5/11/134

The -90 spring is the one fitted stock according to this Ohlins page.

The Cafe' Sport uses the FG313 Fork. Does the Scura use the FG847? Either way, they spec the same spring.

According to AF1, the -95 was stock in many Aprilia models.

It seems they carry the -05, -10, and -11 but it looks like the -05 are special order.

I hope this is helpful info.

Has someone possibly found linear aftermarket springs for the KR type forks, or for the longer version in the Tenni for instance?

Hi Hubert, just now I´am looking at springs for my KS, my standard springs are OD 35mm and 294mm long, it is for KR and KS identical. I find by YSS catalogue that VTR100F springs ar very similar, only the lenght ist 315 mm, it is easy to modify by distance spacer.
