frogonwheels Posted July 16, 2007 Posted July 16, 2007 Hello, On my 04' V11 Ballabio, the sensor ( oil pressure sensor ? ) up on the case on the left side, is leaking a bit . I tried to tighten the two allen screws, but it hasn't helped. Can I make my own gasket ? Should I seal it with some blue gasket sealer ? Has that happen to anyone else / Thanks Terry
Guest ratchethack Posted July 16, 2007 Posted July 16, 2007 Terry, FWIW, as discussed previously, mine doesn't LEAK -- it just SEEPS -- but it's annoying, and f'er the life of me I can't understand wot the difficulty seems to be in getting a good seal here?!?! Having been thru the usual progression on stronger & stronger sealants, I've got one more to try next, (Wurth Nederland B.V. Siliconen speciaal 250). If that doesn't work, I'll likely try the old tried & true (but not all that easily removed) Indian Head Gasket Shellack. PLEASE do not try your own gasket! The soft aluminum shim under the flange is spec'd with a tight tolerance between timing sensor and phase sensor wheel on the camshaft. Seems that part of the problem is that since the shim thickness is so critical, a traditional gasket can't be used. But you'd think sealants that seem to work fine elsewhere would do it?!?!
frogonwheels Posted July 17, 2007 Author Posted July 17, 2007 GREAT NEWS !!!! Thank you for the prompt reply anyway. Terry
richard100t Posted July 17, 2007 Posted July 17, 2007 Mine does the same thing. All I do is wipe it clean every once in a while & not worry about it.
