rear caliper failure.

I'll betcha it is the 120.2799.30 seal, "part of an OBSOLETED caliper, the P32B #20.4532.70 caliper".

One of these days someone will spend the $9.76 ++ and find out(yoyo has $25minimum order).

I suppose asking won't hurt...

I suspect another viable source is Guzzitech.

Yes, I am spamming for them and I ride and eat lunch with Todd Eagan.

But it would be good to support Guzzi specialists over every other yoyo out there, if we have a choice.

Guzzi makes motorcycles, Brembo makes brake components. Yoyodyne is a Brembo distributor.

Do you buy your tires from a Guzzi dealer?

Moto Intl. let a forum member who calls himself Slug "borrow" a set of those seals to see if they worked in a V11. He reported that they are not even close. That's not personal experience, but it's pretty close to. Perhaps Mr. Slug will chime in here?

this is the caliper I took off my motorcycle

this is the one I got from Yoyodyne

as you can see, they are pretty much identical but for the position of the bleeding nipple.

That is an easy fix: just unscrew the nipple and screw it on the other side, and screw the brakeline where the nipple was :)

At this point, I care not if it is rebuildable, since $ 91 delivered is very doable in my book. How many times does a caliper fails?

I'll keep it clean this time

Have a look at the postings above and maybe on the related rear brake caliper/disc threads - as I've said on numerous occasions, I've had the seal kit mentioned in my hands and it will NOT fit the rear caliper of the V11Sport/V10 Centauro/Daytona RS.

It comprises 2 x piston seals that nearly fit, 2 x external type dust seals that don't and the O ring for sealing the port between the two caliper halves plus a couple of bolts. It looks to be for a V50 rear caliper.

Is there an emoticon for banging my head against the wall?

I must have missed your stating that you had that kit in your hand.

Care to site the post number?

Assuming you are correct, sorry for not reading properly.

I see statements from you that appear to be incorrect information, like "He has many years of dealing directly with Brembo and categorically states that there are NO - REPEAT NO - specific seal/refurb kits available for the Brembo P32B or other P32 Goldline series 'racing' style calipers from Brembo themselves"

When clearly several places show seals for the P32B available for sale.

Hey SantaFe Rider,

I hope you don't mind but I'm going to try and boil this down a little bit since I appear to have the beginnings of your rear brake issue.

There is no rebuild kit for the rear caliper. Your rear caliper was toast so you bought a new one. All is good in Santa Fe. My rear is not toast but it is sticking. I will try and remove the pistons from the caliper to do a thorough cleaning. If I can't reuse the seals I need a new caliper.

I had started my own thread but yours seems much more entertaining! :bier:

Thanks,

Darryl
