ponti_33609 Posted August 6, 2007 Posted August 6, 2007 Hi, Recently moved to Tampa Florida from Boston. Deal with my wife was if we moved to Florida, I could have a bike. I just purchased a silver 2000 V11 Sport with under 4,000 miles on it. Working to get it registered this week. Would love a little help from anyone. Have always had/ridden Japanese motorcycles and this is my first Guzzi. Can anyone help me with: 1. What Repair Manual do you guys use? 2. How's the reliability of these things? I hear they are good. 3. Anything else I should know about these bikes? I was a little worried because I have never had a bike this big, engine wise. I am 47 years old, 5' 10" and 175 pounds. The weight seems relatively light and appears about the same as a 750 I use to have. I appreciate any insight you have! Regards, Bob
Anthro Posted August 6, 2007 Posted August 6, 2007 Congrats your bike looks real good Greg Bender posted these training videos http://thisoldtractor.com/guzzi_training/ and there are workshop manuals posted at Greg's website http://www.thisoldtractor.com/gtbender/mot...orkshop_manuals. Moto Guzzi parts manuals are posted at MPH http://www.mphcycles.com/Parts%20Manuals/Parts.htm, really cool people at MPH, but, please do not stop there... this site contains a wealth of resources... We are about the same age, I have the MG California, a bit heavier than V11 Sport, but it feels just great better when you ride it, I got my bike new and now I have 14k miles... the first 500 miles were a bit rough, but then every day a like it more. DeBenGuzzi Posted August 11, 2007 Posted August 11, 2007 The red-framed 2000's are bullet proof, just change the relays if you haven't and thats all, rock solid. ALSO if you want to get ride of or trade that Carbon Fiber front fender I have a silver one, and a green one, I would be willing to trade and possibly add a lil $ to the pot or some other parts who knows. I've been looking for one and can't find'em. That looks exactly like my bike did when I bought it, now mine looks like this. well it has different turn signals, but needs a carbon front fenda.
jrt Posted August 12, 2007 Posted August 12, 2007 You can also download an owner's manual CD from: http://autos.groups.yahoo.com/group/v11man...?yguid=74904609 Ignore all the messages- they're robots. The only reason to join that group is to go to the 'downloads' and download the manual. Follow the instructions, set up the directory structure right and you'll have kind of a web-like owners manual (if you have a PC. If you have a Mac, you'll have to navigate it manually). It's easier than I make it sound. Congrats on your bike! Enjoy! Edit: also see this faq, just as a matter of info. http://www.v11lemans.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=5692

Hi - I also have a carbon fiber wind fairing and my gage panel/dashboard is also matching carbon fiber. Otherwise, I might have been interested. I really like what you have done with your bike!
