Fuel starvation

Hello, I'm a new Guzzi owner. Bike runs perfectly until the tank is approximately half full, then begins to die. All filters are clean.

If I fill it up, it goes perfectly until half full again.

Does anyone have any brilliant ideas?

John.

John, it sounds like the infamous "tank suck" demon. If you search on "tank suck", you should be in good shape.

Good luck. :mg:

Indeed....... crack the tank cap at the first sign of this phenomenon. If you hear a rush of air and that resolves the running issue, Bob's your uncle. (for the diagnosis, Dave!)

The PROPER fix for the tank suck problem is to orient the tip over valve so that it is not closed when the bike is upright.

So no crash and burn syndrome, and then Bob is your uncle.
